This is going to be my Chanter on my first play through: I wrote her background here: http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/71117-what-will-be-your-first-player-character/?p=1585788 -
You know what will piss me off? A bad game. Getting it a few days after some press/LPers is no big deal. We were told months ago we would get the game on March 26th and we will get it on that date. I fail to see anything about that anywhere that is even slightly irritating much less piss off worthy. Good for those reviewers and LPers but I have zero desire to become either of those things so I have no desire to reap the "benefits" as humble as they are. I guess I can see getting furious if they delayed the date we are getting it so the press/LPers could review it but they are not doing that. We are getting it exactly when we were promised.

It is on time, no release date was ever mentioned as definitive until the 26th of March. On the 26th of March it will be released. Before then it was rough estimates. I don't know why now, months after the release date was announced, we have all this butthurt about it. What? Months was not sufficient for absorbing this information? People cannot wait a few days? Not necessarily directed at you Ark Evenson, I think you were just kidding around

How do you know this? We were told by Obsidian there was going to be pre-loading. There is no pre-loading yet but they have not even handed out the keys to the backers yet. -
His father was a general during the French Revolution, I put a picture of him up earlier. He is the only black French Major General in history, or at least the only one to lead soldiers into battle. His mother was a slave in what is today Haiti and his father was a French noble which created the perverse situation that in the Caribbean he was a slave but in France he was an aristocrat. Fortunately his father moved back to France and he entered the military like a noble do. The rest is history.

True. The equestrian class, which was a hilarious anachronism from the time of the Punic Wars onwards. I think you have it backwards though, they served as the cavalry because they could afford a horse. By the time the state starting providing military gear they had long since become a social class without necessarily a military role.

Ok this is bugging me. It is SAINT Maurice. A 3rd century Roman did not hold any knighthoods. And all those pictures were made about a thousand years after he lived, but he did come from southern Egypt so... But even if he was not black skinned, the Medieval Europeans liked to think he was which is probably more important.

Modern history TEACHING is a thumbnail sketch of a thumbnail sketch, it can never cover much or be expected to be comprehensive about anything. I do not really understand people's obsession with it, it is like criticizing school age math for not teaching complicated cutting age mathematical theory. Obviously with an international club like the nobility lots of interesting things happened, likewise with a huge Empire like the Roman Empire.
