Do you get a backstab when you are within 2m of the target and are currently shadowing? I killed Helig last night with my party rogue and the MATH added up but the combat log did not say it was a backstab. I think it had to of been as the rogue is level 6 so his pistol is just a fine pistol. Max damage is 33 and hit Blindstrike crit from shadowing beyond for 69....That's a bit more then 100% weapon damage. In other instances where I am just sneaking with my party and backstab it is included in the combat log. Anyone know for sure?

This opinion is from a PoTD perspective so on easier difficulties I will agree that a defensively specced tank probably isn't worth it. But on PoTD I cant agree. Just MEAT SHIELD 3 Might tanks are useless. You can still bring a heavily defensive tank to the fight who can perform well offensively. You just have to play more offensively. My current Paladin: 12 Might, 14 Con, 16 Res, 16 Int the rest 10 (I know its a bit too much Int but I like my auras). Since I do not have high PER in damage dealing situations I use a single handed weapon for the added accuracy bonus. This also has the added effect of tricking the AI as I have much lower deflection this way. they start dog piling me and I switch to weapon and shield If I take to much damage. Also with FoD I am regularly critting in 50 to 60 range on medium DR targets thanks to Ravenwing. For a "Defense guy" this is more then pulling my weight. At this point 3 of them will stay on me while the extras have been mopped up by my off tank and dps. Also in Choke point scenarios like dungeons they can be used extremely well as which is obvious. Secondly, I have Eder who is a "damage dealing tank" he is right on my par with my rogue but I will tell you that even in plate since he is not defensively specced if it is more then 2 mobs he folds like a stack of cards. Also his Health gets into the yellow very quickly even with is high Con because hes not avoiding damage. IMO your tank just has to PLAY more offensively now not necessary be offensive as pure tank scenarios still exist cause of terrain and choke points. Or maybe I am terrible. lol

I had to kill Danna twice.

No problem I am currently at work. Once I get home I will get you a drop box file. Thanks again Celliot. -

Anyone else experience this? -
actually you are right. The second window did pop and since the quest was semi buggy I was in a hurry to get out of the window in case a crash came with it and didn't read it. That was it. Apologies for the mistake. And thank you for the post. PS Do I have to pay for dropbox or is there a free version somewhere? All these files are too large.

I would take more Con. I have a Paladin with 14 Con and damn good deflection and since you get hit a lot more you will do a bit more resting...unless you just do not take hits using CC. I like the rest of your build and it should work well. Agreed with the Circle of Protection issue that was mentioned above. May want to revamp maybe not depends on what abilities you are using and if you bring a Priest (I just love their buffs so I always do :/) PS The 10 con is fine especially if you have better CC then my party or can kill faster. Poison type mobs will just be annoying as you wont be avoiding poison cause of the Low Fort. It does raw damage so you will just have to rest more...unless again you don't take the hits at all.

If you want your Auras to effect your back line you definitely need Int. If you do not then 10 Int will suffice. Even at an 18 Int your aura is not 7 meters which Is what you want so your backline doesn't have to move to close to the front. I always go high Int because auras for me are what makes the Paladin along with long lasting buffs and of course tank king but that has nothing to do with Int. I take a hit to my Con for the higher Int and Leave it at 14. I Get higher through gear. I'm finding myself as a Paladin not dumping stats like Dex anymore. I hate the reflex hit now that I don't have Per to counter act it...My builds are more balanced. Which probably isn't a good thing. Also with the Nobles stay nerf in Bracken bury I've been taking a base of 16 Int. Probably too much for some people's liking.

Pump the brakes on #2 that's IS NOT a bug. That's exactly what those 2 shields DO. They are the only shields in the game with the HERALD enchant. THAT Enchant Specifically buffs the party with defensive stats. It even implied it in their lore story. These are the ONLY (not sure about white March gear ) shields in the game that provide these bonuses and they both have the HERALD enchant.

So I know the quest is kind of wonky right now and maybe I just missed something? (didn't on the other playthroughs) but after the entire cursor disappearing thing I gave Derrin the stoic response and just noticed that I never got the option to get the dagger off of his body. Is this part of the semi bugged quest or did I miss something this time? Unfortunately I always Play Trial of Iron so I cant reload. PS no big deal at the moment as at least you can still complete the quest. I just couldn't avenge Derrin.
