The TV and Streaming Thread: That's Entertainment!
rjshae replied to LadyCrimson's topic in Way Off-Topic
I watched Vinland Saga on Hulu; it wasn't bad for a semi-historical drama (and it lacked anything resembling anime goofiness). Unfortunately, the second season isn't available yet. -

Diabolical Drones of Doom
cabe0301 replied to cabe0301's topic in The Outer Worlds 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I reloaded back to the end of the intro and rushed to this bounty to see if I could get it to complete. I was able to finish it this time and I did notice a difference. When I was trying to get it to complete before, there was always just one drone in the fenced area before the waves triggered. This time there were two. I don't know if the waves are triggered off of total kills or something, but I did find that interesting. -
I've found a bug where entire area of Undisputed Claim turned hostile (faction didnt turn hostile as ACs in Eden are neutral) after I stealth killed no-name NPC, with neither witness nor bounty. You can find such NPC within the same area as Willard Konnen. There was no important npc warning unlike if you kill Kaur or other that causes instant faction hostility.

32 GB RAM / 5800X3D / RX 9070XT / Win 11 Pro Gamepass standard edition. Crashes on various settings, resolutions, RT ON. Reset my shader caches. Verified files integrity. Tried all parking, and game ran for a while and hitching seemed to be less prevalent. After about 30 min I got a Freeze/Crash which coincided with the game autosaving. Generic "Fatal Error" with no info popup message. Event view attached.

Aza Recruitment Bugged.
D3rpamus replied to misterwolf's topic in The Outer Worlds 2: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Ran into the same issue today. Cleared the area, then spoke with Aza. Through the dialoge I told her to go back to the ship, as I wanted to do some other quests first. I got the "I will wait for you here" and then she disappeard and didn't come back. I wandered around and couldn't find here anywhere in the area. Fast travelled to the ship, not there, then fast travelled back, and she still wasn't there. Closed the game, re-loaded, and no Aza. Help? -

Can’t Equip Weapons
SorrowLirium replied to ballancejeremiah's topic in The Outer Worlds 2 General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
There's no fix to this. The only option is starting a new save, it's an engine issue with no fix that can happen randomly to any save. -

There's some setting that fudges the dice and is intended to help avoid chains of bad rolls, in practice it seems to make rolls worse (or at least more "average"), turning it off seemed to at least improve things for me. May be in my head, may not be, there's been evidence collected to indicate the former, but since Larian doesn't disclose how the setting atually works and kept updating it there's no telling how accurate that evidence still is. Anyway, may want to try turning it off (it's on by default) and see if that improves things for you, it did for me.

I'm doing Tristan's companion quest, Casting Off the Veil, and I've hit a roadblock. I've reached the part in the quest where I'm supposed to "Wait to Hear from Virgil" and Tristan has completely disappeared from the Incognito ship. He's nowhere to be found and I'm unable to progress the quest. At first I thought the issue might resolve itself or that perhaps I just needed to complete some other quests first. But now I'm literally at the last mission in the main story and I've completed all others side content as well. Anyone else have this issue or have a way to resolve it?

Omg thank you! You summed up my main problem perfectly! The only way it justifies no longer doing damage with your weapon is if you can then do massive damage with a spell, which you can’t when the cipher takes a while to cast it (opportunity cost, not doing anything = 0 dps and also tanks burst damage, until he finally casts) , or doing amazing CC, which you need to do RIGHT NOW usually, not in 10 seconds when I gathered enough focus and finish smelling the roses for the spell to finally cast. passive retaliation focus would have solved this amazingly well. Pity. as always, thanks for the insight. Also, I guess no ciphers in my future lol, I’ll learn to live with my disappointment by having a Druid murder everything with storms

32GB RAM / I7 14700KG / RTX 4070 SUPER / Win 11 Pro Highest visual settings, RT ON, DLSS Quality, 1080, latest Outer Words 2 patch as for Nov 2. If I set my CPU cores (28) to run always unparked, and using Performant processors for short and long threads, the game crashes always while loading shaders (it doesn't happen with any other game). If I allow core parking while loading shaders and a savegame, and then I set all my cores to run unparked, then the game runs perfectly until something new is loaded, then crashes again. If I allow parked cores all the time then the game runs without any crash. There could be a problem with thread management while loading data.
