kinda inspired by @ShadySands, we combined miss vickie's spicy dill chips with tuna salad and it turned out better than anticipated. 'course as one might expect, we made the sandwich more complicated than necessary by using both albacore and skipjack as well as making our own mayo. given the nature o' the chips, we chose to include fresh dill and some fine chopped dill pickle to the salad. we served the sandwich on a crusty baguette along with sliced red onions which we quick pickled in red wine vinegar and for a bit o' green, we added leaves of organic butter lettuce. etc. *eye roll* most o' the aforementioned effort were complete unnecessary. coulda' used wonder bread and a very basic tuna salad-- the sandwich woulda' been only a smidge less tasty, though am admitting the fresh dill and dill pickle were nice additions. regardless, and more immediate relevant, utilizing miss vickie's spicy dill chips in our tuna salad sandwich were a pleasant discovery. aside: it likely goes without saying, but the chips should only be added to the salad and sandwich immediate before planned consumption. HA! Good Fun! ps these are ~20% off at amazon, so we bought one... 'cause.1 point

For me, it's a matter of mental energy and choosing when I want to engage with something. Notifications, updates, ads...but also new videos from people I like, if a webcomic I'm following updates, game launchers/wrappers telling me a friend is playing a game or whatever, et cetera. I generally want as little as possible that's not actually important imposing itself on me, and stuff that is always online has a way of doing just that...constantly, every day, and while some people are fine with that, maybe even thrive on being constantly connected to everything, I find too much stimuli or too much asking something from me to be an unnecessary drain of my energy. My Windows 10 format is "disconnected": all the built-in ads are disabled, Windows does not push any notifications to me, it does not even automatically update, nothing about it ever changes unless I personally effect that change. I can to tell it to update, which I do every once in a while...and that's the key thing: when I tell it to. I'm prepared for it when I decide to do that and I want pretty much everything else to be the same: if I choose to open up YouTube, I do so with the knowledge (perhaps even desire!) that there might be new videos from the people I'm subscribed to...the same for checking my email, the same for how I pretty much always have my phone set on silence except for a very few people, the same for when I choose to visit the Obsidian forums. I have a need for controlling when I choose to engage with stuff, and I utterly loathe it when that control is taken away from me. I accept not having that control when it comes to family, pets, and some close friends, but not a lot else...certainly not my operating system or any of my devices: thus, I want most everything to be disconnected and manual activation only, and the whole always online paradigm and everything wanting to be connected to you and have all these different avenues of annoying you in some way is really anathema to that.1 point

Depends on game mode and/or custom settings. One of those games where there's the default pre-set modes, but there's like 3 screens of difficulty game settings and you can mix/match as you wish It's a giant sandbox - once you figure out what you like, you can do it almost exclusively if you wish. There are predator type fauna that will attack - but not all fauna will. Or you can set them to be defensive only so they only attack if you attack/hit them first. Or never at all. You can turn on-foot and ship combat off/minimal/standard/hostile, which has affects on planet/space sentinel hostility conditions and certain system warp random encounter stuff. That said, outside of very early game, most of isn't really much threat. As to base building - if you don't want to ever build a base, you don't really have to, outside of any quest, or a weather/temperature shelter. Some ppl go super all out on bases ofc. It can be fun but is has no purpose (don't need to defend etc). Most of the time I just build 1-2 prefab room shelters with a few crafting/storage tools in them and that's about it. You could also disable the ability to alter difficulty settings entirely (can't change on the fly). Very wide, not very deep.1 point

There is a story, and it does lead to some conflict with these robot things. But it is mostly exploring and resource management.1 point

Seems the most exciting prospect of this game coming out are all the inevitable exposé pieces that finally reveal just what the hell happened with this game's development.1 point

I like games with newspapers. Though I believe they could have done it a bit better. Cute little detail Crafting The Pulp Fiction moment When the quest giver tells you to find out yourself how to do the quest.1 point

Saw this in game: which of course made me think of this (yeah, still miss old YouTube) and then it was stuck in my head again*: *the original actual double-rainbow guy's video is still up, although he died in 2020 at age 57.1 point

As SC Stormspeaker chanter, Tekehu have acces to The Ranga (Avenging Storm), and with some equipments he become the most eloquent chanter. 🗲 Tekehu 🗲 Stats of Tekehu : 12-10-14-10-17-15 The equipment needed : Acina's Tricorn (+5acc with ranged attack, work for most of the spells including AS) Footprint's of Ahu Taka (+2dex, +10% healing done) Ring of the Marksman (+4acc to corrupted Beauty) Kuaru's Price (+1per & +1int) Firethrower's Gloves (+2dex ) The Giftbearer's Cloth (especially with an imported Sasha's sabre to get 2 Sabres) Torc of the Falcon's Eyes (+2per) Least Unstable Coil Blightheart Sasha's Singing Scimitar (Encore & Shocking Prelude(universal lash) ) & The Weyc's Wand Sasha's Singing Scimitar (imported, Refreshing Finale) Robes of the Weyc * In first time, killing an enemy with Blightheart trigger Corrupted Beauty in AoE around Tekehu, that can be prolonged, and because it is not restricted to combat that can be cheesed with Strand of Favor to a permanent effect. Once Corrupted Beauty is active, empowering The Ranga with the second weapon set cause to Tekehu to have, when there is at less 1 enemy at melee range (Corrupted Beauty is 1.8m radius), every 3s: The Ranga in AoE (corrupted Beauty), then : Brilliant for allies in AoE (Robe of the Weyc) Current recovery skipped (The Weyc's Wand) Refreshed +3PL (The Weyc's Wand) New Chant (Robe of the Weyc) +7 phrases (Encore) +14% action speed bonus and universal shock lash (applied to the ranga) (shocking prelude) tier- 3 inspiration(s) refreshed (depending of how many enemy are at range), then : AoE interrupt (corrupted Beauty & the Ranga, Chants, when crit) and Tekehu Stats are now : 17-15-24-18-23-20 , with +5acc (tricorn) and +4acc (3PL and brilliant) for most of spells and +9acc for Corrupted Beauty. With Each kill Fed His Fury (+5 to Might, resolve and constitution, stack with the Lesat Unstable Coil inspirations) the stats are : 22-20-24-18-23-25. That mean every 3s, Tekehu can cast His Heart Did Fill for long fight, or everything else (including The Ranga when his duration is almost over, and the spell is still Empowered). Once per combat, switching to the third set (Sasha's Scimitar with Refreshing Finale) for a Corrupted Beauty pulse allow to use Tekehu as Lord of the Storm in any fight. * Boras as Watcher Pet help a lot (+5acc with spells for party). Immunities provided by Captain's Banquet prevent interrupt and the loosing of PL, ect. Ocean's Song at Tikawara transform The Ranga into Interrupting Attack (at less on graze). The potion of Spacial Alacrity work, like Alcina's Tricorn, for most of spells and compensate Dex and Per. Of course the Weyc's items and the Least unstable Coil are great with a lot of characters (SC Druid or SC Priest on the top of the list for me) but to get 7phrases per 3s for a chanter is really strong.1 point
