  1. I would like some more obvious indicator when the skill check type changes. Playing a blessing and having the game decide 3d4 is way better than 2d12 is annoying. I would also like a warning if one of my cards played nullifies one of previous cards: If I play an attack spell, it means I want that effect. If a blessing afterwards completely removes the spell, I should be warned.
  2. I turned sound effects and background music all the way off. Everytime a scenario starts, the splash screen of the location still plays with a loud whoosh.
  3. Trying to stop this form of cheating is pretty much impossible, or would be incredibly restrictive. I like the current setup. If players are going to power game, they can feel free to do so. Once you are in a multiplayer game, you fall into the same boat anyways. Someone can just stack maces by playing multiplayer with themselves. I doubt anyone wants their flaming mace +1 to poof into a mace every time they play multiplayer just to combat that corner case. In single player, I understand the desire for it to be just like the physical game, but I don't mind this modest level of power creep. If I want to try out Seoni, Lem, and Ezren in the same "save", and you don't allow some spell duplication, one of those mages will definitely be forced down a fairly specific build since they will have no useful attack spells, OR all three of them will be quite mediocre. With all that said, I could get behind some sort of "character legality" check in the future. Can this character be built with one box, given the scenarios they have succeeded in? I don't care about combinations of characters -- just one at a time. That would be a fix to this "all the flaming maces" problem?
  4. We are now on beta 3 and the character progression bugs are still rampant. I have no idea what the story mode selection screen means at this point, just that if I touch my party, all my character progress is in jeopardy. The talk of switching parties up and trying new groups and all of that is definitely not working right now, but I also don't know what its supposed to look like anymore. This might be too demanding, but can a developer shed some light on the situation regarding 1) The known bugs about character progression and if beta 3 was supposed to address them. 2) There is character progression (feats and decks) and adventure progression. I don't know which of these is tied to what screen or how it is controlled at all. Please clarify what the plans are. 3) How are quest mode characters supposed to interact with story mode This is probably the most frustrating and difficult thing for me to help test since I just lose a bunch of progress that is irrecoverable, which means I have a hard time even reproducing/testing it further. It's also a true dealbreaker in terms of playing this game as a customer.
  5. Testing the character progression (so scary!) Click on the party selection button at scenario selection screen [bUG]: Uh oh, this is my experienced Merisiel, but no skill feats! https://goo.gl/photos/K2pPNA47Ks6zP1e86 Also, deck looks like starter deck https://goo.gl/photos/SRmvuLRXgnmuffPm7 Click options->quit Select Sceario, skip preview, click on the party selection button. Phew, looks like i have my experienced Merisiel after all (Also, she is now a 'B' character, for basic I assume): https://goo.gl/photos/ib6jHuo45EDHYnKp6 click on the deck inspection button: Yup, my deck is still in tact as well: https://goo.gl/photos/CR7cJyGk4sLQkRhy9 Played a scenario, and everything was fine. 2nd Try: Get to the scary screen where characters don't have their skill feats and move them around a little, enter a scenario and now they are reset =(
  6. Don't know if this is a bug, since everything worked out, but its such a corner case that I thought mentioning it would be useful: Attack on Sandpoint (Ezren, Lini, Marisiel, Seelah, Harsk, Amiri) Regular, No Permadeath, No PnP Run into Ripnugget and Stickfoot, try to temporarily close locations: Harsk at Swallowtail Festival -> Try to close location -> Run into Goblin Raider -> Defeat Goblin Raider -> Do I want to close location? -> Yes, run into bastard sword -> Permanently close location If I say "no" to permanently close location, will the location be temporarily closed? If I fail to acquire the bastard sword, will the location be temporarily closed?
