Deadly_Nightshade Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Jason Kessler got punched in the face, I'm sure that the Alt-Right will equate this with getting hit by a car. There are rumors of another march tonight, police in riot gear are stationed around downtown but do not seem to be actively dispersing the counter-protesters who are out today - although they did escort Kessler away from the scene of his attempted press conference after he was struck. He didn't get a platform to spew his bile though as he was drowned out by chants of 'murderer' and 'say her name'. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Deadly_Nightshade Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 And while I'm not saying violence is the right course of action... I certainly wouldn't loose a minute of sleep if this happened again: "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Hurlshort Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I'd lose sleep over it. “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.” 3

Probably should have called to try to get him hit on the nose though. Why has elegance found so little following? smjjames Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster... for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.” I find that quote to be pretty apt for Israel as they're in danger of becoming the kind of people that they originally fled. Not in the nazi sense, more in the non-democratic apartheid sense.

Not in the nazi sense, more in the non-democratic apartheid sense. I'd say they're pretty much there, I image that you're referring to their treatment of the Ethiopian and the Sudanese. Also, it seems like an unfair comparison due to Germany having a strain on resources because of war efforts, leading to extreme measures. Israel seems to be heading there despite astronomical monetary support from the US; which we should stop IMO. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.

I meant the way they treat the Palestinians and israeli-arabs, the Jewish population is actually a minority in their country. They literally have a choice between having a democratic state while being a minority vs a nondemocratic state ruled by the minority.

Israel had a influx of immigrant from Africa; a portion being Ethiopian or Sudanese Jews, whom they have temporarily sterilized (at least we can hope its temporary) and packed into a repurposed jailhouse where they are harassed by authorities for doing anything that might be considered "settling in". It is very obvious that the Israeli government doesn't want them there despite a portion of them being jewish. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.

Volourn Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 "Where's your proof?" Obama's words are proof. The guy is pro BLm and if youa r epro BLM you are pro racism, hatred, and violence. Anyone who thinks I'm 'altright' or even 'right/Conservative/Republican' needs to first define what that means and what it actually entails then explain how I fit in. Quite frankly, my 'beliefs' would likely be termed 'traditional liberalism' if anything. I'm pro gay marriage (I don't give a **** if two people get married or have sex if they are adults), I'm not religious AT ALL (the only time I step into a church at all as an adult is if someone I know gets married),I'm fine with increasing minimum wage (even though I actually get paid more than minimum wage and increasing it will only hurt me by devaluing what I do make), etc., I believe in liberal arts, and I believe infreedom which used to be a staple of libveralism but not anymore. BUT L0L 'I'M 'alt right'. LMAO An insult that has no meaning and basically comes down to 'white person who darres has an opinion that isn't nu Liibtard. LMAO Trump is a douchebag. So is Obama. smjjames Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 (edited) I don't think anybody actually said that you're 'alt-right' volourn, at least not recently that I know of. Just out of random curiosity, are there any recent presidents that you don't think are douchebags? Though I guess you can look at all of the US presidents in history if you want. " if I had to guess I would say alt-right? " L0L The second quote is from the last page. As for your not so random curiousity, while neither are close to perfect 9I have certain big issues with them) but I'd say neither Bill Clinton or George Bush were 'douchebags'. Jenner Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 The incidents at Charlottesville have me incredibly concerned. Racism and white supremacy have always been problems in this country, it was practically built on the backs of both, this hatred has been part of the United States for a long time. But I've never before seen it this animated, this public, this emboldened. I know these white supremacist terrorists didn't come out of nowhere, they were radicalized online or by hyper-partisanship and inflamed by the election of Trump. I don't know how to counter the pipers pipe of white supremacy and start steering my more conservative friends back from such violent and hateful places. I'm afraid and worried, it's going to get worse isn't it? 1

teknoman2 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 it feels like USA is on the verge of a civil war. while it threatens to engage in a nuclear war. while it threatens to engage in a conventional war while it is currently fighting like 3 or 4 wars all over the world could the time when we all play fallout for real be coming? one can only hope The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.
