I've seen some people who love it, and others who hate it. Let's do a little survey....

BTW, by 'busting' I mean driving that Pazaak player until they won't play you for money or cards anymore. I don't think it can be done with Gelrood, but any of the others is fair game. :)

I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you

But I get the feeling that you don't like it

What's with all the screaming?

You like monkeys, you like ponies

Maybe you don't like monsters so much

Maybe I used too many monkeys

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

Pazaak was flawed. If it was played in a casino, it would make sense that one player (the house) always has an inherent advantage over the other player.

But within the setting of the game, pazaak was played as sort of a "pickup" style game where if there is an advantage, it would be determined randomly. (who goes first and last) That wasn't the case.

I'd like the game to be more fairly balanced or atleast have the advantage be more random.

I always liked playing Black Jack. Pazaak is not that different. Besides, its the only mini-game I really like, so I play it a lot :)

Good news; they're fixing that for KOTOR II. The player who goes first is determined randomly.

I like to play Pazaak, but I would infinitely prefer it if it didn't seem so slanted against you. I've seen the computer get three natural 20s in a row; that just ain't right.

Yeah, I heard that too. But wasn't sure if it was 100% confirmed. Now, if they can only fit in sabbacc...

I much prefer poker to blackjack.

I'm sooo glad that pazaak wasn't required to advance the storyline. One thing though, when I beat Kudos ten times, he was supposed to give me a sigil crystal, thing is, I didn't recieve anything!!! Do you know how many times I tried over and over just to win ten times.....

He doesn't give you a crystal; he gives you a vibration cell.

The inventory system is so screwed up that it's rather difficult to tell what he gives you, but according to this guide it's a vibration cell.

The only thing is, I didn't get anything. I even checked the logs.... Also, the guide I read said it was a sigil crystal, but I'll try it again when I get to Tatooine. If it was a crystal or a vibration cell, the game didn't give it to me.

Whatever he gives or doesn't give you, it isn't worth playing a game you don't like until you win ten times in a row, IMHO. Neither a sigil crystal nor a vibration cell is a particularly spectacular reward. :)

Most of the time I avoid Pazaak but once in a Endor Moon I play it but I get my share of Minigames with Swoop racing and sometimes that draws me over to dark side with anger at another Swoop racer.

I play Pazaak from time to time, it's kinda relaxing thing to do while you're on your way the save/crush the republic.

It is if you forgot you'd still get another sigil crystal anyway by the end of the game. :) :D

It was a pretty well designed minigame, cept I hated it cause the NPCs always seem to conveniently have the very cards needed to beat you. And those natural 20s? My butt that's legit.

My biggest problem with Pazaak was that it was obligatory to play it if you wanted better (way better) prices from Suvam. Otherwise, I'd never play the game. It cheats so openly, it's ridiculous. Grrr... Just thinking of it makes my blood boil...

So, no, thanks. I'd prefer some other means of gaining favour with someone. Err, no, not what you just thought. :)

When I'm a bit "bored" with a mission, or don't want to do anything except play black jack...errr pazzaak, I'll just find the guy who gives out the best payoff and play him for a while.

I'll tend to play atleast one game of pazzaak per run through.

Because it cheats openly....so do I. Saving and reloading is an ace in the hole no Pazaak player can match. ;)

I love black jack so I naturally liked Pazaak immediatly. Gambling is always fun and I would play an NPC until he busted or I grew bored of beating him. Although winning credits was fun I hope we will get to play for more than just credits in TSL.

Cheers!

Just give me a REAL Star Wars card game like Sabacc, and let the Pazaak mockery rot ;)

I did play some times though, mainly because I was too bored to perform certain quests and wanted to chill out a bit (but ended being more frustrated due to the opponent getting just the cards he needed every time )

I only played a little first time through but a lot second time through. It's a good idead to thrash the Yavin guy a few times for a whopping discount though.

Everyone knows Science Fiction is really cool. You know what PoE really needs? Spaceships! There isn't any game that wouldn't be improved by a space combat minigame. Adding one to PoE would send sales skyrocketing, and ensure the game was remembered for all time!!!!!
