Grrrr jury duty
You've never heard of estonia? the tiny former soviet country that's on the leading edge of where russia is now? I can't say I blame him, half of Europe can't tell the difference between Estonia and Iceland... And I was just kidding about the crazy part. I can see the point of a jury, it just seems like a relic of earlier times, considering that it's just annoying to most(some) people now. Here's an idea: we have e-voting with mobile phones and the internet, how about you make an e-jury where you can just vote over the internet? I see a good framework here, maybe it would prove to be more popular than American Idol. - "The defendant declared has himself(herself) innocent. The rest is up to you, at home. (ATM callercard required, callers from Missouri do not qualify). This.....is American Federal Court!" - "In this latest episode, being the most intense one yet. The perticipants haven't slept more than 4 hours during Washington week. We have tales of sorrow, happiness, and even moments when things go too far. This....is American Federal Court! Presenting the judges: The proffessional Jackson, calling out to his dogs! The ever beautiful Abdul, always forgiving, and ofcourse out favourite.....Judge "Straight-talk" Cowell!" I am willing to sell this idea for 300 000 now, and for 10% of any future revenue. Any takers? Any takers?

Dragon Age Discussion
I have to be honest. At first, i thought that the second screenshot was from a completely different game, namely one such featuring anime-influenced emos, bitter and angry about the lack of furries. Then i realized that it was Dragon Age, it was all fine

A symbolic 'tar and feather' would be nice. Think of the headlines that would make. Even if you would go to jail, it would almost be worth it.

That's easy. As long as the cost of producing a port is less than the revenue, it will be done.

Speaking of executive bonuses, i stumpled upon this link. It reminds me of what my professor in finance once said long before the crisis started, something in the vein of: "The very reason on why executives are payed these ridicolous amounts of bonuses, are to ensure that they don't quit and start to speculate on the company's stock themselves. In this case, bonuses are given in order keep up with the gap that a private investor would potentially earn. The instruments on how to measure these 'gaps' may vary, but the board usually take the safe route and pay more, and in some cases, a lot more than what could be earned at the stockmarket." Moral of the story? The system is built upon awarding the bad guys at the expense of the good guys.

Hottest place on Earth
Good lord no. Just no. Suffering very hot weather can be unpleasnt to be sure, especially if the humidity is high and you don't have air conditioning, which I didn't for many years, BUT, oh my god, nothing is worse than having to suffer extremely cold weather. Even with heat. Imagine trying to live through -12c weather if you had no heat. That would be a lot more hellish than living through 38c weather with no AC. We have no A/C, so hot weather makes any living above 30 degrees celsius impossible. However, we have central heating (i have experienced -40 degrees celsius btw) which makes it comfortable to be inside. Besides, if you're outside in the cold, you can always add another layer of clothes in order to keep warm. In hot weather, you strip all your clothes, but then it is of no use, you're litterally boiling up with no where to go. No thank you.

Will there be Next-Gen consoles at all?
True, but it is a tad difficult to explain to those, who are not belonging to the PC-superhumanmasterrace, that 64-bit computers are not twice as fast. They also have a difficulty to grasp the whole "2^32 times more adress-space" either. I usually go with: "Well, with 32-bit processors, you usually could do a couple of things at the same time. But 64-bit you can do sh*tload more, but do not get fooled by the numbers, they're just there to confuse you, the actual amount is actually immeasurable"

Dragon Age Discussion
It is simple, never expect anything when working within a company. Always prepare for the possibility of people missing deadlines, features being removed/changed and milestones not being met, and act accordingly.

WHat do you mean exactly? It is a game that is rated 7+ after all. I need to clarify this further perhaps; He mentioned that he and the developers of LBP have disagree about how they percieve people. The folks at LBP thinks that, according to him, that everyone is a precious artist, waiting for their creativity to bloom. Yatzee however, think that everyone is a "tosser". This is heavily extrapolated into the game-experience as well. Since they disagree on such a fundamental issue, he can't really rate it or review it properly. He even admits the level-design is really good, but he can't enjoy the game itself. It is simply not his 'type' of game.

Sheesh, sucks to be in Australia atm. I rather have a really cold weather, since you can always add another layer of clothes, than an extremely warm one.

TSL Restoration Project: The Phantom Deadline, READ FIRST POST BEFORE POSTING
Oh, i get it. There has been so much progress that team-gizka has leap-frogged from the space-time dimension as we know it, and entered the 11th dimension instead. There, the very laws of physics sease to exist and the only way to move forward is to work in inverse instead. More issues, closer to release!

Nah, i do that myself, but i huge hands to boot. I am more accustomed to play on my 7-string, since it fits my hand more naturally. 6-strings usually feel to tiny.

Any good games coming out?
Seconded. But the whiners coming out of the woodworks are just part of the natural reaction any successful product has. It's the same reason people feel the need to complain about The Dark Knight. I, for one, am not coming out. I have always been a vocal member of the "ME:boo"-club

Haha. Well, it has to be when places like South Korea are announcing 1 Gbps connections for all their citizens by 2011 (true story). Actually, they delayed it to 2012
