  1. Well they could be more involved. Obviously for a demo they chose something easy to show. We really have no idea but will be finding out soon. But they were not going to show detailed quests from the actual game, that would be spoilery. So they showed this little feature.
  2. It is optional side content to get a few tough fights and review old areas. They are exactly what they wanted for the people who want that sort of thing. If you want actual encounters with plots and all that then you shouldn't do them. The game will have tons of what you want. What you saw are not the quests in the game. At all. It was a new feature we were not aware of as a little bonus. Or rather that is my guess. But we will know all about it in just a few weeks.
  3. There may not be that many strongholds available. Besides if you start thinking about things to this extent nothing we really do in a RPG makes much sense. I mean why not form a party of 100 people to invade that dangerous dungeon? Why only take 6?
  4. I think the menus are just there for convenience, not as a replacement for any interaction with the stronghold.
  5. LOL at declaring arbitrary universal standards of pricing which all companies supposedly follow, and pilloring Obsidian for not following them, but declaring all comparable products by every other company irrelevant. Only Obsidian and Obsidian alone must comply with these "universal" standards. Yeah right.
  6. Well besides that 15 level super dungeon beneath it. I am sure there is no story at all behind any of it.
  7. Many of NPCs in BG1 also break 4th wall if you click on them long enough. I never tried it in BG2. 'What is this mouse magic that makes me do your bidding?'
  8. This stronghold will be the beginning of my character's thousand year dynasty. So I plan to take it pretty seriously. Of course I may have something more important to do, depending on the plot.
  9. Didn't they do this in the IE games? I thought it would be annoying but it never was.
  10. It kind of looks like you want to create your 8 soulless adventurers anyway (unless you name one Jimmy Early since Jimmy got soul) to act as your stronghold personnel even if you do not plan on taking one along. Sounds like Eothas and my character have the exact same issue and goal. We should get along well.
  11. Yeah they were level 7 doing low level stuff. But then you don't want a party wipe on a demo.
  12. Man that looked like a blast to play. Good job Obsidian!
  13. Of course this being a single player game if you want to play a shape shifting Druid or a Ranger it still might be a lot of fun. It is not like you have to worry about being worthless to the big raid guilds.
  14. That design decision was why I decided not to play a ranger. That sounded like a huge weakness and it seems like it is.
  15. Yeah don't go with another class, Druids are one of the best classes in the game.
  16. Eventually there will be extensive online guides to getting that achievement.
  17. Not being offensive is a very daunting task these days.
  18. I like your's Bruce you are very entertaining, self aware, and intelligent. But anyway there should be a ton of people around here soon. Be interesting to see how that changes things.
  19. Well we know each Dragon will have a legion of Xaurips to deploy so they are not that lonely. Not sure how good company Xaurips are though.
  20. I was kidding....mostly. The things I have seen from DA:I seemed to be pretty spicy.
  21. Oh I thought you literally meant it has become like porn. Those Bioware sex scenes could get pretty explicit.
  22. We shouldn't work to get products we want to buy funded and on the market because....we all want actual Capitalism? What if I do not care about ideological naval gazing? And your examples of the cell phone and internet are just hilarious. Go found your perfect Capitalist commune someplace else. I am so terrified of Obsidian with their absolute control and monopoly.
  23. I do not think it is a good idea to assume anything about the main character in a game where you can create your own. If I was playing a premade character, like in an adventure game or something, then I would not have a problem with there being a set heterosexual or homosexual romance at the heart of the game. If you are making a RPG and you are going to have romances well you are going to at least need to satisfy the big four (heterosexual male, female and homosexual male and female). IMO.
  24. I don't know. A beautiful love story was at the heart of my hardy band of companions. And Gromnir is awesome.
  25. If it counts, Valmy, then every RPG ever created has a romance in it. And incidentally, it also means that it's not a matter of PoE maybe having a Romance in it. PoE DOES have a romance in it. There's one in the Beta. I don't recall one in The Bard's Tale except my deep romance with the twisty roads of Skara Brae. But yes, that was basically my point.
