[German] Translation Problems

 I found many Typos

 

as example some weapons dont have their typ. They have written -1 Intellect instead 1 hand Staff and this on every second Item!  

 

Than the intro has in the second sentence an grammar error. (a word too much)

The german localization is the same mess as it was in PoE 1. Weapons named after attributes +1 and if that is reappearing i guess the whole description is wrong again as well. I do not want to play a game like PoE where there is a ton to read in another language than my own. Please fix this. I'm fine with the wrong grammar and words here and there, but 75% of the weapons having no name at all and just being named for example Might +1 is really bad.

Since PoE1 obsidian was not capable to hear the voice of the german community and relied fully on fan patches.

 

Now they imported all the bugs from PoE1 to PoE2. Sabres are not called Sabres in the Item Description but  for example "Will +2" or "Intelligence +1". The same is true for Handguns and many other Items. So its almost impossible to see if a weapon/armor you just found is usable by your class.

 

This is not a simple grammar mistake. They messed up the sorting in their files and put those things at the wrong position.

 

Anyone working on a fix? Would love to help.

Unplayable is exaggerated but it's embarrasing that there are the same erros the intial version of PoE had.

OMG

 

60 pages of bugfixes in PoE1 and now we have the same trouble again.

Obsidian should hire you, Xaratas and maybe a few others.

optionsmenü -> Spiel: "gib" wurde mit "Führungen" übersetzt. Der Erklärungstext unten ist auch unsinnig. Keine Ahnung wie "gib" ( Gegner platzen wenn sie sterben ) auf deutsch heißt.

Ich warte ein paar Patches bis ich zu spielen anfange, aber die Optionen und Character Erstellung kann ich schon mal anschauen.

Ich glaube es ist einfacher wenn ich die Fehler auf deutsch beschreibe.

 

now in english:

In the options menu, "gib" has been translated with "Führungen" which makes no sense at all.

Dear devs, please implement the improvements done by those users in the following patches.

PoE1 was terrible to play with the original translation and it looks like PoE2 is the same.

Auswahl des Schwieriegkeitsgrades wenn man ein neues Spiel startet:

 

Märchenstunde: Der letzte Satz, das man unbegrenzt Rastvorräte haben kann, mus gelöscht werden. Es gibt keine Rastvorräte mehr in PoE2, man benutzt Essen zum Rasten. Der Satz fehlt korrekterweise auch auf Englisch.

 

Schwer: Die Tatsache, dass "Überleben" in Anführungszeichen steht, ist irritierend.

Tons of errors, most annoying ones were that some weapons are called like stat modifiers, so a "longbow" is called "will+2" or something like this.

Fortuanatly those guys (Aurelio, Xaratas and some others) made a mod to fix them. There are 59 pages of bug reports in PoE1 and it looks like PoE2 is no better.

I report some bugs and I hope they can fix them. Sorry, I have no programming skill myself.

 Hat jemand meinen Namen gerufen? Ich hab gestern schon überlegt ob ich ein neues repository anlege, aber der download ist nicht fertig geworden.

 

Sieht so aus, als hat keiner dem Übersetzungsstudio gesagt, das sie nicht mit der verkorsten altlast von POE1 weitermachenen sollen sondern lieber unseren Stand zur Grundlage. Scheinbar hat auch keiner aus dem Übersetungsstudio das Spiel gespielt und unseren Patch verwendet.

Charaktererstellung, Talentvorschau Barbar:

 

- Barbarischer Schrei: Einmal steht dort es verursacht Erschüttert und einmal steht dort es verursacht verängstigt. Was denn nun?

 

- Raserei Berserker: Erleidet 2 Wund Schaden pro 3 sek, Ich glaube es müsste "reinen" statt "Wund" heißen. So wird "raw" im Schaden Tooltip übersetzt.

Ist auch bei "Panthersprung" so. Wahrscheinlich bei allem "raw damage".

 

- Dickes Fell: " +1 Feinde angegriffen " klingt falsch. Ist +1 engagement gemeint? Keine Ahnung wie das auf deutsch heißt.

 

- Jäger der Wilden: Die Gegnerart sollte "Wilde" und nicht "Wild" heißen. Wild sind Tiere, die man jagt.

 

- Blutdurst: "Selbst pro Kill ( bei Tötung )" klingt doof, ich weis aber nicht wie das besser geht. Es gibt zwei Fähigkeiten die Blutdurst heißen (bloodlust, bloodthirst).

Außer dem steht oben "pro kill" und unten "nachdem er zwei Gegner getötet hat". Das könnte einige Spieler verwirren.

Auch bei Blutwoge steht das so.

 

- Unaufhaltsam: Das ist total verwirrend. Ich glaube es gibt Resistenz gegen mig, dex und con afflictions ( wie auch immer das auf deutsch heißt )

 

- Benommen Tooltip: "Gegner können nicht angegriffen werden" ist falsch. Ich glaube sie können keine Angriffsbindung eingehen. Gleiches Problem bei " Bedrohliche Präsenz".

 

- Rohe Gewalt: Eine Zeile ist auf Englisch geschrieben.

Ah didn't saw this thread when i created my thread with the same "bug". So just for the record / completness:

At first i startet writing down the most anoying text errors i found but ... man ... there are SO MANY of them that i am more writing then playing and thus stopped this cr*p and switched back to english text.

This is really really REALLY a shame because exactly the same errors were present in PoE1, too.

 

No idea how much they had to pay for that external studio but they could simply just set that money on fire instead. Result would have been the same or even better *sigh*.

 

Also sad to hear that the french version seems to be even worse (in the german version most of the text does at least make sense and is mostly understandable...).

Of course the completely wrong items names are the most annoying mistakes, but even the translations that are technically correct often don't make sense. For example in the graphics options the windowed mode is translated with "Mit Fenstern versehen". It's like the translator has never played a computer game and didn't know what windowed means. This example isn't so important, but if something like that happens e.g. in an ability description it can get very confusing and misleading.

Currently my quick fix is to use the german localization for quests, dialogue, character names and locations, while using the english localization for the rest. You can do that by copying the content of the "...\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\exported\localized\en\text\game" folder over to the german folder. Maybe that is an acceptable compromise for some of you too.
