The All Things Political Topic - What's Going On...?

Canned tuna isn't so bad as ironically the cheaper tuna variants used for canning are less contaminated - probably should not stuff your face with thuna sashimi every day though. Don't see anyone making a case for tuna being a superfood (if anything influences would probably try to pawn you some omega 3 supplements). If you don't know, matcha is made by grinding tencha leaves that you're then consuming along with the tea. Now, as long as you buy high quality matcha tea and keep your consumption below three grams per day that should not be an issue. Cheap Chiniese knockoffs might even contain some fun pesticides as a bonus though. Spooning it into your breakfast bowl because some influencer told you it cures every disease on the planet? Yeah, probably not that bright of an idea. Not to mention expensive. To reiterate my main point, this is a case of cultural apporpriation that actually causes detrimental effects, with Japanese people complaining that Americans and Europeans buy up their matcha, leaving them with not enough for their ceremonies where making matcha is well beyond consuming the latest silly superfood hype. Unlike wearing dreads or wearing traditional Chinese garb as an American, where no one but the Twatteria cared. Well, and Fridays for Future, a youth protest movement complaining about the hairdo of people. WhenI was young, that used to be the favorite past time of old people. Just found it funny. Where are the sh*tstorms and cancellations? -

First Topper is probably the best from memory. From a Thorne Smith book which is a solid start, and Young, Grant, Constance Bennet and Billie Burke are all solid. Second one has a lot of similar gags but loses Grant. Third is a comedy murder mystery with Joan Blondell as a new ghost pulling Cosmo into adventure (solving her murder) to the annoyance of his wife. -

--Freaky Tales is on HBO/Max and rentable via Prime already. I have it watchlisted. Like with everything I watchlist, I may get around to it "someday." --Casablanca - I tried to watch that once years ago. I was bored, didn't finish. I've seen all the famous clips and quips of course. High Sierra and Treasure of the Sierra Madre was more my speed re: Bogart/time period. I think they were the only two of his films I finished. Most films before mid-late-50's I won't get half way through them, with the cinematic styles of the period and stage like acting/direction just not doing it for me. There are notable exceptions, of course. High Noon, 12 Angry Men, Grapes of Wrath, early Hitch**** films, Singing in the Rain, early sci-fi. etc. But I remember this film I saw on TV once, I loved it back then. Called ... (google fu) ... Topper, 1937 (in b&w, never saw colorized versions, don't want to). Maybe one of 2 or 3 Cary Grant films I've seen in full. It was comedic/funny and Roland Young as the older Topper was great. Now I want to find/see it again. Don't think I saw the sequels. Edit: I probably liked light comedies/musicals of those eras more than other genres. -

Not sure about that. The EU is extremely anal about such things, so I kind of have a hart time imagining that stuff like this would really slip through here like that (someone prove me wrong).

I never actually watched the original Casablanca, but I believe that many years ago I've watched some movie about Hong Kong in WW2(?) which had an oddly similar plot. Can't remember the name. Maybe one day I will finally watch the original Casablanca. -

Tonight they are showing Casablanca. You may of course not have heard of this movie as it is ultra contemporary. It is basically about the current state of the world, talking about resistance against fascism as well as the plight of refugees trying to reach the USA. -
Doesn't most food have lead in it? At the end of the day it's the amount that matters.

Wow, I knew that films take a while to reach overseas cinemas, but half a century? -

What you can make happen relatively easily is that you don't quite outheal the average incoming damage with draining and other "side effect" healing stuff. That requires you to monitor your health closely and get the occasional actively triggered healing burst (to not just die) - but it allows for longer times under 50% health. Against weaker foes it will prevent you from going under 50% though - but that might be the fights wherer you don't need to go there anyway (because easy). I didn't try that a lot with a Streetfighter, but SC Furyshaper (bc. of Blooded and Fighting Spirit, using Blood Ward etc.). A lot of CON helps to manage that a lot. But it will never work smoothly or perfectly well because all fights/enemies are different, rolls are chance-based etc. But on average it allows you to be under 50% health longer which can directly add to your offensive output (even if you have to shift some points from a "good for offense"-attribute like DEX/MIG/PER to one which usually is associated with defense/survival - like CON). What also helps is high AR (ideal if you can activate it at low health, see Reckless Brigandine) and getting grazed a lot when under 50% (swichting to a shield for example). And in addition to that have some damage resistance/reductiuon, too (Death's Maw and something like that. Death's Maw is pretty cool in this case because it only triggers when there's dead bodies around you which isn't at the start of the fight - where you might want to get hit harder until you get damaged too much). I played an Unbroken/Streetfighter main tank with Gladiator Sword + Bronlar's Phalanx - but he woud start the fights dual wielding often (no investment in two handed style) and then switch to the large shield as soon as under 50%. That allowed him to stay under 50% for a long time and made him perform a lot better than trying to keep on with the dual wielding.

Recently noticed that McDonald's is now offering a Matcha Latte. Lately matcha seems to be everywhere, but never in the context it is supposed to be in. Worse, even, it is more or less wasted on (iced) matcha lattes. Infuencers branded it a super food, apparently oblivious to the fact that tea is really good at sucking up aluminum and lead from the ground and consuming a lot of matcha isn't the best idea. Money is being made. A lot of it. Fantastic. People get cancelled for wearing dreads or buying traditional Chinese gowns for proms, but buying the basis of a time-honored Japanese tradition (their tea ceremony) to the point where matcha is getting sparse in Japan is fine. Clearly not cultural appropriation, but appreciation. Yep. Whatever. -

Yeah, I get what you mean — the tone in Hogwarts Legacy can feel a bit all over the place. On one hand it’s all about the magic and wonder of Hogwarts, and on the other you’re mowing down goblins and poachers without much thought. Still, like @BruceVC said, the exploration and atmosphere made it easy for me to just enjoy the game despite those oddities.

Having spent a great many hours playing Grounded, I was ready and playing Grounded 2 the moment it released, and all things considered it's been fun. I have had to start over twice, the first time was only about 15 minutes in, but the second character was around 90%, but experienced the bug with ORC creatures that were killed before the quest to do so, the update simply removed the quests from my list, preventing me from progressing, but it turns out there really isn't any more right now So, after completing all quests, maxing all the Molars, building and upgrading all Weapons & Armor, here are a few Thoughts & Suggestions: Buggies are buggy, things occasionally fall through other things that they shouldn't, game freezes (Very rarely for me), these types of issues don't concern me, it's early access I expected issues, and these type of issues will be fixed sooner than expected. Suggestions; Drop rates for creature Items could use some adjustment, I had to kill 24 snails to get 2 Eyestalks, and the first 3 Wolf spiders I killed didn't drop any fangs. Respawn rates for creatures, I found a spot where 5 scorpions respawn very quickly, also in some areas the Orb Weavers are bad but the spiderlings just never stop coming, Wolf Spiders, 6 total in the park, but only 3 respawn, and they take hours. Buggies should be able to climb some vertical surfaces. I Want a Butterfly or Bee Buggy Thanks for reading, I really love the grounded series, and can't wait for more.

A different way you could prevent cheesing is if during the fight you would need the player to travel across the battlefield to idk, press a button, or pull a lever.
