  1. It won't. Just watch. It's a great answer though, akari. The framerate really wasn't THAT much of a problem anyway...
  2. My computer sucks, and from the sounds it makes when starting up these days... it might not even last til february. The framerate never bothered me in the first game anyway, and I was surprised that people even complained about it. And while the loading times are much faster for the PC version... everything else outweighs that, methinks, especially with the larger areas and such.
  3. It's very, very clear - if anything is in this pic - that Malak is one-on-one with the PC character and the other jedi are surrounding the PC character. Of course, if this is from a demo, the question is: Why put this in a magazine REVIEW? Not just a preview, mind you, to show the engine, but a review. Don't you think they would notice something this odd (it's not hard to tell that's Bastila and Malak) and report it to LA or something to make sure it was ok to put it in? There's a possibility it IS just stand-in models, but that's just sort of crazy to assume. However, any speculation at this point would probably be crazy to assume, although not crazy to speculate on...
  4. Here's what I can tell from the review: It's a better game, although the overarching story isn't quite as dramatic. That's pretty much what I expected. What amazes me is how inconsistent reviews are; the first KotOR shouldn't have had 10 in graphics, and with all the cheesy voice acting of the original it was surprising it had a ten in that category, too. The replayability of the first was also way over-hyped. I think the reviewers jsut liked the game, so they found ways to up the score. Halo 2 was sort of uninspired in certain ways (the ending really sucked; don't let them fool you), and I strongly think that they rated it so high just because of the title. And regardless, this really doesn't mean the dev's were lazy. It could be, "mean and pushy" publishers and the fact that the engine was already pushed close to it's limit. The reviewer's only see the final product, and (probably) do their best to review it "impartially". (considering this is a GAME, that's kind of hard to do. And really, who's complained about the graphics in CHESS in all these thousands of years? Hmm...)
  5. Yeah. Going through the ending over and over again was really maddening with all the cutscenes, having to wait through them. Especially the boring ones involving malak and his lackey. I thought I heard about Obsidian making the other side's motives less clear? Although I liked the first scenes with malak talking about , the ones with Calo Nord and Darth Bandon were lame and aggravating in their excruciatingly boring nature of mundane cruelty.
  6. Well, what they actually said can be given to interpretation. They said something like: "Try to save as many lives as you can, or get off PEragus." Then it said the choice was obvious, and they would save their own skin. While the bit about saving their own skin was worded in a way that made it sound like death was practically a given if you stayed, nothing in the situation stated really sounded like that. I'm too lazy right now to find the exact quote... but just so people know...
  7. He doesn't say anything new, and he says a couple things that seem patently false: "Jeremy Soule" is one, but that could be explained by him just blurring over who actually did it and assuming it was him again. I forgot what else is weird, but it overall seems perfectly plausible that he has a copy. He's a decent faker, if nothing else.
  8. The Mayan's didn't predict MY birth, so they really must be full of crap to say they know when the end of the world is.
  9. I think you guys are taking this whole "rushed" business too seriously. All they really meant to say, from what I can tell, is that you aren't going to have control over your planet-hopping for a while, and you won't really know what your ultimate goal is or even what will happen next. You'll have your back up against the wall from encounter's with the Sith (and maybe bounty hunters, as well). You'll feel like the enemy is moving against you, but you won't have any way to really push back. In my opinion, this is a good thing. This might mean you won't be able to accomplish every single quest on your first play through, but I'm also sure you'll have all the time you could possibly want to finish the quests you have.
  10. Perhaps there is conversation between two characters (a la Deus Ex) at the end of the game. Maybe they wrote a program that somehow made a unique ending based on all the factors Avellone listed. I can't wait to see what it actually is, whether it sucks or not...
  11. "11 lightsaber forms" was just sloppy writing. It's easy to see that that was likely the case, because no one really noticed it as odd, apparently, and everyone else has been saying 7 and 4.
  12. Maybe they meant only one real hand :/
  13. With all the stuff they've added, 100 + hours would really not be a surprise to me.
  14. Uhh... what? You don't have two hands as well??? Freak. (did I miss something?)
  15. especially if you were a Vogon! but yeah I would destroy the human race (not Earth) in a heartbeat too .. funny to think, if the common house fly would die, the entire fragile ecological system would collapse within days .. but if Humans die the Earth would actually benfit from it .. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahh crap, put away the fly swatters... Actually, humans aren't so bad as a race... it's just that their are too many of them. We need a good world war every now and then to trim the bushes, you know?
  16. Probably just to give some basic background, really. These stories could be leading up to chronicles that are closer to, and thus more relevant to, the time of KotOR II. Ulic and Exar kun are only mentioned so much because of how important they were, I strongly suspect, and because it would probably have to go into a lot more detail to really talk about the "smaller" folks of the era. As an example of WHY they'd be giving such background: Where did all of this start, really? Onderon. Interesting. That's a planet in the game. Doesn't it make it THAT much more important just that it was the start of the first Sith War? (besides the Hyperspace Wars, of course)
  17. They've said, in fact, that T3 has a lot more character this time around. Whether that's interesting character is up to you in December (or February, even).
  18. You know what's really fun to do, especially after you're sick of (or never really liked, for that matter) a particular game? Do something loud, obnoxious, and just plain rude with lots of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after it. Make's them look like their SHOUTING YOUR NAME, and your NAME IS REALLY LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. Yeah. Fun stuff. Maybe even just have your name BE lots of exclamation points. Suffice to say, I don't think it's under the policies of the forum for me to disclose the name's for character's I've used. In all seriousness, I'm not sure right now, and I plan on seeing the face I use before I decide on a name. I'm not thinking their face will look as the above might suggest, but at least I have something to fall back on just in case. Maybe Phtactlippltots or something. (I bet you wouldn't EVER have thought of tHAT One...)
  19. Is there such a thing? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Think about it, a world where no one who played Kotor 2 is ever seen or heard from again <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So *that's* the dark secret of this game, the big twist...
  20. It's something dark about his past, from what I can tell; there's no way you'll see it coming, although it won't have the same effect as it would've if you had just thought him a happy-go-lucky han solo type.
  21. What's the difference, really? Is "Planescape" Sigil and everything about it? I thought Planescape was about the planes themselves.
  22. Just make up something, because Lucas doesn't know himself.
  23. About the Jedi fighting you in that Sith looking place: I was thinking that they were all Jedi who had fallen to the dark side, in a state slightly before their fall? Interesting idea, I think.
