If you really want to use two handed weapons all the time (survivability might be a problem in very hard encounters like bounties) you should also pick up the Forgemaster's Gloves. The summoned weapon "Firebrand" is a great sword that does burn damage only and has very high base damage. It's nice if you combine it with Scion of Flame, Flames of Devotion + Intense Flames and Sacred Immolation - because Scion of Flame works with it all. It's 120% weapon burn damage all the time with Firebrand and + 90% burnin lash for your FoDs. That will result in higher numbers compared to "normal" great swords - especially against targets with low deflection and weakness to fire.

Tidefall is of course always nice. It heals you and has like an additional "raw" lash over time. Later in the game it's even better than Firebrand - once you can properly enchant it with a burning lash and ACC and dmg bonuses and most of all durgan steel.

Another good option for a Bleak Walker is Bittercut, a sabre which you can get quite early if you want and which does corrode/slash damage. Besides the fact that two damage types are always nice and this is the only sabre with it, this one also works with Spirit of Decay, adding 20% damage to it's hits (funnily even the slash ones) like with Firebrand. You can add a corrosive lash (+30% instead of +25% because of Spirit of Decay), Remember Rakhan Field for your FoD (+30 instead of +25%), Intense Flames (+90% burn with FoD because of Scion of Flame). So your normal hits would do 120% corrode damage + 30% corrosive lash and your FoDs would do  120% +30% +30% corrode + 90% burn. Which is nice.

You can even duplicate it and dual wield it which also gives you 4 Vile Thorns per rest but also a huge defense malus to poison attacks. Other than that, I like it with a shield like Outworn Bucker - also looks nice together.

Drawn in Spring is maybe the best option, but it comes quite late.

I particularly like the Firebrand + Flames of Devotion (+ Intense Flames) + Scion as well, especially since the Scion is effectively applied twice. If you have Firebrand + FoD + Intense Flames, adding Scion of Flames actually gives you 53% more fire damage (against the same 1.5 x Fire DR).

Hmm, fire....

I really dont know... Which better and why? Bittercut or Drawn of Spring? Bittercut is very sweet for my Bleak Walker and i have spirit of decay + corrosive lash. The base dps is higher by the Bittercut AND its slash/corrosive dmp type, DoS is ONLY slash... hmmm..

I'd take Bittercut because of the two damage types. It also has 2 spells of Vile Thorns which is has no recovery when you cast it. You can quickly cast those two in very quick succession when things go south. Don't ask me why there's no recovery. I just recently discovered this while testing dual Bittercuts on a monk.

Bittercut would be better on higher damage reduction targets, drawn in spring on low damage reduction targets. If you are playing on POTD most enemies have increased damage reduction so bittercut would definitely be best on POTD

Are soulbound weapons so inferior? I wanted to put St. Ydwens Redeemer or Steadfast on my palladin, they look so nice (plus their ability to cast Sunlance/divine mark should stack with Scion of flame, right?)

Soulbound weapons cannot be lashed, so that's already -25% of auto-attack dmg. They cannot be durganized. But those extra 15% are quite important when you want to achieve zero-recovery; especially if you are not dual-wielding.

Bittercut would be better on higher damage reduction targets, drawn in spring on low damage reduction targets. If you are playing on POTD most enemies have increased damage reduction so bittercut would definitely be best on POTD

Drawn in Spring is actually very good vs targets with very high DR. Quite often it will deal more raw damage than slashing.

I haven't done the math here (thus correct me if I'm wrong), but would expect Drawn in Spring to be best used in long fights, while Bittercut to shine in the quick skirmishes, when you can get most from the FoD attacks, esp. if you clone and dual-wield it.

It's also better against targets that are resistent or immune to slash. ;)

By the way: did you take into account that Bittercut + Corrosive Lash + Spirit of Decay rises the base damage by 20% and therefore also raises the damage of the lash which again gets raised by 20%? It's not plain 20% base damage + 5% lash damage I guess.

But sure: a sabre is a lot slower than a dagger and has less ACC - and the 25% wounding is strong. Also nice that Drawn in Speing comes superb. It's just annoying if you meet slash resistant foes. And don't forget the Vile Thorns. And to me: Don't forget the poison/disease debuff either. :)

If the dps difference isn't so big (I can't exactly say, but it feels like it's not that big) I would still stick with Bittercut - but only if I wanted to take Spirit of Decay anyways. Just because you don't have to watch out for immunities/resistances that much. Without Spirit of Decay Bittercut is only half the fun obviously.