  7. Quest Mode Cheater characters (previous post) break the game upon entering: https://goo.gl/photos/3DgFKmPp8du96wRcA (Harsk level 4, 2 skill feats!) Dungeon of nothing: https://goo.gl/photos/GCikBSdE8C23Zrmd6 Game breaks at this point. Quitting and returning to quest screen brings you back to party selection, but cheater characters are gone: https://goo.gl/photos/NaWq2iKxWwdJpanu7 (Lini and Ezren the first victims) https://goo.gl/photos/3DgFKmPp8du96wRcA (Notice that Lini and Ezren are gone)
  8. Quest Mode, Android, Nexus 6: Adventure mode reward screen is clipped: https://goo.gl/photos/3YzzkizAyDVsjacE8 If you have uneven levels, and you get differing rewards (also see top screenshot). When I got to the skill feat rewards for the two lower level characters, I couldn't select anything (screenshot not super informative): https://goo.gl/photos/KiVCXR7xyLHXKekT8 After mashing furiously around the buttons, I was able to some how click on them, but also some other character's skill feats. Here's Lini getting a second dex skill while being greened out: https://goo.gl/photos/owGRt7FEppzgkFpu9 Finishing, and starting a new scenario, even characters I didn't click on have a random extra skill feat: The suddenly stronger brigade: https://goo.gl/photos/FJ6tX9BxGStDy2yx5 (Merisiel) https://goo.gl/photos/589MABwd3Y4KdWFd7 (Ezren) The suddenly wiser brigade: https://goo.gl/photos/HZqbmM6XGreL2e346 (Lini) https://goo.gl/photos/nAxSdS5GDCVXBB586 (Harsk) Random skill feats that I would never choose willingly: https://goo.gl/photos/6cQ9neXL4eYV9ZxD9 (Seelah Dex) https://goo.gl/photos/T4yTwQUHDPkodyf87 (Seoni Str)
  9. If you quit at the rewards screen after completing a quest (haven't checked story mode, but suspect it happens there as well): You can continue and get the rewards screen again, which will give you gold again. Just grabbed 500 gold out of thin air before I noticed.
  10. While we are at it, I would love if there was something that told me if I needed to defeat a monster or not. I'm always worried that I'll hit Merisiel's evade without thinking and fail to defeat a nasty barrier.
  11. Speaking as a beta tester, I think this thread is slanted a little. I think the biggest reason there is a delay is that there are certain bugs that cannot exist in the released product. I know of at least three known issues that I would be incredibly surprised if they were completely squashed in one more release. Quest Mode is actually a great testing bed to future proof this game. Games like these are incredibly difficult to build correctly because of future cards. Almost always, a new card will come along that breaks the rules, which is easy enough to do in a physical game with a human brain figuring out what that means. By that I mean, at least you can continue playing the game (although there's usually a good chance you are playing it wrong somewhere). For a computer game, this is a nightmare. Quest mode puts random cards together with random wild powers, which is good for testing. Fixing things for quest mode IS fixing the game.
  12. I think the issue is a little deeper than just the Warchanter though. One thing is I don't want to roll all those checks per character if I don't have to, it's way more decisions I should need to work through. The other thing is that these type of cards will continue to exist. Nualia is another example that has been shown to behave poorly with undos. We also know of bugs for revealed cards not returning to hand properly which I suspect is in the same category of problems. I think the developers decided to do something really helpful to players but hard to implement correctly with the seamless undo. I actually don't know how you do this properly, it seems incredibly difficult to account for all these possibilities. I think it's important to limit the damage of a "hung" turn though. An option to "forfeit" a turn and automatically fail at all checks but end your turn would be at least some way to get of these terrible game breaking situations.
  13. =( Now I've lost all progress and can't even start a scenario because the game broke hard, I think my only recourse it to complete wipe the game since I now have no quest mode or story mode to play. Actually, I can't access the gallery or log out either, so the game is truly completely broke. Goblin Warchanter again. (What a card..., it seems like there needs to be a thorough review on how "if <condition>, do <something>" events behave when dealing with both 1) undos and 2) characters other than the current character being forced to do the <something>. Encountered with Valeros, wanted to see if Harsk's ability can be used without wisdom check (should it be allowed?). Either way, it prompted for the wisdom check, so I hit cancel and game completely froze. It also put the "current character" marker on Harsk instead of Valeros if that helps with the debugging. From memory: Heroic 1-1 (Ezren, Lini, Merisiel, Harsk, Sajan, Valeros) powers: full packs (weapon/ally/something? requires a bury) ??? (all bane difficulties increased by 3) ^---- Don't remember the exact wording, but it definitely doesn't apply to all the bane checks, such as the goblin warchanter wisdom check. Will probably pause playing for a little bit to mourn all the progress lost and then wipe the whole client and start again.
  14. Tap the dice is terrifying to me. I don't want to accidentally roll the dice, a button in a specific location would be fine.
