Blarghagh Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Are congratulations in order? Is that benign or what?
Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 Nope, its grown rapidly in the last two months. It used to be flat and only 2-3mm. Now its humongous and needs a doctor.
Malcador Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Death will claim you soon enough. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Blarghagh Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That sucks. Good luck with that. Í'm not sure if your jubilant tone won't make people think you're just trolling or something, though.
Nonek Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I wish you all the best sir, may the all clear be sounded and your recovery be swift. If it's not too presumptious I will include you in my prayers next Sunday. Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!
Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 That sucks. Good luck with that. Í'm not sure if your jubilant tone won't make people think you're just trolling or something, though. Im trolling myself. My own body. My GP appointment is another 3 weeks away.
Guard Dog Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Hmmm. I was hoping you meant you were having sex with a girl born in June. Hope it's not serious. 3 "While it is true you learn with age, the down side is what you often learn is what a damn fool you were before" Thomas Sowell
Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 As long as it hasnt spread anywhere else. Otherwise I need to write my will.
Tort Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Nope, its grown rapidly in the last two months. It used to be flat and only 2-3mm. Now its humongous and needs a doctor. Good news everyone! it isn't necessarily cancer, and if it is you are half way to victory with that attitude (and iirc that is the most easily treated cancer) My GP appointment is another 3 weeks away.3 weeks to a GP? you are a very paintent man.. where you from ?
Namutree Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) You don't have cancer. Probably. Hopefully. I have a mark like that too actually. Mine's bigger though. Gfted1 Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Maybe its a superfluous third nipple. "I'm your biggest fan, Ill follow you until you love me, Papa"
Gorth Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I thought those things were called nipples and lots of people have two of them. (just kidding, as an ex-aussie, i'm painfully aware of the dangers of melanoma) “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 You don't have cancer. Probably. Hopefully. I have a mark like that too actually. Mine's bigger though. But its been growing.
Monte Carlo Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Does it bleed or itch? Doesn't look like it. Is there hair growing out of it (hair usually won't grow on skin cancers)? I wouldn't wait three weeks, I'd be banging on the surgery doors but if you've got the cojones to Google image 'skin cancer' it might put your mind at rest, as that doesn't look like it to me. But, hey I ain't a doctor. 1
Namutree Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 You don't have cancer. Probably. Hopefully. I have a mark like that too actually. Mine's bigger though. But its been growing. Well, growing is never good. Can't believe you're waiting three weeks. "Good thing I don't heal my characters or they'd be really hurt." Is not something I should ever be thinking. Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 IKR. I'll try calling them, the 3 weeks was a non emergency appointment I already had booked, and I cant be bothered calling to book an earlier one.
213374U Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Yep, much like Monte, I wouldn't wait 3 weeks. Cancer is srs bsns. On the other hand, from the pic you posted it doesn't seem to fulfill any of the ABCD criteria. Get it taken a look at asap, but don't start writing your goodbyes just yet. 1 - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Lexx Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I think I have something similar. It was kinda fast growing at some point, but then stopped and nothing happened anymore ever since. Should most likely visit a doctor, but truth told, I got no damn time for that. It takes ages to get a date set, and even then you will sit hours at the doctor. The only time I could actually do this is while I've got my vacation.... "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Monte Carlo Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 IKR. I'll try calling them, the 3 weeks was a non emergency appointment I already had booked, and I cant be bothered calling to book an earlier one. Tyme for a cool true story. My mate wandered in to see the GP a couple of years ago with a nasty boil-type scab on his upper arm. This guy loves sunbathing, a total nightmare. The GP looks at it and says, "I don't like the look of that. We'll get it tested." Three days later the GP rings him and says, "you free for an appointment, they can do you at 3pm?" He said, "what day?" He replied, "today." They cut the thing out that afternoon, a 3cm cube. It was totally malignant. My friend has been in remission and is fine, but he takes all his holidays in shady, temperate places and wears weapons-grade sun-block. TL;DR - Britain's NHS is only really good at two things - minor crap the GP can deal with and serious crap that'll kill you. You need to see that GP ASAP, and if there's a drama they'll get it sorted.
Mungri Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 I tried calling the GP surgery and they told me to call at 8 in the morning and mention that I need to be seen by a GP. The thing is when I booked an appointment before, it wasnt about the melanoma but just about getting my prescription medication dosages altered and that one was in the second week of may.
PrimeJunta Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 +1 on getting it looked at ASAP but I too would put my money on it not being cancer, so I wouldn't start referring to it as "the melanoma" just yet. Let us know what they said though m'kay? I have a project. It's a tabletop RPG. It's free. It's a work in progress. Find it here: www.brikoleur.com
