Appreciate the insight bud! I am going to dump Eder for this play through cannot fit him in although he has by far the most damage so far. I just have not picked up my Barb tank yet (no custom characters)...The group will lack a bit of precision as it has no good single target DPS other then a FoD...if I drop the Fighter. That being said I have a druid so I can Sun Lance anything that has a *must die now* label. My poor vancian casters are going to suck (so far) in POE 2 so I am getting as much use of them as I can now lol

Would you guys take Inspiring Triumph if you also have a Dragon Thrashed Chanter in the group? I previously had one in the group and the Chanter took most of the kills cause of his Chant even though the Paladin had Sacred Immolation. I think dragon thrashed has a lot more ticks while SI is a pulse. I was playing a Paladin at the time that did not have on kill effect abilities. I guess I just have to micro my Quick Switch shots a bit more to ensure that they kill a target? Thoughts? Is it a wasted ability point?

Ya My graphics are not blurry in 3.07 but I know yours are I’ve seen your posts. That’s weird, must be machine specific. Also the Sabre of the Seas “sharp” enchant that all Sabres have reads 135% on the weapon description. It’s a typo as on the character sheet damage display the “sharp” is the correct 20%. It also does the correct damage.

Dwarves request
Torm51 replied to Augusto's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ya I have to agree this is not Warhammer (I love warhammer) Dwarves (dwarfs?) Do not need to rock HUGE beards. -
This is my second fav class after the Paladin, awesome job. I just finished a similar Fighter Build with Eder, its damn effective. Oddly Enough I did NOT take Armored Grace and ended up with more damage then my last Fighter who did have Armored Grace. The only difference was I mastered Blessing for Durance instead of Armor of Faith as my Paladin took Zealous Endurance. Was that extra 10% damage on almost every encounter worth 16k damage? Thats how much the non Armored Grace Fighter beat him by.

Same here -
I was thinking (cause I am bored at work!), the order favors Honesty and Diplomacy but does not Disfavor Deception, just Cruelty and Aggression (makes sense they are Warrior Diplomats and as a whole seem to be good guys). Is this because in order to be a good diplomat and sometimes avoid bad consequences say a war or saving a hostage one might have to lie? I think is why. What do you guys think? I know we do not have much Lore on the order but this is my view Woops this is in the wrong forum I think..

Missing visitor to the Keep?
Torm51 replied to wanderon's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ya I have looked as well he is not there. -
So I’ve had play through a where I kept it and others that I did not. It was never a huge difference, so I say go for better cloak. It also depends on your party (if you have one). If you have a chanter and take the passive healing you definitely don’t need it. Constant Recovery is enough I think and if you get the upgrade to it even more so.

Sacred Immolation

I love that you are still on the color! I agree -
Yup. I think +10 Deflection for the party brings more to the table than a DoT lash. Still, there is nothing wrong with going Goldpact for Enduring Flames, but I think Shielding Flames works better with such a high INT. Shieldbearer order talents are ok for trash non boss fights but will not help AS you much in boss fights. Most of the Danger of the adds in boss fights is their CC not their auto attacks and their CC does not target deflection. Inspiring Triumph will help there though, In fact the only Dragon that targets deflection with its auto attacks is the Sky Dragon, the others target Fortitude (makes sense you are not going to physically deflect a paw from a 12 ton beast but i guess you can be HARD enough to just keep plowing through it...that is one hell of a workout program). On the other hand Enduring Flames will be REALLY good against the Alpine Dragon, useless against Llengrath if you fight, Ok against the Sky Dragon and once again useless aainst the Adra Dragon. GP Knight Bond of Duty is good but if you have a priest might not be useful other then in the Adra Dragon Fight but that is only if you are the tank and separated from the party which in this build you are not so it is not needed, especially if you have a priest. I like Liberating Exhortation better than reviving but that is me. If you have defense/offense debuffs like blind or a damage dealer on your team is out of the fight you can instantly get the back in the fight without debuffs and they are again hitting hard. There is also a strong hold quest (if you get lucky enough) that gives you an urn with 7 charges of reviving exhortation. That should be more then enough. Also priest abilities and scrolls...that being said Reviving Exhortation is the best rez in the game of all the abilities. Party members get up with full Endurance and only lose after a while and that is easily healable.

