There is one coming up, and if they want to keep their word with saying they'd give it to us this fall, there kind of is a need to rush -
I concur. On the "story," point, yes initially I wrote it as "story" and then changed it to "storytelling." I should've left it the way I originally had my post. On the companions' stories in 1, I loved that for several of them their stories had hooks in the main story and so choices in one affected outcomes (ending slides) in the other. And I cared about the companions' stories and their outcomes. Even Durance, who I recall utterly disliking the first time I played the game way back when, I ended up liking and feeling sympathy for him this time around due to differences in how I roleplayed things. The one negative in PoE1 for me was that I felt there were way too many consumables (and crafting materials). By this I mean way too many different TYPES of consumables, whereby it became too overwhelming for me to try and keep track of what things did what for me. So I hardly ever used any of my consumables, even including scrolls, and never bothered with crafting anything. A lot of game development resources couldv'e been saved going with fewer different types of scrolls/spells, potions, foods, etc.

I mostly agree, with coveats. I don’t think PoE story is “better told”. Too much of it is uninteractive, too much of it is told through NPCs talking at you and books abd too little through quests. But I do think it is a better story. What PoE2 lacks to me is personal hook for our protagonist. I never found Eothas destroying Caed Nua compelling as without experiencing this event in the sequel we get a “cutscene” and it is just not enough to care. It’s as if Mass Effect destroyed Normandy in a hand drawn cutscene rather than open with it. Similarly, reuniting our soul and confronting Eothas - it’s all confusing and impersonal and unrelatable. In PoE1 we experience consequences of the awakening and as we progressed we better realised what it could mean for us. In PoE1 it’s just “oh yeah part of your soul in in Eothas so keep close”. PoE1 had more relatable stories and dilemmas of companions which I think helped ground the god thread and give it resonance. Without it it’s tricky to care about bickerings of fictional gods.

I would love to say, I loved what was going on when you were doing your first Kickstarter. Sure there was some disagreements, but I believe the general chemistry was the same. I especially liked it when you dropped your workload and went to Dave and Buster's. It said a lot about the friendly vibe. But it also said something about your wisdom the harsh years educated you with. You knew what only hard working people who went far could tell: sometimes, a problem is so difficult it's wiser to rest away from it. You realized it was difficult to make something happen beside wait for kickstart to show result, and you didn't waste time resting away. You chose Dave and Buster's, I say a perfect place to chill, eat, and wait for the numbers to increase in kickstarter. Some, and even some among you might say it was an impulsive move. But I believe it's more than an idea created from a void at that moment. Anyways, ending note. I hope your passion for this company and mates last. I know holding up against corporate interest is difficult. I bet you had easier time pitching after the 'kickstarter incident'. But growing to a big company always had its problems, and I can write an essay about it. But I would like to see the positive vibe going, the vibe that you had from the beginning. Best regards From a fan.

I finally finished my playthrough of PoE1 including both DLCs. It was a very fun experience. Because I had not replayed the game in a very long time, I had forgotten much of the story and the lore, and so it was like playing the game for the first time. It was clear to me that although PoE2 is mechanically the better of the two, PoE1 is better by a wide margin than 2 in storytelling, character development (especially the companions), world-building, and side quests. This is surprising and puzzling to me because PoE2 is the sequel, and had a bigger budget. But it comes across to me as if the game development team, including JES, didn't have their hearts in PoE2 as much as they did in PoE1. Just my take.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28013708/ I watched the first episode of a new HBO series called Task and I can already tell its going to be epic Its a crime drama about a FBI Task Team hunting down a criminal gang but it has this incredible complexity and nuance with all the characters and the broader narrative I cannot recommend enough how excellent this series is and its definitely an immediate " BruceVC must watch series " -

LULZ @ Gearbox and them trying to tell ppl how to optimize their settings for their game. --5070ti@ 1440 = dlss-balanced, 4x frame gen, veryhigh/high/some medium, for "60+fps." Note, that 60+ fps is with FRAME GEN on. Welcome to your $800 720p gpu (or whatever) --I'm becoming super curious re: my rig, just like I was with Indy. I think I could get to the main map in under 75 mins (30+ min for settings/shaders). I bet DLSS performance (no frame gen), mostly Low for stuttery 45fps. --Watching Cohh play the game, they've gone more fast-combat paced (like BL3 on speed). Not saying that's bad, I'm sure some may love any/most gameplay changes these days, but for some of us old-timers, it's that it becomes less like original BL feels each new game. Hubby watched some bits and is only 1/3 interested now - and he's the mega-BL person (he still replays BL1/BL2 once a year). -

I wouldnt put much relevance into words inscribed into his bullets as an ideological motive for why he killed Kirk, he also had anti-fascist and Internet memes on his bullets. It has just created even more misinformation and people making assumptions on SM around his reasons But we have much more information now but nothing 100% confirmed CNN and other media houses have a good summary of who he was and what is political views were and how they changed before the shooting https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp8wl2y66p9o His family are GOP\Conservatives and he use to be but he clearly changed over the last few years. Everyone who knew him was and is very surprised he killed Kirk and there is no evidence he was linked in anyway to any white supremacist group He seemed to have specific issues with Kirk and he thought he peddled " hate " speech and he decided to act on that I will stick to my original prediction around his motives, a mentally unstable person who was influenced by radical left ideology\left-wing extremism and decided to kill Kirk because of what he use to debate and how he encouraged debate on certain topics Its very common and normalized to refer to left or right wing extremism\ideology as a reason for any mass shooting I doubt that is going to make any difference to the current views and anxiety in the US at the moment around Kirks death But many people do want to why someone did what they did and you often find extremist ideology as a reason -

