Yes, deflection gets attacked more but it is not dangerous so if you take a hit no big deal. It is usually auto attacks from Kith which can be mitigated with DR and passive healing they have similar stats to you so their minimum damage is not dangerous. A lot of CC abilities attack Fort and Reflex (some Will) and if you get CCed your defenses will be so low it wont matter how much deflection you have and you will eat bad crits. Also if you get into a situation where a Dragon Breath goes off it targets Reflex even a graze can be superbly painful from that. I think in those terms because those are the only bad guys that really threaten an ironman run at this point for me. Remember if a dragon is auto attacking you it targets your Fort not deflection.

So I am pretty big completionist and I cannot see why a Bleak Walker would do anything but chase the antagonist until he was dead. But I really want one last play through with some not so nice guy endings as I have never seen them before also I want POE 2 with decisions from the WM 2 made. I wish the White March was an adventure after the main game was over would of made more sense. Oh well. I guess maybe for monetary reasons? They are Mercenaries, Completing side tasks would give your order some prestige? I hate mental gymnastics! PS. I also think they did a bleh job with Goldpact Knights. All of them attack you on sight if you are one. I cannot see a Mercenary Organization going very far if they fought each other. PS PS I know the game says the Darcozzi sometimes fight each other but it makes sense, they serve a fractured noble family.

Get another bow there are other superior War Bows, check out the bounties from Cad Nua for one or look up Cloud Piercer it’s exceptional quality and really good, you can make it superior or like Boer said just deal with the Micro and have everyone re-attack the confused target.- 7 replies

I think Torm51 was just making a joke that he had achieved the forum rank 'Necromancer' and I had just necro'ed a two month old thread with my suggestions. At least if I read into his response correctly. Hopefully he can correct me if that is not accurate. That being said your group of mastered spells are good. Binding Web I under utilize but I like it.

This Is all great stuff since I’m such a Paladin fan lol I have to somehow get ride of my Outworn Buckler I always end up playing sword and board with the Paladin cause it’s so good, when I have a 2 handed I miss the high saves so I always end up just quick switching to an Arbalest for high alpha then ASAP back to my buckler and marking weapon lol
-
I’d do it backwards I like fighter as damage dealer off tanks and Paladins as the tank. Fighters get better deflection but that’s it, Paladins with full Faith and Conviction get way higher Fort, reflex and will which is much more important, especially fort. If you are disabled how much deflection you have is irrelevant and Paladins are way better at avoiding CC. Fighter is also a better DPSer with thins like Disciplined Barrage and Weapon Masteries. With Charge they will beat a Paladin with Sacred Immolation in DPS. Whatever you decide either will work though.

Ever the Paladin here, Zealous Charge (zealous retreat Lol) can help you get out fights you don’t want to be in. With defensive mind web late game it can be really good, like boer said and summons chanter can be good. You could use the run speed chant instead of zealous charge but it’s not instant like ZC is.
-
What difficulty do you play on? Cause on normal and hard you could solo it with a chanter who uses a wand and only the skeleton invocation. People complaint about rogues is on PoTD where Enemy ACC and Defense is higher so they cant kill stuff as fast making rogues softness hurt more , late game there damage is good but not great. That being said i have found good uses for rogues in my parties also on PoTD so I think people just bitch when the class isn’t 100% optimized.

Speaking of backgrounds, I can never play a Bleak Walker because I like to complete mosts (not all if they go against Disposition or Paladin order ethos which most do not) because I cannot see a Bleak Walker going off and doing side quests. The actual Ethos is for the enemy to surrender or they all die. With being that type of person I just cant see a Bleak Walker taking a detour to the White March before Act 3 This is why I would liked the White March as an adventure after act 3. The rest of the Paladins I Could see it. Kind Wayfarer: wonderers, guides of people to safe places, good guys if a bit hot headed Shieldbearer: Diplomats and GUARDIANS, I could see them lending a hand to a small village in need for a source of income Darcozzi: General witty good guys who love life, They would help a down on its luck village to help it survive and seem like they are the type that love adventure (my interpretation anyway), I would not say they are total good guys but their order disfavors Cruel so I dont think they like bad guys lol Goldpact Knight: Lets make money.

Honestly, I usually play a Super Quick Switch Paladin (stack the belt and quick switch) and I never take a weapon focus. With Sworn Enemy and the + 20 ACC to FoD , plus the +1 ACC FoD gets every level it’s more then enough. If you have debuffs on the target even more so. To qualify the above statement I will you that I always play PoTD so the enemies have heightened defenses and I still hit easily with no weapon focus and a 10 Per. If you are a wood elf Paladin it’s even better, you have +5 to every shot more than 4m away so it’s like having an extra + 5 PER. But that being said even without a Wood Elf you are good. It’s more then enough. PS I play a Super Quick switch Paladin because I don’t play with recovery bars visible and if I have not seen when I last attacked i can’t estimate when I am going to do an ability again. So I Quick switch if I need to lay on hands or give an Exhortation as with quick switch and the belt it’s almost instantaneous no matter where you are in the recovery. It’s also faster to get back to my marking weapon and Outworn Buckler which is more important. In my case.

It will work Assuming you are getting FoD at one. I’d get righteous soul over healing chain. Fear and Terror can kill your DPS. You can use scrolls to make yourself immune but while you are using scrolls you aren’t fighting. This ability will also make mind control spells irrelevant. A party member can cast a scroll on you as well but I don’t like wasting other party members time on sureing up weaknesses of a character. I’d get rid of: The black path (lots of things are immune to fear, like too many) Since you are doing a one handed build ya Critical Focus is ok. By itself it stinks but if you stack it with other hit to crit its fine. Reviving Exhortation is good but can be replaced by: An urn that you get from a random stronghold quest with 7 charges (should be enough) that gives you that ability. Priest and chanter have Rez also but it is worse then the Paladins as allies need to be healed ASAP, while a Paladins Rez gives immediate full endurance and loses Endurance after a certain period. No risk of re knock out when you get back up. I’d take instead Liberating Exhortation, it clears debuffs which reduce your ACC which will kill your DPS. Priests have AOE debuff suspension but it’s a small Aoe with a short duration even with high INT, the Paladins is single target but lasts for 20 sec with 10 INT.

That's not the right way to defend Obsidian of their bugs lol very true -

While my game is not perfect I never ran into these weird things because I have never save/reloaded, weird benefit of TC. Like this or the bug back when WM first came out where the golems in Galvinos house got too powerful after every reload. -
And the ones in the White March are just out right evil lmao. Cult of Dragon worshippers who burned down villages, Aedyrn's with too much money that murder people for sport (purgers lmao), Crazed Berathians who think its their job to keep the wheel fed and turning, Magranites who are pyromaniacs burning down more villages lol etc. and that Cipher who is just going around with his group trying to make people kill themselves lmao they are all crazies. I think my point is Obsidian did a good job with the bounties as even good RP characters can do them save maybe two and even those two seem like evil people. Now yes if you hate the Deomenels no matter what even if they are after an evil wizard your char couldnt RP that. But it is only one quest and yes it will sit in your log lol
-
Eh most if not all of those characters are nasty things, so I don't see why not. Run away murderers, Xaurip trying to nest with a Dragon, Swamp things attacking trade caravans, Trolls with Wild druids, Slavers, Pirates, Fampyrs, a serial killer eothasian priest and a law breaking looting Chanter. The only two that are not possibly bad is the Vithraks and The cabal of wizards. But you can RP those easily with the full intention of talking and they do not let you! Also the wizards are tinkering around in a very dangerous ruin, even if you destroyed it.
