  1. Yeah, they'll change every once and a while. Just to keep things fresh. Hell, my banners must be working cause for the past 2 weeks TFN has gotten more hits/visits then Starwars.com Now you can't tell me that isn't nothing. I'm not that surprised though. We've been out for a long while now and I've been with them since I was in the 7th grade. We are pretty established and is under the same network with IGN.
  2. Its a videogame, not some major event.... <_< Anyways I like the game and all and will buy it when it comes out. The thing is thought I'm not really all that ready (as you put it) for this game. If Star Wars: Battlefront and TSL both came out the same day and I only had enough money to buy one, I would get BF. For some reason my level of anticipations isn't the same as it was for KOTOR.
  3. A darker story doesn't necessarily mean more mass destruction. Sometimes it's the more personal tragedies that make the mood more somber or 'dark'. In saying that, keep in mind that I actually don't know a whole lot of the story of the game. Most of it is in the designers' heads more than in docs, and I don't have a lot of time to read story docs to begin with. Too busy coding. But I know how Avellone writes, and I do know a few details or ideas that are going to happen. -Akari Okay, that clears up many things. So really it is a darker story but more smaller and personal. I guess I get it now.
  4. The smallest thing doesn't set me off. I've ignored you for a long while now. But like I said, I reall don't care and nobody else here cares either. Go ahead and make your little side comments cause like I said, if that makes you happy, if that makes you feel as if you full-filled your self as a contributor to the Obsidian forums then all out do so. This is the only the 2nd time I have actually taken time out of my day to respond to one of your stupid comments. The first time being when I replied and gave that little worthless life story of myself and how I work for these two websites and that I'm heading into my 2nd year of College at Kansas University majoring in Computer Science....yeah yeah you probably remember. Anyways that was only the other time I replied back to your comments. All the other times I ignored and just pass it by. Again though, and be yourself and do what you do cause you even admitted. What you do is fun. I think its immature but you say its fun so have your little fun. But I know you do it to try to tick me off and for me to come back with a comment. More like the old lets see how far we can push him before he totally goes off the edge type game. You just don't understand how dumb you are making yourself sound though. I'm going to leave you alone now and let you be. I'm going to continue to be here til KOTOR 2 comes out and even some months afterwards. You can continue to make your comments about me, I even give you the red-light to do so. While you do that and have fun. I'm just going to push it aside and go one about my business. Don't expect for me to comment again on your replies cause thats what you want me to do. I know you are going to come back and make another reply but don't expect me to comment on it or on any other future replies. That all starts.....now. Aussehen, wie wir beide auf verschiedenen Tagesordnungen sind. Ein mit einer Ursache, und Ein ohne eine Ursache. ...
  5. From what I saw, there weren't really any spoilers. It showed that new bounty hunter, Mira, in action, as well as I think the white haired Jedi. None of the plot or storyline was shown, and none of the end bosses or returning NPCs were shown. True, maybe that is true. But I don't want to see the game in live action until I actually play the game for the first time. I want to have that first time shock of seeing KOTOR 2 in motion for the first time, I want that to happen when I buy the game rather then just view a video of it on the internet. I'll look at screenshots and stuff, but no videos of it. Watching the 20 min video of the first KOTOR really took the shock out of playing the game for the first time with me. Don't want that to happen with this one....
