  1. The d20 system. Unfortunately, they never did come out with a good multi-opponent combat.
  2. This bug, at least, has been fixed. The NPCs will path to you instead of to the last several places where you just were. I still see pathing problems in other ways though. Like the one mentioned where you can't go through a door even though there's no obstruction, until you move around randomly and can move on. We'll see what we can do to fix these. It's hard, because they're not something we can reproduce on demand for debugging. We're aware the problem exists though. -Akari Awesome, thank you. The fact that ya'll know about it, acknowledge it, and are working on it means a lot. As far as the Gizka goes, damned if I didn't pet it, stroke it, pick it up, and kill it, but the little buggers just kept reappearing in the exact same spot. Rather a neat trick, actually...
  3. "What, do I have 'stupid' written across my forehead?" "Well, actually..." I don't see it happening in K2, but a choice of tats would be nice.
  4. Hmmm....well, the way I run it (and so has no actual bearing on KoTOR 1 or 2) is that once actual melee starts, no backstabbing is possible, as everyone is on their guard. However, with things like Stasis and such, it could be done (and is done, in K1).
  5. Against the vast number of Force Adepts on the Star Forge, I can't see the party going head on, like Revan and Co. did, but I can definitely see them having to be sneaky-sneaky and doing it. "What do you mean we have to fight Malak? I'm just going to rig the core to explode. What in the hell are you talking about?" As far as the topic, goes, yes, you will be creating your character along the same lines as in K1.
  6. I think Orlando Bloom should have a voice in it so he can walk around saying "I sense...things are not right in this place." Sorry, I just saw Troy and if that isn't Legolas with a haircut and die job....
  7. Yeah, moving really sucks for game groups. That's why we imported ours. Sorry to hear about your disastrous games, but pnp gaming can be a hoot and a half. The thing is you must be flexible, and not pin your characters down to what you WANT them to do just because you wrote it. There is an insane amount of improv going on behind that screen. I've learned to give every single cute female NPC a name and background, even if she's just there to bring them a drink in a bar, because I KNOW that the party is going to talk to her and want to know more about her, and yes, sleep with her. Magical contraceptives play a large part in my games. More than one of my campaigns or one shots have been close to wrecked because the party decided to focus on one single stray element I introduced and pursue that instead of the massive storyline I'd spent hours and hours coming up with. More than one epic battle has been cut very short because of excellent die rolls on their side, or my side of the screen. Once, as a player, we had an entire party of 10+ characters in Rifts wiped out by a bunch of semi-mutated sharks because of the absolutely horrid die rolling. So we just made it into another adventure to get those characters resurrected. As far as the Drizz't thing goes, well, you kind of got yourself into that. You gave them the Horn, did you not expect them to use it? I sure as hell would have! But, there are ways around it. Drizz't is a pretty experienced guy, all he and his party would have had to do is lay down on the ground, and the berzerker would have fallen right over, as per the rules of berzerkers (played one for a while, used to make me SO mad when the bad guys did that). Anyway, that's the thing about pnp gaming, gotta be ready to pull stuff out of your fourth point of contact. That's also one of the reasons why I love it so much, the spontanaity of it is something that will never be matched by a computer.
  8. Just an FYI, the main forum page doesn't update with the individual forums. For example, on the main forum page, it will say the last poster in a forum in KoTOR 2 is AAA, but when you click on the KoTOR 2 Index it will say it's BBB, which is actually correct. Does this make ANY sense at all?
  9. Ooooooooh, Clancy Brown....
  10. Completely agreed. Even if someone managed the impossible and came up with the "perfect" system, a bad GM or group could easily destroy any possibility of enjoying it.
  11. As far as the turret minigame went, I know it was insanely easy on the X-Box, but a lot of people were having real problems with it because of the interface in the PC version.
  12. I'll never forget the game where I got stuck behind a gizka upon entering the Ebon Hawk and absolutely could not move. I had to go back to my auto-save. *sigh*
  13. Any civilization that has existed for so long will experience decay and complacence at some point. I believe that's what happened to the Council.
  14. Oooooh, someone else who knows Michael Bell! I've been a big fan of his since the old days! He also played the lead "bad guy" in the pilot episode(s) of ST:TNG. Another good voice talent is Peter Cullen, who often worked with Michael Bell. He was the voice of Optimus Prime, for easy recognition. So far...I haven't seen any voices here to argue with...I love every single one mentioned...
  15. Dopey-Doh. I haven't had my coffee yet this morning. *sigh*
  16. Depends on the sections. Some you'll be able to do solo, some you will have to have certain party members in order to advance, as in K1.
  17. Heh, this character, Adria Teksuni, is a True Atlantean, actually. They're just fun. All the other TA's think she's nuts. I did the LARP thing a bit, as a Giovanni, I had a good time, but I'm much too lazy for that kind of thing on a regular basis. And yes, Geekdom is alive and well all over the world. You just have to look in the right hobby shops to find the collectives.
  18. Nice to know I'm not the only one perpetually behind the screen.
  19. ROFL!!!! I don't think we've reached Antichrist status just yet!
  20. Hee hee hee, yeah, Mrr'lyn managed to get his butt kicked in our Megaverse. Funnily enough, in an AD&D campaign about a decade ago, we'd stumbled onto this sword that said "Excalibur" and a bunch of other cryptic rubbish on it. We kept it because it looked neat and was magical. Imagine our surprise when we ran into New Camelot...My Chiang'Ku helped the PCs use Excalibur to get the REAL Merlin out of that stupid tree and he was rather not pleased... That was fun. My husband is the one who introduced me to gaming more years ago than I will say. It's nice when you're sleeping with the GM. Seriously, we've managed to build this enormously complex world that steals - er...draws from a wide variety of source material, including Marvel/DC, various anime, the Dune series, and thanks to KoTOR, now includes Star Wars. We're in Alpharetta, right outside of Atlanta, so unfortunately I don't see any pick-up games in our future. Right now we're involved with two majour campaigns, one is set in Heroes Unlimited, and is a blast and a half. The other is a "go get the artifacts, good boy!" quest where I randomly rolled a bunch of worlds to find the items. They just got back from Rokugan. Yeah, we have kiddos, and I'm convinced their teachers think we're Satanists...*sigh*
  21. I still have a group (two of them moved from Texas here to Georgia with us) that gets together semi-regularly for Rifts gaming, where we've incorporated a LOT of our previous gaming universes and characters. The getting older thing sucks. That whole "job" thing kind of blows for scheduling.
  22. And safe! Don't forget safe!
  23. Just curious, as Hades_One mentioned Cyberpunk, as to how many other PnPers there might be out there.
  24. IE and WE are integrally tied together. If something's wrong with IE, it can cause all KINDS of weird screw ups on your computer. Once my desktop wouldn't load due to an error, and I had to go back, download and install IE 4 then go back and get the latest IE just to fix it. What a pain.
  25. Pshaw, Hades, you know better than to ask that. Okay, good to know about the balance issue, thanks for posting it.
