  1. I do. The industry dictates whether games like this get made. Reviews influence sales. Kickstarter is a last resort (and leads to irritating tombstones and NPCs) Opinions are opinions, but if I had read this particular review I might not have bought the game. Very much disagree with this. Games media is going the way of the dinosaurs with more and more closing shop or resorting to clickbait due to the pitifully small readership. Smart developers are banking on youtubers for coverage.
  2. Opinions. That said, there's a reason why traditional games media is going down the toilet. Ultimately scores are fairly pointless anyhow.
  3. I'm going to advocate making armor penalties scale depending on constitution for the rest of my life if I have to because it is such a brilliant solution.
  4. Here's hoping that the beautiful soul of this game won't be shattered too much as the franchise goes forward.
  5. I don't know, I've had the most success with druid myself. While spiritshifting needs to be buffed so that it remains viable throughout they have some crazy powerful spells. Wizard on the other hand just seems... bad.
  6. Obsidian delivers their magnum opus and they're stuck dealing with this PR nightmare now. Life truly is unfair. I understand though. For years these vermin have been allowed to poison gaming and none dared to stand up to them. Now comes the counter reaction and it's bloody war with developers caught in the middle. It's ugly but perhaps necessary, yes? One violent reaction to counteract another and hopefully restore balance to the world of video games. One can only hope that things will get better eventually.
  7. I knew it was offensive. It was meant as a joke, you know...an offensive one. What fault is there in expressing myself with something controversial? Knock yourself out, but you better not be whining if someone expresses themselves by calling it out. Calling it out is quite different from attempting to extinguish it. It's fine to disagree with questionable content but to call for it to be cut out... well, that speaks of great immaturity. So you're ok with speech you disagree with so long as it's impotent. Persuasion = censorship. Of course. Of course. I simply think it speaks of a very small and dull mind when one cannot tolerate content which potentially upsets. And dialogue should be had for the sake dialogue. It should not exist only as a hammer to beat down those of opposing views. There was never any room for discourse here. There still isn't which is why I've advocated letting it go.

  9. I think it would be wise to simply drop it at this point. While I do loathe the censorious social justice crowd and their methods this controversy is starting to overshadow what an absolutely amazing game this is and that is simply sad. Go enjoy the game and Firedorn's revised work which in my humble opinion is far more poignant.
  10. Hopefully this will be the last time something like this happens. It's a wonderful game and I'd rather not see real life politics bring it low.
  11. Read the revised text. More people should as it's really a clever bit of work. I'm still not particularly keen on the idea of social pressure of any form resulting in alterations but this might have been the best reply if one had to be given.
  12. I didn't back to see twitter mobs dictate what is acceptable content and what isn't. But ultimately this is Obsidian's choice and they will have to deal with the reputation losses.
  13. Just kill them if they bother you so much. That's what I intend to do on my next playthrough.
  14. I saw someone suggest making constitution reduce the penalties of wearing heavier armors and I'd love to see that implemented. Perception should in my mind at least obviously influence critical hits.