  6. (Starts to speak) Oh yeah everything Opus said. Once again Tyrell manages to come up with a totally ridiculous post. Its kind of funny this is Tyrell "playing nitpicker." You can tell he doesnt do it often. Do you have something against me man? Yes I remember when I FIRST came here I was an ass. I was literally bashing the game and its developers. I made the comment on how Halo 2 the sequel to Halo was such a big project whereas KOTOR 2 the sequel to KOTOR really isn't. That was when I knew less about the game. Now that I took more research about it and learned new things, I see KOTOR 2 for what it really is, a great game. I've done good things for the KOTOR 2 community by providing not one but TWO interviews that everyone seems to like. Again, I don't know that it is with you. Is it your maturity level? You are the ONLY one who ALWAYS has something negative to say about something, nobody here on the forums does the things you do. You are always quick to jump on someone's back and make comments about another. I remember how I said that "I'm not here to make friends, just talk KOTOR 2" when I first came here. Well I was fooled cause now many people is beginning to get along and like me and I'm beginning to like others here. I spend more time here then I do at my other two sites. But yet YOU are the only one who has something negative to say everytime I post. You really need to get your act together man and just chill out. This is an INTERNET forum. We are here cause we all have atleast one thing in common, a high respect and anticipation for KOTOR 2. ] You make the statement of me making yet another ridiculous post. Well I see no one else here complaining, my last post nobody complains. The last time someone complained about my post was when I made comments of KOTOR 2 not being a worthy sequel, and that was when I FIRST came here with like 5 post under my belt. I've changed and matured with knowledge about KOTOR 2. I moved on and the views others had about me moved on to. Oh but not you, maybe you are having a hard time in your personal life and you just feel as if you want to get some dirt off of your sleeve and take it out on someone else over the internet. I have done NOTHING against you personally but yet you still have this thing against me for some reason. I'm just going to end it like this. You can continue to have this thing against me. To tell you the truth, I just view it as an act of self immaturity and I'm too mature to bring myself down to that level. I have better things to do then to just talk down about someone on an internet forum 24/7. You can continue to be you and do what you do. I'm going to move and and just ignore it all. You can make your little witty comments, you can say whatever you want to say, I mean if it makes you happy or whatnot by all means do so, but don't expect me or anyone else here at the forum to care, you are going to be alone with this. Now to get back on topic ---------------------------- I guess you guys are right. I was sort of thinking the same thing. Maybe if you end on the LS, maybe it is still dark in some ways. I always thought it could be like that but felt like I was alone with it and thought that everyone else thought differently. Now that almost all of you said the same thing about TSL ending on LS and still being negative in some ways, now I feel differently. Thanks for your output though!
  7. I knew something like this was coming, much like the KOTOR 20 min video preview last year. Like I said before, I'm not going to view anything like this cause I don't want to be spoiled. BTW, it isn't like this is going to change my mind to make me view it, but how long is the video?
  8. Okay let me play nitpick for a second. First off I'm not trying to bash the game or the developers in any way or fashion. I'm just bringing up something that has been bothering me for a while. In almost anything TSL related it is always said that TSL is supposed to be darker then the first game. In almost every preview/interview that is said. Well, how dark can TSL really be? Cause if you think about it, you CAN play the game as a LS Jedi and end the game like that by you saving the galaxy and such. It isn't like the movies. Take EP5/EP3 as an example where "all the bad guys win". In EP3 almost all the Jedi is killed, Anakin falls to the Darkside, Padme dies, the Republic dies and the Empire is born etc.... EP5 Luke loses to Vader and reveals shocking information, Han is captured and sent to Jabba, the Rebels is ran off of their Hoth base in a lost battle etc.... Those movies are just linear one-way stories. TSL isn't a linear one-way story. It can either be a bad story like EP5/EP3 if you go along with the DS path, or it can be glorious and great like EP6 if you go with the LS path. Again, think about it more....how much darker can TSL be then KOTOR? Cause if you think about it, if you played KOTOR on the DS....it was a pretty dark game to. Taris is destroyed, Dantooine is destroyed, the Sith grows stronger and so on. I mean Chris Avellone said in a recent interview that in TSL it is a dark game cause bad things happens to good people. Well the same could be applied to KOTOR cause bad things happened to good people, especially if you played through the DS. Jolee dies, Reven comes back as the Sith Lord, Bastilla falls to the DS, and so on. Thats why I bring up the question about how dark can TSL be? Is the developers over-exaggerating with this? In EP3 and EP5 those were dark movies cause there was NO room for hope what so ever. In TSL there WILL be room for hope cause you can end the game as a LS person, thus making the game seem like a glorious/heroic game rather then just a dark gloomy/all hope is lost type of game like EP3/EP5. So the way I see it, TSL is a dark game....depending on how you play it. And if that is true, then that means it isn't much different from KOTOR cause in KOTOR it is a dark game....depending on how you play it.
  9. I like the silver one. It looks more darker and gloomy, much like the mood for TSL.
  10. For an RPG it was too easy. I play platformers that throws more difficulty at me then KOTOR. Now that is sad....
  11. This stock answer's driving me crazy! I almost hope Lucasarts keep the earlier release date so we can just get all the new information a lot quicker. I know man, it really irks me when they get around the questions like that. But hey, what can you do?
