  2. I hadn't even noticed the influx of guests - my bookmark (or my general "click first" after login) is the Community section, not Home, so I don't often see the stats line of users-online. Too much traffic can definitely be a bugbear for various reasons. I'm still getting the slow page loading response just to say, both page loading and when trying to login/logout. Sometimes it's not too long a wait, sometimes it's quite long (as Bart. mentioned).
  3. Today
  4. Hi and welcome! My strong opinion is that Monk is the best pick here. It's a fantastic (single) class both in PoE as well as in Deadfire. My favorite Monk build in both games is the ranged Monk. With PoE it's with the Long Pain as main weapon (very strong) and in Deadfire it's with dual mortars (Serafen's blunderbusses) and the Long Pain. But the Monk class is very versatile and fun with a lot of build approaches imo. The Druid is very nice with Spiritshift in PoE (brutal scaling of the base damage of the Spiritshift weapons for example), but as single class in Deadfire he's way better as a pure caster than with Spiritshift. Multiclassing makes Spiritshift a lot more fun. Priest is stronger in PoE than in Deadfire, it's still good though, also when staying with a single class . It's just not that exciting to me as the main character. Wizard and Druid have more entertaining high level spells (Power Level 8 and 9) imo. Tl;dr: Monk!
  5. Was up late for other reasons, so when time came, went to buy Manor Lords (on Steam, for the moment): --- "Too many people want to buy this game, so you can't right now, try again later." --- "But not too many times in a row or you'll hit our attempts limit and be frozen out for a while." I guess millions of wishlisters is too much for Steam's purchase software. Bought it, it started fine, spent 15 minutes with settings and such (will be doing EZ no-combat mode while learning town mechanics, then try normal mode). Game loaded me into a spot with baskets of bread, 1 ox, and some peasants. Looks nice. But I save and exit. Sadly too tired from staying up all night to test-play within "2 hr time limit" window. Later. But I did make an angry squirrel, purple-white coat of arms to match my purple dress/white hat wearing, grumpy old fart female avatar. Color/mood matching is important after all.
  6. apparently Xsolla has to refund now, because BSG broke ToS with that release. people have been asking for refunds for ages, and now they just might get what they wanted
  7. I'm going to be that grounded player, so try to bear with me lol. So I know that it was stated with one of Obsidians latest videos that this was groundeds final update. Maybe I'm trying to be too hopeful with this, but is there any slight bit of hope that we may get just a little more content? I've always been hoping to see the lizard thrown back in since there has been some cut content added back into grounded. Don't get me wrong I love grounded as it is, but id really love to see just a little but more thrown in. Having the lizard added in, being able to access the shed, or even some more insects to fight. I understand I'm probably grasping at straws here, but does anyone think we may get lucky with one more content update? I love grounded and I've been coming back to it ever since it's initial release. I've actually managed to get my wife to play it as well, and shes enjoying it just as much as i am. I know every studio has to move on, but id love to get that shed open or have the lizard added lol! Any feedback or info would be greatly appreciated and thanks for reading my rant! I hope everyone is having a great time in the backyard!
  8. that time never existed people write snarky report and story about protester are paid to be there doesn't understand what they are doing and silly to even try to protest anything century ago
  9. https://www.pcgamer.com/games/fps/escape-from-tarkov-players-rage-as-developers-lock-co-op-pve-behind-a-new-dollar250-edition-despite-promising-access-to-all-subsequent-dlcs-in-its-old-dollar150-edition/ Clever play on what DLC is, heh.
  10. How do you know this is representative of the people protesting, exactly? In things that actually matter, the IDF going to invade Rafah soon ? Feel sorry for all the civilians Hamas will kill after weaponizing the IDF
  11. Hi there! Longtime lurker here finally engaging with all you lovely people. I'm coming back to pillars after a while and am trying to choose what to play. I generally have a huge problem constantly restarting to try different builds, and then reading everything about them and then starting something new. It's annoying. So after much consideration I've narrowed down what I want to play to monk, priest or druid. This is for the first and second game. I will probably be using community patch and the balance polishing mod btw. I've beaten the first on hard and played through much of it on potd. I haven't played the second game as much but plan to go through it (after the first) on potd as well. But I just can't decide on a class to take all the way through both (for roleplaying reasons). Like I mentioned I settled on priest, druid, or monk. I know these are all good and strong classes in both games and I enjoy vancian casters as well as the monk's wounds system. I think I'd like to stay single class since... well I just like it more conceptually I guess? I don't know. Does anyone have any strong opinions on what's most fun or engaging for both games, but mostly the second? I think I'd go with priest of berath so I could mix damage and support if I went priest but I'm open to other options. Druid I'm less sure... Fury for blasting? Ancients for dots and summons and heals? The flexibility sounds nice maybe? Monk seems fun too but again I'm caught between mortar monk and forbidden fist tank monk. Serious decision paralysis. So ya, I'd love and appreciate if anyone could weigh in with what they think to help me decide.
  12. @Constentin Lévine as I promised, here is the proof: As you see "Spellbane" interrupted me during SoT cast No doubt you were right but I like to show the fact, I think you'd like it too Thanks again!
