  1. Houston got ravaged by a storm and my parents electricity went out, so I've spent the last 24 hours scrambling to set them up somewhere with electricity to run my dad's oxygen concentrators. So far everything has settled, but I'm damn tired.

  3. Watched some homeless guy challenge a building to fight. The building won. This city has a certain charm, I have to say.

  4. Yeah, it's bizarre that quantity itself is measured as a positive without any analysis of what that quantity is. If a 100+ hour game feels like a chore half the time then I'd think the length would be a negative. The character sheets are basic, but I think that what makes a game isn't necessarily how complex the mechanics are but what it does with them. There's more than a few encounters in BG3 that make very good uses of the game mechanics to make you play tactically in a way the Owlfinder games just don't....and that's without factoring in how BG3 is 3-dimensional with the ability to fly or jump or push enemies off cliffs that add an absolute ton of options to gameplay. While Owlfinder certainly has more individual combat options than BG3, BG3 still feels like there are more useful options to take than in Owlfinder.

  6. Only few idiots have always sparked the hate. I am half Hungarian as well with very Hungarian surname, and I live in the area, where there is a lot of hate against immigrants (which are actually almost non-existent here ) And IIRC last time, I have experienced the hate against my “bloodline” was maybe 30-35 years ago. Currently the mostly visible hate against diverse people here, is hate against gypsies and gays. On the other hand, lesbians are the most sought for term at various channels which offer “documentary” entertainment

  7. I have it on my EA account (I bought a number of games when it was still "Origin"). But despite three attempts, I never made it out of what I think of as the introduction area, before losing interest

  8. I'm sure Xi would love to "bleed the west dry" of hardware, ordnance and ammunition to enable a grab for Taiwan unopposed by outside forces (I don't think Taiwan will just roll over on their back though). But I can see a strategic incentive in it for China to support the Russian "special military operation" *) efforts in the west. *) This is how it's being sold in Chinese state media too

  9. I completed EOB2 after about 35 hours I didnt think it was as good as EOB1 for 2 main reasons and these are also my main criticisms First and main issue is you have an incredibly bad design where you cant complete the game if you dont find a specific item and you not able to go back to find the item because a particular door is closed. For example on Silver Tower level 3 you need to find the Crystal Hammer for access to the Azure Tower level but I didnt even know I had to find the Crystal Hammer and I got to the end of the Silver Tower, defeated the beholders and then got teleported back to Temple but I couldn't go back to Silver Tower L3 because the door on L2 is now closed. I then had to use ASE ( built-in automap) teleport function to get through the Crystal Door but the Steam version of ASE doesn't include ASE teleport so I had to download and configure the normal ASE But you shouldnt have to use a " cheat " just because you missed out on 1 item, any game should allow you to go back and find that item at the very least EOB1 wasnt like that, it allowed to you travel back and retrace your steps and I didnt have to " cheat" once to complete the game But I did enjoy EOB2, I liked several of the dungeon designs and puzzles like the Medusa Maze and the final battle with Dran was fun....I literally used save scumming and spent the entire battle moving from square to square to avoid his spells and then his dragon form fire breath. It was hard but he died at the end EOB2 gets a 58/100 on the globally followed " BruceVC game rate system " Its a fun game but very difficult and sometimes unfairly difficult. I cant imagine anyone completing this game without consulting game guides and getting tips but I suppose its possible I am now playing EOB3, I might as well complete the series. Its okay so far, nothing to write home about

  10. Which is rather unfortunate, as: RPG Codex Interview: Eric Fenstermaker on Pillars of Eternity :: rpg codex > doesn't scale to your level Almost every C/RPG outside of BG3 is on a budget in some way or another. And with RPGs in general, I feel its the worst: Also due to historical reasons, a game said to be on the shorter side risks being flagged as "sales candidate" immediately. A game shorter than ~20 hours is a complete no-go for most, no matter the quality. Whereas supposedly epics are being applauded for offering "value for money". As if being able to spend days of your life on a game was inherently value itself -- even classic 16bit JRPGs were notorious for stretching their playing time with random encounters (right up to the Final Fantasys). Gotta love the Codex review of WOTR, btw. The reviewer acknowledges all of that filler. Actually, it argues the game even doubles down on it compared to Kingmaker. But rather than burning the devs at least some for it, the review ends on this note regardless: "Hey, this game has a lot of filler routinely wasting your time. But still, if ya like that kind of thing..." The original Fallout would have a real hard time were it to release nowadays. For ALL the wrong reasons.