  12. Just to let you guys know, there IS a new KOTOR 2 interview up. http://xbox.playmoreconsoles.com/interview.asp?IntID=36
  13. I believe the story would be cool if there was a twist. Almost all SW movie had a twist. Attack of the Clones -- Dooku being on the Darkside Episode III -- Syfo Dyas will be revealed and the person who erased the files from the Jedi Archives will be revealed. Empire Strikes Back -- Vader being Luke's father Return of the Jedi -- Leia being Luke's sister
  14. Yeah I really didn't look much into that answer. I mean come on can they even keep a secret? I could sware that in some past interview they said that the twist in TSL would be more shocking then the one in KOTOR, now they are saying don't expect any surprises. f*** that, there will be a twist in TSL no doubt. They are just trying to set us up to not believe that there will be a twist and when we find out that there is actually a twist, it would make it that more shocking.
  15. Let me just try to put two and two together. We known for a while now that we can have up to 10 NPCs with us, but unlike KOTOR, there is more then 10 possible NPCs that can be with us. So in a way we can pick and chose who comes with us. I would guess that there is about 6-8 default NPCs that HAS to come with us, the others we get to chose. With this new interview we also know that afterall we DONT know who the bad guys are. So when picking these NPCs, we could be getting a possible good guy or bad guy. I do like that option and does at a bit of replayablity to the game. But as for the bad things happening to good people. I would get to excited over that. This same thing could be applied to the first KOTOR cause in that game, bad things did happen to good people. Nothing really new to me.
  16. As promised here is the first of 3 PMC interviews with Chris Avellone. Nothing really major, but it does shed new light on some aspects of the game. The full interview can be viewed here
  17. No problem, the notes on other characters/sets and other plot points can be viewed at the TheForce.net's Just the Facts: Episode III section. It would take you quite some time to read the whole thing, but after you are done, you'll know everything you'll need to know about EP3. Just a warning, there could be some minor spoilers located within while viewing.
  18. Speaking of EP3 in general. Here is a list of comprised facts about the movie as a whole: "...the third film is very, very, very dark. It's not a happy movie by any stretch of the imagination. It's a tragedy. Ultimately the final story is between Yoda, Obi-Wan, Anakin and the Padm
  19. Speaking of Anakin, he fights Obi-Wan in EP3. Here is some info about the duel.... The classic saber of Ep4 Ben Kenobi will be among the sabers in use. - OS The major focus is the breakdown in friendship between Obi-Wan and Anakin. - SW Insider It won't be the special effects that make the Obi-Wan/Anakin duel so thrilling, it will be the betrayal. - RM The lightsabers used by Obi-Wan and Anakin are ones we have seen before. - PH The Anakin/Kenobi duel is a lengthy one and will span many sets and travel a lot of distance. - OS One of the several settings for the duel with have red-gelled lights providing a glow to the set. - OS The duel will be a fierce confrontation and will keep up the pace for a while. Some of the fighting will take place on an incline...and "Anakin is weak on a slope", as Nick Gillard pointed out in his webchat and meant it literally. - OS Anakin and Obi-Wan's costumes will have discolorizations, cuts and burns from fighting and from their environment. - OS Who is the aggressor and who is the defender will alternate during the duel. - OS In one setting for the duel, Obi-Wan and Anakin will move over a large area but will careful of their footing. There will be "obstacles". - OS At one point in the duel, Anakin and Obi-Wan will look off-screen at a distraction. Their eyes will be looking at different spots of this distraction itself. - OS The duel will have a segment in a darkened room with a metallic surface with mechanical structures. And later the duel will move to isolated platforms. Anakin will circle his former master (Obi-Wan). -OS During one point in the duel, either Anakin or Obi-Wan will swipe his lightsaber blade against an outcropping and sever it. -OS The duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan is not a gentleman's duel. It will get nasty. -PH During the duel there will be a segment when Anakin and Obi-Wan dangle from cables, swinging to and fro. The wires being used are supposed to be visible The Jedi will be wearing the "weathered and beaten" robes. -OS At one point during the duel, debris will fall and one the characters will deflect it (likely with a lightsaber). -OS Some of the words spoken during the duel "will cut as deeply as