Closed Beta Issues Thread

Us this thread to discuss issues you find in the Pathfinder Adventures Closed Beta. Do make sure to check out the known issues list to see if we are already looking into your issue.

 

List of Known Issues:

 

  • Quest Mode - Work in Progress. Some progression blocking issues and not properly balanced.
  • Character Dialogues - After "Local Heroes" there will be some missing dialogues from certain characters.
  • Audio - Lots of SFX and Music will be coming online in the following weeks.
  • Booster Cards - Will be some changes and the more powerful ones are not implemented yet. Additionally, if it has missing artwork the card will function properly but might not highlight as useable.
  • The only decks avilable will be "B," "1," and "2."
  • There is a planned update to the Beta but it might require a wipe of your saved games.
  • If you have played a previous version of the game, uninstall that before installing this build. Prior saved data is known to cause issues.
  • There currently is no notification that you have to be logged in to collect gold. If you are not logged in you will not collect gold.
  • Also, you must be logged in to use gold in the store.
  • iOS Login Screen - Currently when entering in your user name it will mirror the test (and captialize the 1st letter) into the Password field. Please select the Password field and backspace the text and enter the password you wish to use. Note: the password field does not properly highlight that it is selected but will take the inputs
  • When collecting gold from completion of scenarios it doesn't refresh the gold counter immediately. Ex. If you collect 14 gold and finish the Tutorial and it gives you 100 gold, it will still show you at 14. If you go to the vault, it will properly show you having 114 gold.
  • Villains are missing their Monster card type. So powers that reference monsters will not take effect on a Villain card.
  • After playing the Tutorial once, playing it again may cause it to overwrite your save.
  • Glitch makes it so you can buy a character more than once. You will only get one character, but the gold will be taken.
  • If you leave the game after you explore and come back, the top card of the location deck will be on display
  • Linking your facebook account isn't letting you gain gold. A workaround is to avoice that feature and create an account on the welcome screen instead.
  • The Rules "Core Concepts" subsection lists "Example" many times and doesn't update its content.
  • Nook is not officially supported, nor is Kindle Fire
  • If you attemt to enter the store when you're not logged in (and when linked to facebook due to its issues) the store appears to be empty.
  • If you try to click the button to banish or bury on a device with a 4:3 aspect ratio (most apple devices), you will instead open the character sheet. A workaround is to drag the card to the top where the chain is displayed to Banish, or to the bottom left where a pile of dirt is displayed to bury.
  • If all characters die in a scenario, the death message appears jumbled.
  • Editing decks at the scenario select screen causes a glitch that will reset your decks and character progress. You can however edit your decks at the end of a scenario when you win or lose.
  • Purchasing a character and logging out of the game will remove the character from your save. If this happens let us know and we'll give you more gold to get the character back.
  • Pressing the "?!" button during the Tutorial causes a progression break glitch that causes the application to need to be restarted

Playing Approach to Thistletop with Merisiel and Kyra, Kyra used a Glaive for her first combat check against Gogmurt, then discard her Longsword +1 on the second combat check. The Glaive stayed displayed, and now it's Merisiel's turn and the Glaive is still there. It's not counting against Kyra's hand limit, either.

Hard story mode. Attack at Sandpoint

Cheelah is at Catheral. Meets Ghost. Reveal his bastard Sword. Use his ability to add d6. And vola, the Sword die is missing.

No no... I also experienced this bug, and it makes me just so mad, good golly. So mad. Few weeks? Fine, I'll go keep playing Pathfinder Adventures, but tell you that I'm playing something different.

No no... I also experienced this bug, and it makes me just so mad, good golly. So mad. Few weeks? Fine, I'll go keep playing Pathfinder Adventures, but tell you that I'm playing something different.

Actual issue. Not a bug, but UI should be clearer.

Fought a Giant. Needed 15.

Rolled 14, on about 6 dice.

But I had a Luckstone!

So it says Success at the bottom of the screen.

