Reactionaries tries to ban progressive technology

Of all the sci fi stories that could one day become real, who picked Blade Runner? -
Wait... you work for the government now??? --- *mumbles something about if you can't beat them...* Well, it's the State government, not leviathan-on-the-Potomac.

Wait... you work for the government now??? --- *mumbles something about if you can't beat them...* GD has basically become Ron Swanson. I think he even told them in the interview that he wasn't qualified for the job and didn't really want it. That's almost exactly how it went. And they hired me anyway! That might be the biggest anti-government argument of all time!

As far as blended bourbon goes I think that is the best. Their small batch reserve is really excellent too.

Plus every time he opens his mouth there is a 35% chance something stupid will come out. His run will be as entertaining as it will be futile!

Kentucky County Clerk still Refuses to issue Gay Marriage License
Guard Dog replied to BruceVC's topic in Way Off-Topic
I have posted this before on this thread and elsewhere. The worst evil this world has ever known begins when one group of people believes they know better how another group of people should be living. Or when one group presumes itself or a different group to be better or have more worth than another. Don't ever forget, the people who were rounding up Jews and herding them into gas chambers believed they were doing the "right" thing. -

Well you can hardly be blamed for that. Being a SJW means starting from a position of truly believing their thinking is more "right", their way is better than everyone else's. And if they could just MAKE everyone see things their way it would fix the world. It would be difficult for them NOT to be condescending when they start by presuming themselves better than everyone else on the merits of their ideals. Actually SJWs and religious zealots have a lot in common on that count it would seem. Two sides of the same coin maybe? No my friend you have to update your knowledge of the behavior and views of the SJW movement We never use words like " thinking is more "right", their way is better than everyone else's "...thats an unfair characterization and a little inaccurate We prefer to " help people make the right decision " and " remove the worry and stress from people having to make certain choices around economic and political policy by making the choices for them " So please don't see SJW influence in bad way ...its really something that will benefit society Ah I see. A distinction without a difference! Either way it is all about "correcting" those deemed incorrect. With persuasion when possible. At gunpoint when that fails. -

You have posted some off the wall stuff lately but you hit the nail on the head here.

If I vote for the Republican candidate (by no means a certainty) I DO NOT was one that will work with Democrats, I was one that can STOP democrats. Their idea of compromise is to give them their way. I like my government paralyzed and unmoving. If they cancel each other out then neither side can hurt anyone.
-
No money, no support, no hope and a crowded field of much better candidates. No surprise. Lindsey Graham will be next. If only he'd take Jeb Bush with him. You can't out-democrat the democrats.

It's hard to infer tone from a test post! That's why sarcasm doesn't work well in places like this. -
TSL Restored Content Mod 1.8.4
Guard Dog replied to Darth Snaggletooth's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nope, Gizka went belly-up. This is an entirely different beast. I didn't know that. I remember they had stalled and I stopped following it. Gizka's project was ambitious IIRC and there was another group looking to do just the droid factory that Gizka wasn't doing. How much got restored? Heck if they just fixed the ending that alone would be a huge achievement. -
I had to go to court this morning for work. I'm back home now. One nice thing about being a civil servant is the hours are flexible.

You do realize that Star Trek is a thinly veiled allegory for socialism, right? Veiled? I always thought they were pretty upfront about it. But I was just trying to be funny. -

And Huckster wonder why he fails to advance beyond the primaries when he runs for President. Which he does all the time. -
My friend I can help you, I follow SJ causes. There is no hypocrisy in that once you understand the context..come join me You will feel a much more liberated and fulfilled person once you get into the habit of judging people with no feeling of remorse ...oh to be honest some people will not like you but you need to accept that and remember you need to make posts and decisions on the principle and not what you think people may say Remember Bruce, the urge to save the world is only a false front for the desire to rule it. So the question us are you a part of the plot or a dupe?

All the answers to all the social dilemmas facing our society can be found somewhere in one of the Star Trek shows! -
Mets fans are like abused dogs. They've been whipped so many times they have begun to expect it!
-
Now THAT is awesome!
-
How big was the Cespedes trade for the Mets? The just swept the Nats and all but locked up the NL East with a seven game lead. Volo should be pretty happy about that.

Exactly. Do this and everything else takes are of itself. I consider myself to be in good shape, not just for my age but period. I don't exercise but I am very active, I do a lot of manual labor around my home like wood cutting, garden work, etc. I think I'm what you would call "farmer strong". But it's not my job nor my place to see to anyone's fitness but my own (and my dogs). So if I see an overweight person eating the king size Whopper meal at Burger King with the extra large chocolate shake I'll I'd say is enjoy your lunch. It's funny. The liberals here in the US get all hackled up about a woman's right to do as she pleases with her body when it comes to abortion and then are ready to crucify that same woman for eating something they disapprove of if the is a little past what THEY call overweight. I guess a woman's right to choose isn't absolute in their twisted little minds.

Does anyone else wish this story would just go away yet? -
Hmm, to be fair, that IPA probably has a bit higher of an alcohol content than the cheap beer you drank back in the day. True enough there. As a Lance Corporal (the rank I was stuck at almost the whole time) I was making around $300 every two weeks back in 1990 after taxes. After car payments and other misc I was a major customer of Keystone Light. I remember when the company that made Colders 29 went out of business and the PX was selling off their inventory for $4 a case. Oh it was nasty stuff but it was $4 a case! I bought so much my shocks were compressed on my car driving back home. Odd thing though, it didn't last as long as you'd think it would have. How the tooth feeling?