lightsabers". -OS "The Epic duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan will be the longest lightsaber duel ever." - NG "The duel involves some of the fastest dueling I have ever seen. It almost appears artificially sped-up. It's just that fast." - PH There are parts of the duel when Anakin and Obi-Wan move even faster than the Maul/Obi-Wan duel in Ep1. -PH Red-gel lighting provides atmosphere for the duel scenes. There are also flashes from strobe lights going off to signify an alert to some kind of hazard. -OS Anakin and Obi-Wan will push their weapons into counter-tops and control panels and the FX Dept ignited squibs that burst to fill the frame and cover the actors with bright sparks and debris. -OS The fight involves leaps and throws at an accelerated rate. -OS Obi-Wan and Anakin have a moment where they collide with a control panel and land hard against a rough surface. The control panels and display screens have many unyielding protrusions. -OS One huge wall has a very thick blast door rigged which is opened by chains. One character will open it using muscle power. - OS Knowing what happens in Ep3 makes Paul see the classic trilogy in a new light. He specifically mentioned how he has a new understanding of the depth of friendship between Anakin and Obi-Wan. He now gets a lump in his throat when Vader strikes down Kenobi in Ep4. -PE "The final fight sequence in this film should surpass any fight sequence that has been put on film so far. It
  20. Its going to need a massive publicity campaign. After how horrible the first two were. I certainly wont be watching it. At least not in theaters. I think Ill download it for free illegally and watch it and laugh at Anakin trying to be Darth Vader. Then again it may not even be worth the time it will take to download it. First off what do you mean by Anakin trying to be Vader? He is Vader.... I think you meant Hayden trying to be Vader. Speaking of Anakin not portraying Vader well in EP3..... Acronym Key: GL = George Lucas (Director) OS = Official Site (starwars.com) RM = Rick McCallum (Producer) NP = Natalie Portman (Actor) HC = Hayden Christensen RB = Roger Barton (Film Editor) IM = Ian McDiarmid C2 = Celebration II BB = Ben Burtt (Sound Editor) JEJ = James Earl Jones (Voice Actor) JK = John Knoll (Visual Effects/ILM) PE = Paul Ens (Official Site) GB = Gavin Bocquet (Production Designer) JE = Joel Edgerton (Actor) PM = Peter Mayhew (Actor) RC = Rob Coleman (Visual Effects/ILM Supervisor) BS = Bruce Spence (Actor) AD = Anthony Daniels (Actor) TB = Trisha Biggar (Costume Designer) SLJ = Samuel L. 21. You guys have to realize that George Lucas is setting up a massive campaign for Star Wars Episode 3 which hits theaters May 19, 2005. Star Wars Episode III: The Videogame comes out Summer 2005. New season of Clone Wars cartoons on Cartoon Network comes out in March 2005. Plus more.... You guys also have to realize that Republic Commando deals with the Clone Wars and the Clone War ends at the at the beginning of EP3. Also it is said that the invasion of Kassyyyk which is an important key scene in the movie also takes place in Republic Commando. People will be playing a "piece" of the movie before it comes out. Remember, LucasArts said that we are shooting for a "early 2005 release" so over at Theforce.net me and the rest of the staff over at TFN: Games came up with the conclusion that LA is trying to release RC around the same time as the movie. That way giving more hype to the movie. George Lucas is a master when it comes to things like this. KOTOR 2/Battlefront has nothing to do with EP3 so they don't have to release around the time as the movie.
  22. If you think about it, having Hayden in instead of Sebastian Shaw makes perfect sense. It is said that Anakin actually DOES die in EP3 after the duel with Obi-Wan. It is just that Sidious does some Sith ritual that brings him back to life. Adding more meaning to the "Your father is dead, Vader killed him" line. So when you die your soul leaves your body right? Well in EP3 Anakin dies and his soul leaves his body. So when ROTJ comes around, the spirit we see from Anakin is the EP3 one cause that is the one Anakin had when he died the first time. I could be wrong. But still, I like the fact of having Hayden as Ankin in ROTJ. I mean if you watch the films in order from EP1-EP6 the person that is most associated as Anakin is Hayden. So when we see Anakin as a spirit, it makes perfect reasoning to have Hayden as Anakin cause thats what most people see/remember him as.
  23. In the first KOTOR each planet was set with a permanent time of day setting. All the planets were set during the day and Kasyyyk(sp?) was always set at night. In KOTOR 2 do you think or do you believe planets should change from day to night? Much like in games like Morrowind, GTA, Zelda etc....
