  1. I'd wager heavily he won't tell us jack until it's officially announced. That's just the way things work. *shrug*
  2. Now that would be a nice touch. But then again, that presumes the Sith Lords are beat on a linear route; i.e. I kill this Sith Lord, then this one, and then this one. I get the impression we'll get to go after whichever one we think is prudent at the time.
  3. My expectations are at rock bottom. It won't be difficult for Episode III to meet them...and if Lucas pulls off a miracle and exceeds them, I'll be the first to give him kuddos for it. But I've been let down twice. It won't happen again.
  4. Just as noteworthy: the look on her face. It looks like she just tripped or something, with the way she's staring at the ground rather than keeping her eye on her opponent.
  5. They can't fight, they can't shoot straight....and goddang but they can't hold their liquor. At least they sound soooo refined with those english accents...but then again that also means they can't cook.
  6. Why not become an accountant? Accountants tend to be farther away from guys who randomly use Force Choke on people just for kicks. It would still be more profitable to join the Republic. Again, you get the same benefits, plus Light Side Jedi are less prone to kill you for no reason. This makes the most sense; food, money, plus you get to move up a notch on the food chain (Sith force users are still above you, but hey, at least you can push around the common SOB on the street.) Then again, I'd think the end result of this would be that, whenever the going got tough, Sith troopers would drop their guns and run away with their tails between their legs. "Hell, I didn't sign up for this!" Pretty much same answer to this as to the second one. *shrug* The Sith of KOTOR and KOTOR II have kind of a rough time making a case for their fight; unlike the Empire of the OT, they don't have the whole 'fighting for peace and order against traitors and rebels struggling against the legitimate government' line working for them. Making sense of their cause is thus a bit more difficult....
  7. I bet the folks who invested in Daikatana ended up pretty unhappy.
  8. I often wondered how stable morale was on the Leviathan after that incident with Darth Bandon killing two troopers and a droid for no apparent reason. Even if you join the Sith for selfish motives, I would think at that point many officers on deck would be wondering if maybe they chose the wrong side.
  9. Now, we all know the viewpoint of the Force-using Sith from Korriban (even if overdone)....but what do you think the average cannon fodder can't-hit--the-broad-side-of-a-barn-with-a-tactical-nuclear-missile Sith Trooper and Sith Pilot is in it for? Do your best to argue why someone would want to join the Dark Side....without the Force being involved.
  10. Really, this thread is already so hopelessly off-track that it doesn't matter much.
  11. OoooOOOhhh. Is someone organizing a game online? I'll join, if there's any room.
  12. What about Zaalbar and T3-M4?
  13. The REAL problem was that the mini-games were too tough for those not used to twitch games and WAAAYYYY too easy for those who have played twitch games their whole lives (such as yours truly.) I've never, not once, lost one of those space shoot-outs. Not even the first time I played when it caught me off-guard. I don't say this as bragging, as I think I'm the rule rather than the exception for anyone who has ever played a first person shooter. It was so laughably easy that I didn't look forward to it. As such, I'm happy to hear their solution; you don't have to play the mini-games, but they're there if you want to play them. And hopefully now that everyone who plays them is someone who wants to play them, they can make things a bit more interesting by increasing the difficulty.
  14. Don't be sorry; be proud. Whatever George Lucas touches turns to sh*t nowadays.
  15. I can dig it. Now where are the REAL interesting people, the Designers? Like anyone wants to hear from a Programmer. *snort*
  16. I'd wager heavily it isn't Canderous. He fights with Revan; if Revan was a Light Side Jedi in KOTOR, then why would Canderous fight for the Sith? Now, Canderous as a General/Admiral in the Sith Armada if Revan were Dark Side...THAT I can see.
  17. Haven't Obsidian stated in interviews that their aim is to shift from "thug" to actual darkside acts? If they have, I don't remember it. I hope they have. Taken from the ValhallaGamers.com interview with Feargus Urquhart:
  18. He's a tubesteak connoisseur.
  19. If you can talk her into betraying the Hidden Beks, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to talk her into joining the Sith. Especially since Zaalbar is obviously going to join you.
  20. Haven't Obsidian stated in interviews that their aim is to shift from "thug" to actual darkside acts? If they have, I don't remember it. I hope they have.
  21. Nothing so obscure. I think he's just having fun with the widespread notion that Atton Rand is a girly-man.
  22. Is anyone else sensing a theme in these suggestions? People want a Dark Side game that consists of something a little more intelligent than just being mindlessly malicious to no good purpose. I hope someone out there at Obsidian is taking notes, 'cause this subject has been repeated again and again, and is obviously one of the major flaws of the first game. It's certainly my biggest beef; the game made no sense playing as a 'Sith.'
  23. Male Light Side Jedi Consular going on Jedi Master, one saber, green. If stat points are the same: Bump Wisdom to max, Charisma to 15 or 16, Intelligence to 12, and leave all physical stats undeveloped. Next game: Male Dark Side Guardian going on Sith Marauder, two sabers, one red and one blue. If stat points are the same: Bump all stats to at least 10, physical stats to the 14 range.
  24. Yeah, I know, it was a veiled protest against Lucas changing that. The original had Han Solo shooting first, no question; Lucas added in Greedo shooting first with the special edition, a move for which he was nearly universally lampooned. It was pointless, lame, made Han Solo seem less clever and less of a scoundrel, and made absolutely no sense considering (as noted in this thread) Greedo was at point-blank range.
