WAY TL;dr

This... my biggest complaint about the game. I would have liked to have seen civilians on the road, or atleast friendly mercs with the faction you are working for. Instead, the instant you spy someone in the distance, you know its going to be another merc after your blood the moment he sees you. Some different enemies to spice things up would be nice. Sure you get different races and accents for the mercs, but something like real soldiers, or poachers or something to liven up the encounters. Despite these complaints I don't regret buying the game. The shooting is pretty intense and they did a fantastic job bringing Africa to life. The multiplayer is pretty enjoyable too.

"I'm just saying that there need to be limits set and one way of doing that would be by making sure that people are prepared and eqipped to become parents BEFORE the fact, not AFTER." I'm inclined to agree, but how though? Better education in school? Some sort of mandatory course? How long would it be? What happens if the parents 'flunk'? The government can't even handle a 'cash for clunkers' program let alone policing would-be parents.

One thing I find funny is most of the comments find pulling the nail out of the hand the nastiest. Frankly, if given a choice of which one of those impromptu 'healing' moves I'd most likely be able to pull on myself without passing out it would be pulling a nail out of my hand. The others though...

Yeah but in mine you can actually SEE whats going on. Plus it has all of them... or atleast most of them. So... NEENER NEENER!

Far Cry 2 does have one of the best healing systems I've seen in a FPS game. This video is much easier to see the animations and includes more, if not all of them. Let the whincing proceed.

Gaming is nothing more than one rip off after the next that has lead from Wolfenstein 3D to Duke Nukem 3d to Half-Life and on and on. I really don't care if Dante's Inferno is a GoW rip off (especially as 360/PC owner) as long as it is fun. I don't think it will be a day one purchase for me, but I am fairly interested at this point. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusiv...s-inferno/52342

It is. It even hurt sales to a certain degree. A simple symbol of torment on a leather book type background as seen in the ending cinematic would have been infinitely better. I can testify to that. I'm one of those fools who saw the game box around it's release and I passed it up. Only years later when I heard it was a D&D game using the same engine as Baldur's Gate did I finally pick it. One of the best RPGs I've ever played.

I agree. Some people may be a bit peeved at the idea of changing a classic to fit a game (Dante the poet becoming a crusading demonic ass-kicker), but I'm kind of interested to see a more realized look at hell in a video game.

You really should have tried the demo first. Basically trying to be a grindhouse type Quentin Terrantino thing. One of those demos I couldn't even get through because of boredom. Everything about it is just so... meh. Bunch of clone enemies, you have to jump around like an idiot to get slow mo to activate, the taunts were stupid...

Ha ha! Awesome review! Though I actually disagree with the review... the game was a blast. I guess I have my head up my ass.

Obs needs a trailer where Mike comes in to complain about the recent asignment. Mike: This is madness! Boss: THIS... IS... ALPHA PROTOCOL! (proceeds to kick Mike out the window) -
Another horror of the evil capitalist society is the ability to get an education, get a better job and get payed more. Why would people want such a thing though when the government can tell you where you will work and how long you will work?

On Einstein's brain: "A study later found part of Einstein's brain missing and another part 15% larger. In 1999, further analysis by a team at McMaster University in Hamilton Ontario, Canada revealed that his parietal operculum region in the inferior frontal gyrus in the frontal lobe of the brain was vacant. Also absent was part of a bordering region called the lateral sulcus (Sylvian fissure). Researchers at McMaster University speculated that the vacancy may have enabled neurons in this part of his brain to communicate better. " Apparently sometimes less is more.

That's what all LoF topics devolve into because its exactly what he's getting at. He didn't bring this up to talk about humanity etc... its about how the evil imperialists suck yada yada. Hell, he can't even talk about forum avatars or celebrities or whatever without it somehow being tied to his agenda about the US/western society in general sucking.

Yeah, it just appears she's not growing. It may offer some insight to the aging process though.

The living do though. Thats why there are different punishments for manslaughter and murder. Unless you believe in some barbaric sense of an eye for an eye type of justice. Drunken ahole runs over some guys daughter, so now victim's father has the right to run over drunk's daughter even though she has nothing to do with the situation. Its karmic justice! -

You wouldn't happen to be a reader of Saul Alinski would you Junai? -
Its just all around strange. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooke_Greenberg "There've been very minimal changes in Brooke's brain ... Various parts of her body, rather than all being at the same stage, seem to be disconnected." I'm guessing that has to do with the the diseases. "Her bones, although still abnormally short, are around 10 years old, as determined by the maturity of the cells and structures. And despite being a teenager, she still has her baby teeth, which have an estimated developmental age of about eight years." It just goes to show how little is known about the human body. Its especially odd how "At age five, Greenberg had a mass in her brain that caused her to sleep for 14 days. The doctors diagnosed the mass as a brain tumor. However, Greenberg later awoke, and physicians found no tumor present." I hope some interesting discovery about the human aging process, or the various changes our body makes as time goes on can be gained from her. I wonder if they'll ever figure some cure out that will allow her to get back into normal growth... BTW this is actually a pretty old story, so if there already was a thread recently feel free to close it mods. I had just never heard of it before after stumbling onto it on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcBDQr2FAww Absolutely crazy. Its like shes in a time bubble. Time passes around her, but not for her. Scientists apparently can't predict how long she will live, whether she will live longer than average or shorter. Will scientist be able to gain some understanding of the aging process? How to stop it? Will this result in the dystopian future where only the ultra rich live forever and the rest of us bums rebel and riot for a bottle of the anti aging syrum?

What is the best multi-player game ever
GreasyDogMeat replied to Monte Carlo's topic in Computer and Console
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory or Quake Wars. I love the class based combat. You really have to support your team to win. Resident Evil 5 is also a blast in coop mode. -
They all have their merits. The wii seems best if you are buying for a younger gamer. I chose an X-Box because the exclusives interested me more on the 360. Halo, Gears of War, GTA IV exclusive add ons (Lost and the Damned is awesome and upcoming Ballad of Gay Tony looks amazing http://www.gametrailers.com/video/debut-trailer-gta-iv/55294 ), Shadow Complex & Alan Wake (May come to PC). The only game that REALLY has me drooling on the PS3 is Heavy Rain. Uncharted looks like fun too though. I ended up returning it without watching it. I'd call a huge breakthrough for Boll getting a rating of over a 5 on IMDB. I wouldn't be surprised if some people just vote his movies down without seeing them, but after watching Dungeon Siege I'm sure he deserves every negative rating he gets. Is he some sort of private eye on the side with dirty photos of every actor in Hollywood for bribery? How does he keep nabbing big name stars? I think Boll is the only remaining mystery on Earth.
