TheisEjsing Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We all know that the maps are gonna look total BOSS, but seriously, just look at the graphics upgrade on Eder both face and equipment aswell. This looks really bloody good and is a big improvement from the first game! Furthermore, this guy looks really dope aswell! What do you guys think? 6
IndiraLightfoot Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) I agree 100%! The graphics are so much better, judging by what we've been shown, and a lot of interesting combat and spell FX have much more oomph to them. Everything looks really promising. teenparty Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I just hope the game still runs smoothly. I don't want them to outdo themselves. It is beautiful, though.
floredon Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 The improvement of the character models is a huge deal for me, as it will allow for more immersion in the story. I also really like how your clothes (and hair possibly?) will be blown around by the wind. Hopefully there are more options for character model customization when you create a new character as well (facial features, etc). 1
Starwars Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 I must admit that I find the attention given to the models is somewhat strange as is it is an isometric game. I mean, there are the paper dolls but still... But yeah, the game looks immense judging from the video. 1 Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
Archaven Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 graphics seems to be an improvement. but it seems awkward how eder looks like now. maybe he's missing his neck. what i'm more interested in this time around would be the character animations.
ArnoldRimmer Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) So what specs do you need to run the game? Will linux still be supported? Edited January 29, 2017 by ArnoldRimmer Needful Things mod at Steam | Nexus
PrimeJunta Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Yeah, nice facelift. The animations look better, they've done something to the lighting model, and we're finally getting wind effects like they originally wanted to do. Those animated high-rez paperdolls are rad too ofc. 4 I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. Find it here: www.brikoleur.com
PrimeJunta Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 So what specs do you need to run the game? Will linux still be supported? Specs haven't been announced, but I doubt they're going to be much increased over Pillars 1; at worst you might have to turn off some fancy particle or lighting effects. Linux is listed as a supported platform. I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. Find it here: www.brikoleur.com

Why it look so different from the image on top? I much prefer the high quality 3D models instead.

ManifestedISO Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Oh wow, so that fire guy is confirmed godlike ... All Stop. On Screen.
Messier-31 Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 PC requirements? It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...
Eurhetemec Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 PC requirements? I wouldn't expect those until the game is within six months of release, perhaps later (some games wait until about a month before release to prevent disappointment if they can't optimize as much as they'd like).
TheisEjsing Posted January 30, 2017 Author Posted January 30, 2017 Was pc requirements an issue in PoE? I never had a single issue with load times or graphics on my mid tier rig.
anameforobsidian Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Feargus said the requirements would be about the same. It has better graphics but is more optimized.
Sedrefilos Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Was pc requirements an issue in PoE? I never had a single issue with load times or graphics on my mid tier rig. No they weren't. Apart maybe from loading screens that took around 10 secs. 1
FlintlockJazz Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 So... how long do you reckon before there is the PoE version of BG Tutu? (For those that don't know, tutu was a mod that ran BG1 in the BG2 engine). Sedrefilos Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 PC requirements? Indeed you're gonna be needing a pc to play the game... 1

(For those that don't know, tutu was a mod that ran BG1 in the BG2 engine). Josh addressed this on SomethingAwful, and his answer looks like "a while." Seems like there's a lot of mechanical and under-the-hood changes, which would make running Pillars in the Pillars 2 engine... challenging. (He might be underestimating the power of obsessive-compulsive modders though.) 2 I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. Find it here: www.brikoleur.com

I'm sure someone will crack it, they managed it with BG1 and 2 which had quite a few changes in basic mechanics itself I recall. Bercon Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 Could we have proper shadows this time? Not the potato quality crap Pillars of Eternity currently has... 1
Archaven Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 I'm not sure if this was answered before. Basically there's a very high quality model of Eder in 3D on the figstarter page screenshot. Is that model going to be used in-game? I'm asking this because this model does not match the in-game comparison of Eder in PoE and PoE:Deadfire. The one that Eder is smoking with his pipe. So what is this highly 3D model of Eder for? Is it just for concept art?