  13. DEX has linear returns, not diminishing. Even when recovery is zero the returns from DEX are linear. But it is debatable if the small changes in animation speed (counted in absolute frames) is worth the hassle to stack DEX into the sky while other attributes suffer. Remember Rakhan Field only applies to FoD. It is actually a copy of the original FoD attack that has an additional corrosive lash. Most abilities and their upgrades are hard-coded copies with adjustments. Upgrades or talents for abilities usually do no "latch" onto basic abilities or so. Instead when you pick an upgrade/talent the basic ability is removed and the new, improved ability is added to your character. An exception is Scion of Flame - that does work with FoD and also Sacred Immolation. Spirit of Decay also works with the corrosive lash of Remember Rakhan Field. What they do is to improve the lash by 20% (so 25% becomes 30%, 50% becomes 60% and so on). For a Bleak Walker I guess two Bittercut sabres (cloned with the Helwax Mold) could be the best FoD option. The sabre itself does corrode damage and profits from Spirit of Decay, the lash on the weapon (fire or corrode) profits from Scion of Flame or Spirit of Decay, the FoD lashes profit from Scion of Flame and Remember Rakhan Field profits from Spirit of Decay. It's a nice weapon anyway (bc. sabre with dual damage).
  14. Thank you @thelee, as usual your explanation is very satisfying. Yes, also in my screenshot base damage would be from 41 and my roll was 40.8! Hope there will be a future patch for this, but maybe it was already addressed in an available mod Have a good day and thanks again!
  15. That's interesting, but like i said i tried a Darcozzi run before so i'm going Bleak Walker specifically to try something completely different (roleplaying wise). Does Remember Rakhan Field work with Sacred Immolation? Because i think getting a damage boost on grazes and hits should somewhat compensate for a few less crits.
  16. Saving the game in any way will only give an error and not Save the game. I've had a lot of these Save Errors throughout the entire playthrough as well just not as severe. I just got to NG+4 and have 109 Days if that helps. Hoping for this issue to be addressed as I can no longer progress.
  17. It's always like that, Liberating Exhortation can be used on self, the rest exhortation cannot be casted on self.
  18. There are two major ending branches, with different sub-endings for each. The first branch I got was the one you mentioned (where you attend Hugo's birthday party - this is the 'normal' one), but there's a second branch that veers wildly off into a different direction that reveals a lot more about the Sintra family (you must discover where the ritual dagger, the Athame, is hiding and take it before the birthday party happens). I feel this is intended to be the true ending, though interpretation may vary depending on exactly what you value (also, I think it probably works better if you've already played the first ending, as I feel it builds off of what you learn in the first ending branch). Yep, I've also played both of those. Though very different, DDLC is a pretty cute/horrific game and one of like...maybe four visual novels I've ever played all the way through, and The Count of Lucanor I quite liked as well though it didn't quite match the highs of Yuppie Psycho. Thanks for the other mentions. Yeah, finding quality games that really hit the mark can be difficult...there's always stuff where it's similar-ish and kind of alright, but it's usually pretty clear when a game really has its claws in you versus when it doesn't.
  19. Full VO is EXTREMELY expensive. Good voice actors aren't cheap at all and especially RPGs usually have a lot of text that would need to be recorded.
  20. But you dont have to hate something or someone to satire it, thats not the right word or its too strong Most satire is about the ostensible absurdity or inconsistency of what people say or do. Its not about hate. But it is about ridiculing or mocking but thats the foundation of most comedy Think of almost every joke you know, they always about some kind of ridiculing? Thats what makes them funny
  21. This has got to be the most honest, cringe and hilarious reason for why many people are protesting at the various US universities. Openly admitting they dont really know what they protesting for around " what the University is doing wrong " I remember a time when people use to protest and express outrage because they believed and understood the cause, it mattered and it was about the principle and belief. Times have REALLY changed
  22. The developers' previous game, The Count Lucanor, is quite similar, though smaller in scope. I would say that Doki Doki Literature Club is close enough to being cute and horror as well, though it is visual novel. I have also played (have not finished) Kraken Academy!!, which was visually similar, but somehow less engaging. There is also Yomawari: Night Alone (have not played the sequel), which is technically both cute and horror, but felt rather shallow and underwhelming. --- Speaking of, the Immortal Cats mod for Fallout 4 (pre-"next gen" update) did not work for me. So, the only mod I am using is Full Dialogue. Got Fallout 4 on GOG shortly before Bethesda messed up the mods yet again (the sale was really convenient) and decided to try the expansions. Died in the first combat encounter at the Far Harbor 4 times so far. --- I think, I have finished Yuppie Psycho once with the best ending, though, I did look up the elevator code at the end.
  23. I'm in a 2 player mp game as a client, when payback occurs and (so far its been ants) the payback creatures come into view, they freeze on my end, make no noise but are still attacking me and the base. I'm attacking invisible silent bugs. The only way I know I'm even hitting one is the hp bar pops up.
  24. Darcozzi Paladin's Liberating Exhortation grants +10 accuracy if you take Inspiring Liberation, and it stacks with itself. So you can cast them on yourself twice at the begining of combat to get +20 ACC for around 40 seconds. Which is great boost to FoD(more crit) and Sacred Immolation. An optimized build focusing on SI would be Darcozzi Paladin, max MIGHT/PER/INT, double cast Liberating Exhortation on self then activate SI, you will have very powerful SI that crit's a lot. Combine it with feats like Beast Hunter, and etc that grant bonus damage, The Merciless Hand that grants +crit damage and its way better than paladin focus on auto attacks.