I clicked the green arrow.

And Failed.

 

Should definitely not say success until I use the Luckstone.

Not sure if these are known issues, since they seem pretty basic, but I figured I'd throw them in here just in case:

 

Darts and the Impaler of Thorns do not offer a chance to reroll dice when failing a combat check.

 

On iPad Air 2, the "Ar" of "Arrange" is cut off in the help text when playing Augury, so the sentence begins "range the cards" instead of "Arrange the cards."

 

In Foul Misgivings, if you encounter a Haunt on your first exploration at the Academy, encounter Aesha, and defeat her, the "explore now" and "forfeit exploration" buttons pop up on the map when you are choosing which location to explore with Aesha's power. If you hit "forfeit exploration," play proceeds normally, but if you hit "explore now," wackiness ensues. I fought a monster I couldn't see and couldn't play cards against, discarded my hand in damage, and got stuck on the map. I thought my progress was lost for sure, but on a whim, I tapped a location -- and Kyra actually moved there (?!). The Academy stayed open and I never got to scout a deck with Aesha, so I don't recommend this strategy if you're trying to win the scenario. Fortunately, I had Beast Mode available, so I turned it on and frickin' won anyway, but we can't expect all players to do this.

Not sure if this is still a known issue for the current build, as I'm playing on my brother's android and I don't know if we are in beta 2 or 3-

 

I played through Brigandoom twice(lost the first time) then went to play the next scenario, only to notice that my decks were reset to starting decks, the cards I had gained from the first two runs nowhere to be found. If this is already being fixed for an upcoming build,  then I apologize for harping on a known issue.

Never mind... it was actually my own fault. I was messing around with the assign characters screen in between missions and must have assigned new versions of the same characters.

After using Ilsoari, game froze.

1-2. Lem at the Sandpoint Cathedral.

I think the issue has to do with finding Ilsoari, and using him and then the game not remembering to close the location.

Anyone who has the Sandpoint devil as a pet, is nobody's ally.

More flexibility is needed when encountering the Villain.

Was going to temp close the shrine and chose to banish blessing.

Then realized that it might be easier to roll the skill check, and just discard the blessing, so I hit the red X and...

It counter as a failure to close.

Should be able to back out of a choice, or see stats of the different choices, before committing them to the game.

If you quit at the rewards screen after completing a quest (haven't checked story mode, but suspect it happens there as well):

 

You can continue and get the rewards screen again, which will give you gold again. Just grabbed 500 gold out of thin air before I noticed.

A few more very basic issues, with apologies if they are already known.

 

If Ezren plays a display spell (such as Strength) outside of an encounter, he gets to use Expanded Spellbook. If he plays a display spell at the beginning of an encounter, he never gets an option to use Expanded Spellbook.

 

If Ezren plays Dispel Magic, sees a spell, recharges Dispel Magic, uses Expanded Spellbook, encounters the spell, and acquires it, he should get a free explore -- but he doesn't. It's possible that not all of these steps are necessary to achieve the bug, but it's a pain to set up, so I didn't test all of the permutations (i.e., what happens if he doesn't recharge Dispel Magic and/or doesn't activate Expanded Spellbook).

 

At the beginning of 1.1, Merisiel hails Father Zantus as Father Desna. So rude! You could maybe pass this off as Merisiel being irreverent ... but I think it's just a mistake. :)

 

And here's one I beseech other testers for help on. Playing Black Fang's Dungeon a few times, I sometimes encountered Black Fang and didn't get an option to temp close locations. I think this happened when Ezren encountered Black Fang off of a free exploration from acquiring a magic item ... but I'm not 100% certain. Has anyone else encountered this?

As far as not being able to go again after finding a magic item using detect magic, it's all in the words. Detect magic is an encounter not an exploration

I don't know if this has been mentioned but monsters who have difficulty increases based on adventure number do not seem to be increasing I'll try to take screenshots as discovered.