Interesting. I own it on Steam and it is still on sale here in UK. From what I can find the game was/is banned in Germany? Would buying the game from third party sites not work? https://isthereanydeal.com/game/max-payne/info/ Edit. Apparently not. GMG regions for Max Payne don't include Germany. So weird. Seems like early 2000 violent video game panic ban, than never got reversed. Rockstar should do something about it. - Yesterday

Good evening! I have started a new playthrough of the game on medium difficulty and I am definitely more satisfied by the insect combat difficulty. The game has provided a kind challenge so I can imagine Whoa! Difficulty is perfect for those looking for a really tough challenge. I have things to update and some new issues I've found since playing this new version: Clay Mining Mining clay has proven to be especially challenging compared to Grounded, because there is a 50/50 chance that either the clay will splay out in front of you like it has in Grounded, or it'll get caught on your shovel and will get launched behind you. The latter chance makes it difficult to track the clay down again. Seeing how resources tend to be more scattered compared to Grounded, this makes clay collection far more tedious than it should be in my opinion, especially early in the game before getting the resource tracker. I would love to see that fixed. Blueberries (Update) I stand by what I said before with blueberries; however I forgot about the resource finder. That technology definitely helps to find the blueberry patch in the game, where basically all blueberries can be found; however, it is still incredibly difficult to track down blueberry chunks without knowing the patch's location. Without analyzing these chunks, you can't use the resource finder to track down the rest. Basically, this means unless you happen to stumble upon the patch or either ranger station where there's a couple lying around, you're stranded from any of the tier 2 equipment and tools. Blueberry-Story Connection Idea Additionally, the game has it setup so that the stranger knows when you enter the patch and tries to threaten you from taking them. This isn't the only time this happens either. It would be awesome to see the developers add in a side quest to steal the stranger's main resource hubs to weaken her. This would include other resource hubs as well and would function as a king of the hill-type challenge consisting of claiming the area ( defeating her guards there), and defending the area ( a series of base defense or mixr events to set up permanent orc disruptors within these areas). This would allow beginning players to find isolated resources like blueberries without going on a wild goose chase, and make the game's map feel more connected. Biomes Something I loved about Grounded was having different biomes and environments. It really made it feel like an entire world. Now I know Grounded 2 has biomes too, but there's a difference: Grounded 2's map has expanded, but so have they're biomes. They're so big that each one takes up a large chunk of the map and can take entire in-game days to traverse, even on buggy. Comparing to Grounded, you could sprint through numerous different biomes with relative ease ex. Hedge-flowerbeds-pond-oak tree base-lower lawn-haze/dead lawn. My suggestion is to include more mini biomes within these massive ones. Perfect examples are the blueberry patch, mushroom grotto, and oak tree base in Grounded 2. It gets boring traveling through rolling hills of grass or a sea of broken bricks without seeing a change in the environment. This is separate from adding points of interest like pop cap gun etc. Points of Interest Similarly, there aren't enough points of interest in the parts of the game we currently have. It's always fun to explore unique items in the park. These don't all have to be man-made either. Just look at the four leaf clover from Grounded. Buggy Issues I know everyone's been talking about this, but the more people mention it, the faster it'll get fixed. Buggies act like pets did in Grounded. They are coded to have random movements that make them feel more lively while you're staying at one location for awhile. I think it's a great idea, but there's a flaw. The buggies, like the pets were, are coded to stay near you as well. This leads to buggies constantly getting in the way while you're trying to build, collect resources, or use your omni tool. It gets incredibly frustrating. I understand you can simply tell the buggy to stay put, but sometimes you're getting off quickly to grab something before leaving again, and your buggy just makes it a hassle. Buggy issues continue with becoming aggro. Multiple times the buggy remains aggro after a battle and attacks the next closest thing. This has led to multiple combat instances I have not wanted, and some that have caused the death of my buggy and/or myself. Again, I'm still playing and I love the game so far. I think the devs are incredible and all I want is to help them spot issues they might not know about. I'll return soon with more notes!

I have no idea who BamBam or TIMETHAI are, but this popped up in my random feed and all morning I've been listening to it while doing my daily exercise bits (hubby's probably annoyed by now, ha). Just a nice mellow dance song that works well for "busy" arm flailing walking. Good thing I do it in the backyard. Edit: also, none of my SO/s dates liked to dance, so I definitely danced by myself. Also, more Stray Kids. After 1st hearing their Victory song 5-6 years ago or something, occasionally liked their big singles etc. I have now bought all those older singles as MP3's and bought the Karma "mp3 album" off Amazon. YouTube on repeat isn't good enough anymore. I .... may have finally become a "Stay." But I am NOT going to buy plushies/pens/headwear, or cardboard stand cutouts or an ebay auction of a sweat-stained bandana. Just saying. But I guess I'm fully on the "I like all their music and will pay for it" bandwagon, now. -

Trump team disbands controversial US climate panel Okay, I don't get this one. He hand picks a panel of people who hold non-mainstream beliefs unsupported by facts and data. They produce a report with non-mainstream beliefs unsupported by facts and data. They he fires them over a lawsuit? I guess their task is finished, so off with their heads.
