  1. Well F1 did have Godzilla's footprint.
  2. A bit of wackyness is fine, but it crossed the line for me. No... it sped passed that line in a rocket ship and gave it the finger. You can cast aspersions on me if you like, but I can question your taste too. The Space Quest games took themselves more seriously than Fallout 2 did. One thing it sounds like we all agree on though, is looking forward to Fallout New Vegas. I wouldn't plan on New Vegas being as cheeseball as 2 though (Thank goodness). From an interview I read it sounds like Feargus regrets a lot of the cheese in Fallout 2 and it sounds like Sawyer agrees it went a bit too far. Fallout 2 was a huge game, but when thinking of Fallout 2 I start thinking of speaking plants and chess playing radscorpions and I start rolling my eyes out of their sockets. @bhlaab: If you loved Fallout 2 this sounds right up your alley. Fallout 2 makes Mothership Zeta look like a stroll to the local supermarket.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised if it did make its way to PC as GTA IV did. I'm set either way as I have a 360.
  4. Heh, thats almost exactly how I felt about Fallout 2 when it came to the corny jokes everwhere, the added cursing and all the sex crap in New Reno.
  5. Why not, it works fine in Mass Effect. Just add some levels above what you would normall have access to the first time around. If its in, cool, if not I wont cry about it. I'm more annoyed by infinite pistol ammunition than the possibility of replaying the game with a character you beat the game once with.
  6. I'll take Oblivion Fallout style ANY day over Fallout Wacky style. I honestly can't blame Beth if they were going after a 'different audience'. Times have changed, RPGs have changed. How many RPGs do you see anymore with as much depth as the classics? Just look at how much Bioware has been dumbing their RPGs down with each release. Jade Empire & Mass Effect feel more like Diablo with a bit more dialogue. Hell, Diablo II has about 10x more character customization than Jade Empire.
  7. Fallout 3 was kind of up and down as far as writing was concerned. Good writing here, real stinkers there. It had me rolling my eyes in a few spots, but I've experienced worse with some other recent CRPG games. I kind of feel Twinkie/Grizzly's pain as I know what its like to see a franchise taken in a direction that you completely disagree with. I hate whats become of the CoD franchse after the excellent CoD 1 + expansion. Regening health, what the **** were they thinking!? In that situation though, it was the original makers of the game who decided to ruin their own franchise. I've felt for quite some time that if there was one rpg game that would make an excellent RPG from the FPS viewpoint it would be Fallout. Also, ruin isn't exactly the right word. It may be ruined for me, but its selling far better than the original game ever did, which I also believe is the situation with Fallout 3.
  8. I thought the original RE games were pretty neat, but I never got too excited about them. RE 4 on the other hand just blew me away. While RE 5 doesn't advance much from the formula of RE 4, and in fact is worse as a single player experience, the coop more than made up for it. Just so much fun trying to survive with a buddy. You should think of the Wii games as for those who never played the original trilogy, as its basically a recap of their stories in a 'Wii friendly' game. Wish they would do something similar for the 360.
  9. Nope, thats the old "oops I dropped something. Aid, would you uh, mind bending over and picking it up?" trick. Sarkozy is priceless in that pic. Looks like Beavs or Butthead.
  10. Thats too bad. I look at those pictures and wonder "ooo, whats behind that ridge? ooo I want to go down that valley!". I guess the answer is "no you can't, keep on the trail hombre". Another reason why I'm excited about Red Dead Redemption, a supposedly massive area to explore. Wonder if you will get a horse radio.
  11. Hah, I'd say Bethesda 'got' Fallout more so than the devs of Fallout 2, Tactics & especially BoS. At the end of the day, I have FUN playing Fallout 3, despite its flaws.
  12. Man, I can't wait for Rockst*r's Red Dead Redemption. GTA IV engine + Euphoria physics in the wild west sounds like such awesomeness. Do you have a lot of freedom in Bound in Blood? I've been considering getting the original Call of Juarez but I just don't like the sound of the puzzles/jumping elements. These westerns make me want to listen to America's Horse With No Name.
  13. Looks like David Perry was working on the project http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/100/1002948p1.html
  14. Maybe I'm just a dork... but I MUCH preferred the armies starting out with their correct weaponry. None of this crap where Americans start with a Russian PPsH or whatever. Besides that, the helicopter absolutely RUINED the game for me. Just a cheat mode. Much prefer CoD: World at War MP, though I admit I'm biased as I find WWII far more interesting than modern warfare (from a game/setting/weapon standpoint).
  15. SNL should do a skit on this 'incident' and base it on: Just replace Kramer with Obama and the State of New York with The United States/The World. "No no, I think theres been a mistake... I wasn't looking" "What's your name again?" "Barack Obama." "Barack Obama, you ARE the assman!"
  16. I spent eons getting the Pool of Radiance games to work in DOSBox. I'm not sure if I have the stamina/patience to try and get another game working with it. I've heard many good things about Daggerfall... but I doubt it will make me stop playing Fallout 3.
  17. LOL, it is? Well... its till funny. Showing it off to the media.
  18. Damn! I'll get you next time Obama! Who knew Sarkozy was such a booty connoisseur. He even breaks the 'look but don't touch' rule.
  19. "The game has been in development for "several months" and Jackson himself even recorded speech and dialogue." http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/100/1002639p1.html I wonder if ign is playing some late april fools prank or something. Wonder if it will be like the old Sega Genesis game... http://www.gametrailers.com/video/angry-vi...rewattack/44106 Searching every conceivable location for children. Cue pedo jokes.
  20. Does this mean we can impeach him yet!?
  21. You think the first was bad (I actually liked it), then you should see the sequel. It managed to worm its way into the bottom 100 on imdb. Like those who have glimpsed hell or some other unspeakable horror I have purged my mind of whatever happened in the movie, lest I crawl into a corner, drool on myself and scream 'MAKE IT STOP! TAKE THESE FOUL WRETCHED IMAGES FROM MY MINDS EYE!'
  22. You two should meet in person and just LARP it out. http://sdmobile.livejournal.com/18969.html
  23. If you find that demoralizing, wait till you are in your mid 20s in Mask of the Betrayer and dock thugs give you a hard time.
  24. Who needs genius when you can light people on fire with your guitar and run druids over in a hot rod?
  25. Tim Schafer's name piqued my interest, the 17 minute dev walkthrough put it on my must buy list.
