I have offered to let one of the programmers on my payroll to work full time on finishing this project and have each time been ignored. They clearly do not want the project finished quickly and Darth "I'm-on-the-beta-team-who-wants-to-touch-me" Windu berated me for even offering my time and money, (for free on top). I may or may not just have my people finish this mod based on the leaked beta during the summer, depending on my resources and inclination. Big words, you better deliver. No really, i am rooting for you, the more competition, the better.

I am already intruiged to give it a try.

Hum, i have some problems with a meritocracy: 1) Ass***** and general bad people are rewarded in the current system, since they can lie, cheat and abuse peolpe's trust in something good. The good guy, like anyone else, always has faults, which are deliberately exploited by the bad guys. The regular Joe with the "live and let live"-attitude will not get anywhere in politics, since they can't and will not start a war against poverty, drugs, terrorism and whatnot. Point being, a meritocracy benefits only those that are most eager to govern everybody else. Not exactly a dreamscenario. 2) Meritocracy might work in sensere environment with an informed public, which is exactly why i am against it. The political environment is neither sensere, nor is the public informed enough to work as a watchdog or understanding the issues at hand in the longer term.

Accounting can surely be strange at times. I had an exam in an accounting-course once (wanted to try it out for a change of pace), leaving me flabbergasted and completely uninterested. I scraped by and asked the examinator, while giving the test, that hopefully he will make something out of it. He answered that it looked quite ok. I got 98% My friend, who really was interested in accounting, and later got a Master's Degree in Economics after his Bachelor's degree in Engineering, thought that he excelled as well, but only got "measly" 80%. He still brings it up sometimes; "How the hell did that s*** happen?". Then we usually laugh and continue drinking. I wish that would've gotten the same results in my Engineering studies on Master's Degree-level, alas, it only happened way too rarely to affect my mean score.

Eh, has anyone actually seen the contract between EA and Bioware? Or was it even made public? Otherwise, we're just grasping straws.

Baten Kaitos Origins. I had to import the damn thing. But it manages to do something different/better than other games: A truly creative and beautiful world, with interesting gameplay to boot. Do i need to mention that you don't play the main character, rather playing a separate soul that gives him guidance? That way, they interact directly to the screen. E.g. "What to do YOU think that we should do?". And the music......aaah

Where's the "Available in PC/XBOX360/PS3/Wii/PS2/DS"-sign? Hmmmm? Come on EA, you can't be that much of an Xbot, can you? You used to be so cool and friends with every platform that's out there. And i clearly hope that Pidesco is wrong about the story, that would be way too predictable. Shepard transferring his brain to a geth sounds better though. Then we would be seeing Robo-human-alien sex, which would almost be Japan-territory. That would be awesome.

Monte Carlo is on the right trail to awesomeness. And Mickey Rourke in the The Expendables?... Awesome, awesome, awesome.

I actually have that edition. The illustrations are very beautiful to look at you're reading.

How about the record/movie companies setting up their own torrent tracker(s) and gather income from the ads/extra merchandise and whatnot? Also, they could have extra offers for special packaging and other goodies for the collectors as well. Is that a terrible businessidea? Wouldn't it be profitable?

It's wonderful world!

Hum, the second iteration of a game that i have never heard of. Not that interesting, really. Can't wait for his Street Fighter IV/Killzone 2-review though.

I don't know how many study points are required for the PhD, but for the Bachelors degree, the first three years, 360 study points are required and must be completed in the form of 24 units, 12 major, 6 minor and 6 elective, some of the major units alone are 30 points, some 15, fact of the matter is the major on its own won't be enough to accumulate the required amount of study points and even if it was, the minors and electives must be done, which will more than likely exceed the required study points but that doesn't matter, it's completing all necessary units that's important, so I would imagine that, while the PhD only takes two years, it's going be a lot in just that time and not spaced out over 3 or 4 years. As for keeping lectures and correcting course assignments, I have no idea, most of the lectures aren't necessary to attend is all I know about that. 360 credits/study points? 30 points per course? How many hours is spent weekly in lectures and homeassignments? I did a 10sp course in marketing (just for kicks) and that involved a weekly assignment (apprx 8 hours/week), two 2 hour lectures and a weekly groupmeeting on an imaginary company (4 hours/week). This course lasted half the school-year and ended with an exam. I am just trying to understand your system, that's all. And taks, I hope that you're ok now, that period sure didn't sound to healthy

Heh, i read some newsbit about one of the founders doesn't even believe in the concept of copyright. This kind of "Voluntary paying" that he subscribes to, should have be implemented into the banking sector. Maybe there wouldn't be a crisis after all And Hurlshot, from what i gather about swedish law, prison time or jail will probably not happen unless someone can point out that they have deliberately stolen industrial- or statesecrets or any other highly classified material and spread them on PirateBay.

Your very genetical sequence in your chromosomes is pretty unique

It's more a matter of they don't have a choice, they can only spawn what they can fit in memory, as the car you're driving has to be in memory it becomes used more often by default. This free's up bandwidth for streaming the world basically. I for one, interpret the above sentence as discrimatory against consoles. In this day and age, there are and should be no limitations on what a console can achieve with its memory. I hereby report you to the nearest officer of political correctness.

PhD in just 2 years? How many studypoints are required? How many studypoints do you usually get per course? Do you have to keep lectures? Correcting course-assigments? For me, it would've been 60 studypoints (about 3-5sp per course), having to lecture 2-3 courses per year, then i would have to do some research as well. The professor told us that, if we were interested, it would take atleast 3-3,5 years. Most people spent 4-5 years though. Suffice to say, i wasn't that interested. But this was of course at the Engineering/Computer Science department.

Balls and bewbs. Every thread inevitably leads to our collective instinct: Screwing each other over, over, over.....and over again.

Hey, i have a slight positive outlook after reading the descriptions of each 'origin'. Quite Witcher-esque, i gather.

I can agree. I attended some accounting courses for my secondary subject, Industrial Management, and i was quite suprised by the possibilites of evading tax with some clever accounting.

I played with my girlfriend's new laptop, works better and has better specs than her desktop-computer. I also realized that i accidently started to wizzle "Happy Days" while at work. People are starting to think that something is wrong with me. I laughed.

In this world of Myspace and Facebook, we are all each other's peer. Almost one, like John Lennon prophecised.

Sounds like you're suffering from Campus-fever. I have many friends with the same kinds of symptoms: Sleep deprivation, motivational problems, you name it. They will dissappear when: 1) ...you start doing research at the University and have to meet/talk with people everyday. 2) ...you have finished your degree and have started at your first job, where you have to meet/talk to people and actively have to participate in meetings. 3) ...you participate in student activities, clubs, and whatnot. You usually have to talk/meet all the time. Noticed a pattern? Daily routines and constant interaction. Worked great for my friends. Personally, i am to carefree about almost anything that happens to me personally, which i think that made that i never sunk into Campus-fever. Makes me girlfriend almost insane though when i seem to be having little to no troubles in life. - "What do you want to do with your life?" - "I dunno, i go with the wind. It is usually exciting when you have no idea about what will happen next" - "Aren't you worried about your carreer?" - "I dunno, i get the cash, don't i?" - "What about your dreams?" - "Hum, i got a work, and if i save money, i usually achieve them" - "What?" - "You know, travel somewhere, see my favourite bands, meet new people." - "Aaaaargh!"