Sacred Immolation
Torm51 replied to Torm51's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
All high level abilities are not revealed, but in some of the new reviews I took a glance and find Charge of fighter is still there. So you can assume Sacred Immolation is still in, just come later. I also remember Josh said in one video about new resource system about you can spend all your Zeal for FoD, but in that way you cannot use the more powerful abilities like Sacred Immolation and blah blah blah. There you go about Fighter high level abilities, Charge is a level VIII ability, so I'd say Sacred Immolation comes in similar level. Might be level VIII as Fighter's Charge so only single class Paladins have access to it. I also suspect things like Heart of Fury will be a level VIII ability for Barb, we will see Ya thinking about it you are right. He did say that. Hmmm I had fully planned on for sure multiclassing my Paladins based on the info in these forums as it seems single classes stink atm. But if level 7 abilities are that good and are a staple it’s something to think about. My fav classes are Fighter and Paladin and my favorite abilities they have are charge and sacred Immolation! I’d be missing both if I multi class Got the Paladin tree by any chance?!?! -
Is it out in Deadfire? I was looking from the POE 2 wiki which obviously is not complete and will be outdated and do not see the ability! That would be unfortunate..likely another cut/nerfed ability cause of multi classing if it is out. A multi class Barb with Sacred Immolation would be pure destruction. Bah I did not want multi classing for reasons like this. If my suspicions are true!

Paladin Order Talents
Torm51 replied to Murp's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I liked them both I like the different take POE has. To each his own -
Hell yes. I’m currently in a run with a Wood Elf Shieldbearer. When shooting (for your build always for mine quick switch) with 5 PER you will have the ACC of a char with 10 PER and with Sworn Enemy forget about it! +25 total per plus priest buffs. PS I tested this Zealous Focus’ ACC buff gets suppressed when you fire FoD. It acts as a Disciplined Barrage when you fire FoD when adding the inherent +20 ACC to the ability. So what gets added is your base ACC with PER and your weapon focus if you have any. For you that’s still +20 from FOD, + 5 from PER+5 From racial + 15 from Sworn Enemy and + 6 if you take a weapon focus play the +1 every class gets to every ability on level up!

If you aren’t a dump stat guy (I’m the same as you) I like the 3 fives and a three rule. Fives in your major stats and 3 in the minor. 15 might 10 Con 13 Dex 15 Per 15 Int 10 Res I think would be great for a ranged Paladin, the PER with sworn enemy it’s more then enough on the marked target. Yeah well... I can tolerate an 8 in a stat but not less and not on many stats... so your set is ok, or you can bring res or con to 8 if you want... Ya you can definitely play with that as you see fit. I just hate dumping resolve on a Paladin for LolRP reasons. Chicken **** Paladins are dumb lmao but that’s just me.

It is definitely good for all of these reasons. So go for it. Being free to use Lay on Hands wherever is really good. Front line Paladins really shine in supporting melee classes like Monks, Barbs and Fighters with their abilities and obviously being a sturdy front liner which is what they do best. They obviously support the entire group in other ways but like we said cause of ranged issues it can be tricky sometimes. That being said a quick switch pally which I always play has no issues landing buffs on the backline cause I take Quick Switch and the Belt from the WM that reduces switch times. They stack so everything is instant I fire the buff and go back into melee. Disengagement is ignored by my Paladin cause things do not hit me hard. Its also a GREAT trick for casting quick Lay on Hands or an Exhortation. If you are in the middle of a recovery from an attack quick switch cast instantly and go back to your main weapon. Ranged guys can use this too. PS I do not know if it is a bug but AOE buffs like Sword and the Shepherd and Shielding Flames (not strange mercy) either do not benefit from INT AOE range or it is a very tiny base radius cause the radius of those buffs are not stated in the game. So ya those are better for a Paladin in the middle of the group anyway.
