  1. The book I posted above stunk. If it was a movie I'd have walked out. Since it was a book I just deleted it from my Kindle.
  2. If you woke up and her number is written on the back of your hand it was a good night. If you woke up naked with her next to you it was a really good night!
  3. I rented a Bobcat to do some grading on the dirt road into my place. With all the rain it's in pretty bad shape. Then tonight I'm taking the GF out for a nice dinner. I was thinking the Peabody. Then after that, who knows.
  4. I don't know why but I found that very funny.
  5. @Longknife: Great post. But Stand Your Ground was never an issue because Zimmerman was on his back being pummeled when he shot Martin. Now granted he did get out of his truck to follow Martin but to convict him of manslaughter ( I think everyone agrees 2nd Degree Murder was never appropriate) based on that would mean that walking down the sidewalk of the private community that you lived in was a criminal act. Had this been on a public street somewhere in town then I think that a manslaughter conviction would have been a slam dunk.
  6. Just started The Road to Judea. I have no idea what it is about aside from the fact it is told from the perspective of a Roman legionary and is set in Israel shortly after the time of Christ.
  7. I'm currently on track to receive a BA in economics by 2016(sooner if I quit my current 30+ hour a week job), but I'm not sure that a career as an analyst or in business is something I want. Well, I'd say give engineering a try but until very recently my own endeavors in that field have been underwhelming. The hours are long and the money is not what you'd expect.
  8. Isn't the royal family sort of like a zoo attraction? You get to tour their home, they are put on display during holidays and special occasions, your tax money feeds and takes care of them. They really don't get to go or do what they want. The are like prized zoo exhibits.
  9. I would KILL to have a quicksave key for real life! Imagine how useful that would be is you could simply reload after hurting/making a jackass of yourself!
  10. Here is why this Braun business matters. He won the MVP a few years ago and he was cheating. Matt Kemp didn't and he wasn't.
  11. You know you've played Skyrim too much if you catch yourself automatically looking up every time you walk outside!
  12. Today I worked on actual work stuff for about an hour. But I found it terribly difficult to concentrate. Thankfully this project is still in the planning stage so there is plenty of time. Usually I'm pretty productive during the day. I hold myself to a regular work day schedule for the most part even though I work from home when I'm not on the road. Today I found myself staring out the window so I just went out and trimmed the trees and cut the grass. Then I piled up the cuttings and had a fire and cooked hot dogs for me and the pup over it. A much better use of my time for sure!
  13. From what to what?
  14. How about them Rays! 17 wins in their last 19 games. Look behind you Red Sox. Now they are playing in Boston starting tonight. Must See TV!
  15. Damn! You guys beat me to it!
  16. As long as you're both legal age I don't see any serious issue. That said, for me personally, I do tend to find it kinda weird when one is, oh say, 75 and the other is 25. And as Hurlshot said, even outside of how mature they may seem/behave, sometimes if the other is below 20ish, they may not really know what they want yet (compared to the one who is a fair bit older), either from life or from relationships, and thus the couple may find themselves growing apart rather fast. But that can also happen to any couple, so I don't see it as a reason to not try. If he's 75 and she's 25 its quite obvious she's just waiting for him to die while she entertains herself with the pool boy!
  17. Just got home from Nashville. My GF came over for my birthday last Thursday. Then Saturday morning we woke up and decided to go to Nashville. Had a great time, went to the Nashville Nightlife theater for a couple of concerts from really great singers and bands I've never heard of. We spent the night there and came home this morning. Most definitely a great weekend. This week we finish off the Dyer County Schools project and hand that network over a full two weeks ahead of schedule. We were a little over budget but we still came off well on this one. We are giving the installation teams a bonus for their part. The should provide some incentive for the next project! Time to refocus on the Mall business again. That means road trips coming soon. Now time to do a little shopping online, play Skyrim for a bit and enjoy a cold Sam Adams or two... or three. Life is good folks!
  18. Oh it will be a little while yet I think. I have to pick out a ring then wait for the right time. This is the LAST time I ever do this one way or another so I'm going big on the ring!
  19. Not quite a year. We've been back together a month now and it was just like we never split up. She has not put any pressure on me which is what really drove us apart but it's hard not to thing about it when I compare her to everyone I've dated since, or before for that matter. Plus she is nothing at all like my ex so that's a good thing.
  20. Whatever you do, don't propose. Are you psychic?
  21. I LOVE this story! Just for the comedy value. 50 bucks says Shady takes a drive and bags a drone! http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/drone-hunting-colorado-172357477.html
  22. It's the perfect size for a carry weapon. I usually keep a .410 buckshot in each barrel. I've found when using .45LC anything over 185 grain tumbles because only the end of the barrel is rifled. Shotgun shells are more effective at close range anyway. Like I said I'm to looking to get in any gunfights here. If I ever had to defend myself it would only be from close range. I'm not George Zimmerman, I'm staying in my truck!
  23. My carry weapon is a Bond Arms .45/.410 derringer. It useless beyond 1-3 meters but deadly inside of that. I know it only has two shots but I'm not looking to get in a gunfight here. If one shot isn't enough ten probably wouldn't be either. http://bondarms.com/
  24. DE made some excellent points. My biggest reason is that they have the best balance and are the most accurate. The real Colts, not the replicas like the Ubreti. They have better balance thanks to the reinforced frame beneath the grips. It makes the pistol somewhat heavier in the back which allows it to roll back in your hand with the recoil. That makes it slightly faster to **** the hammer and fire the next round. They have a flatter ballistic arc than most pistols because they use a tighter rifling than any other make. From 20 meters I can fire six shots faster and with a tighter group using the Colt than I can with the Ubreti, or my Ruger Blackhawk.
  25. It's certainly romantic, but I wouldn't rely on a single-action in a legitimately life-threatening encounter/confrontation. Speaking of nerds and guns... http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p226-x-five-golden-dragon.aspx I'd say one well aimed and accurate shot is better than a dozen poorly aimed shots even rapidly fired. But you are right of course. Revolvers are fun range guns but they are not a good choice for carry/self defense weapons.
