If Martin was author of 2016 then the year would last 500 days and take 1,500 for him to write.

No kidding. We'll have to wait until 2020 to find out how 2016 ended.

You're awfully optimistic there with 2020. ;)

It did, with some parts of season 5 (Stannis' Battle of Winterfell hasn't happened in the book version yet but is very close) and much of season 6. It also confirmed one of the oldest fan theories.

Most significantly, R + L really = J ;)

There are a lot of differences at this point. The two stories don't really compare right now. Although they may end up in the same place. There are several characters alive in one but dead in the other and many characters in the books are very important who did not make it into the show at all of had very abbreviated roles. The Martels are a big player in the books, in the show they are pretty much done. Petyr Baelish is an even bigger force (albeit behind the scenes) in the books. Sansa is in a completely different place and situation. The girl who fled to Wall was not Sansa but Alys Karstark who figures to be a bigger player in books to come. Stannis may or may not have won the battle of Winterfell (there is really good evidence the letter from Ramsay Snow to John Snow came from someone else. And that someone would not be alive to send it if the Boltons won).

Here I go derailing the thread. I'll stop now.

just about right

The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder.

What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past?

Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born!

We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did.

I wish, I have family obligations.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

And yet I still liked the Force Awakens better. Mind you, I've never been a big Star Wars fan.
