Raithe
Heh, a friend I know is complaining about all the "Trust in Jesus to get through the Day" "Believe in God to carry you forward" messages that are filling up his social media. So he then slapped up : "You can have all the faith you want in spirits and the afterlife, heaven and hell, but when it comes to the world, don't be an idiot, because you can tell me that you put your faith in God to get through the day but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways." 3 "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum." Katphood
That place looks more like a shelter. Tigers and other wild animals are often confiscated from regular people who try to keep them as pets and they can't return to the wild. A shelter at that point is their only option. Agiel
1 Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling
Azdeus
This one is still my favourite Swedemason one; 1 Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. rjshae
I break the glass push the handle and move the tie down. Roll for success. I don't think the cable loop is long enough for that to succeed. It is already close to taunt, so the handle would need to go down to a 90-degree angle from the rest position for the loop to pass the bottom of the handle; possibly more. Gfted1
That's actually a really good fix. I was thinking more along the lines of sliding metal doors that can be triggered to slam closed in cases of a shooter. But a $10 solution comes to the rescue. Amentep
I'm not entirely convinced that solution isn't vulnerable to a breaking the window and using a bolt cutter. Or if you have a lot of ammo, just spraying into the door until you can physically break through it. But most school shooters seem to be opportunistic rather than determined, so it'll probably work 9 times out of 10. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? Hurlshort
We have 2 by 4's in all of the classes with a strap that we attach to the door. Pretty simple, and the 2 by 4 makes a decent weapon if things escalate.
