  4. Oh, and the obligatory "America the beautiful"

  6. I am currently playing Mass Effect 2 for the first time and i noticed one or two things that they could do to improve ME3, aside from adding more customization or removing probing planets: Make the scope a bit more grander, not just like one long mission. Another thing that greatly bothers me is that you have whole universe but you are usually restricted to a couple of planets for exploration. Almost each planet has an interesting story behind it: A biological or physical phenomonom that science can not fully explain, a culture of primitive creatures that would make zoologists jump out of their seats and civilizations that have come and gone under mysterious (often apocalyptic) circumstances. Exploring these environments would greatly add a sense of adventure, exploration and the feeling of an unending universe. Also, it would do wonders for an RPG if the player can learn something about himself and about humanity through discovery of other these planets and environments. Instead the scope seems to be that you have to fight the Reapers' secondary command: The Collectors, but you are allowed choose on how you fight them. Seems a bit too narrow for me. The scope aside, the gameplay feels like Deus Ex in space with more dialogue options and less (alot) exploration.
  7. I greatly appriciate the 'Codex as a social experiment with a truly open forum. I visit it daily but i never post there. If someone wants to say "i am open for free speech buuut...", i gladly direct them to the 'Codex. What is so great about is that there is no other site where neonazis, crypto-muslims, trannies, basement dwellers and even developers discuss the merits of an RPG with each other. When there's little to no moderation, there can be a lot of dung, but when there's something good, it really is as Jaesun says: a diamond. I also think that i get some schaudenfreude from people posting there under the pretence that if someone says something inflammatory, then a moderator must come and smite those people. They usually make great fool of themselves when they realize that such speech is actually permitted there and often get the 'Codex Hivemind lashing back at them for not being able to find a decent counter-argument. As some would say there: "Butthurt detected".
  8. Even if there is a solution that would prevent Greece from defaulting, there still has to be a complete overhaul on how the greeks handle their social contract with the state. Those politicians didn't fall from the sky, they are greek people from greek families with greek values.
  9. Not really. But people on coke tend to act like hyperventilating **** that no one wants around so they would probably be thrown out either way.
  10. Irrelevant. I kick out those who misbehave.
  11. I must have missed out on some drama. Me too. Linky?
  12. Most of the songs posted in this thread, with the exception of The Prodigy, reminded me how i hated to be a teenager in the '90s.
  13. Those specs just doesn't sound "Nintendo-ish". Look more like an internal proposal that later got trimmed.
  14. Yeah, especially subtle with the soundtrack. "War Pigs", geddit? *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*
  15. I agree. I mean, we already have to technology to switch from Uranium to Thorium nuclear, but noooo. And where is the political will for nuclear fusion? Outside of the scientific community, there is none.
  16. At least the russians are very happy about this Truth to be told, i find it kind of alarming if Russia and China will become the big power houses in terms of providing electrical power to the rest of the world. People seem to forget what kind of political power that it holds.
  17. You are now unmasked as Volo's alt and I claim my five electrum pieces. R00fles! Seriously, can you point out any major design flaws? Apart from the dull enemy waves there was nothing that stood out as annoying or fun breaking. I am in an pretty bad mood at the moment (I tried to do a Robocop trilogy marathon but could hardly finish the second, what were they thinking?!) so i will keep it short: 1) One city with no variation 2) Reuse of areas 3) Wave of enemies 4) Having to fight enemies in carefully selected places with invisible boundries 5) Having a personal story that spans 7-8 years but only being able to be bad, witty or good + it is told by another narrater is exactly how you should NOT design it
  18. Before release he was proud of the streamlining, and now he is sorry for it. I do not think that the guy is completely honest here.
  19. Oh come on, they're making a movie of Tin-Tin? I bet that they will censor every curse word that Hadock says
  20. Welcome back Mus! In other news, the assistant head coach of the finnish hockey team celebrated the victory the finnish way: getting ****faced drunk and falling out of the plane.
  21. Yeah, i have to agree that this was probably one of the worst Eurovisions that i have seen. Almost every single song lack a good melody, sheesh. Do anyone here actually remember Italy for example? Azerbaijan or whatever the country is called had a song that sounded like something the swedes would use as a B-side.
  22. Jesus, i wrote some jibberish first in finnish and then in swedish yesterday. Sorry for the confusion. kirottu: Nice timing there
  23. I am posting drunk, but i'll give it a try: Kyl oli hyv
  24. I completely forgot that they sang anything at all actually. I just saw two leprechauns with a hello kitten version of warhammer 40k power armors on them jumping around the stage. I like how the french sent something like to d
