Mashiki Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Steam if GoG Galexy was done, I'd get my copy there. Sadly I expect that GoG's software will be done about two weeks before Witcher 3 is released.
Delicieuxz Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Steam does DRM-free as well. Wasteland 2, and a ton of other games on Steam are DRM-free. I'm wondering if PoE will also be DRM-free on Steam.

tarasis Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Don't know yet, both have their pluses and minuses Steam + Easy patching + time tracking - game locked to Steam/Valve, so game lost if I mess up somehow and get my account banned - Extra client to have always running GOG + DRM free + great ideals - patching is a pain in the ass - slower to get patches out as they have to go through some process or other first I tend to think of new stuff on Steam, old stuff on GOG. Its been an easy choice on a couple of Kickstart projects as I've had two keys, so I've redeemed one on each service (Wasteland 2, Tex Murphy Tesla, and one or two others)
Reever Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Only 35%, huh? Well, that's at least something. Hopefully more people will come over to GOG when Galaxy is available.
sparklecat Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Steam. Because I was less than happy with my GoG version of Wasteland 2. Missed a patch, the next one wasn't compatible with my version any more, had to download the full client again instead of a few MB. Sucks if you're on a slow DSL connection. I love GoG, but usually only buy older titles from them. Incidentally, I had the same problem and just emailed support; they uploaded the patch I missed and emailed me a link.

Because, unlike Steam, they have support... Fast support, too. And not uncommonly lower prices. I only wish they were as fast about getting patches up; I'd prefer GOG overall, but I'm going with Steam for my digital copy because of that and the preloading.
Sonntam Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Been going back and forth even till today... but in the end I chose Steam. Preload + faster patches + possibility to upgrade my edition to include documentary & almanac for a cheaper price.
Messier-31 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Gonna Obtain a Game It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...
JimBobbo Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I generated a steam key for my digital version, as I have a physical copy of the game being sent to me as per my backer status. I don't mind it on Steam because of the ease of patching and how unobtrusive the client is.
logicalconundrum Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 GoG for me. Yeah the patching is not ideal (the headache of Divinity and Dreamfall), but I also don't like auto-patching. Plus, there's always that second copy anyway. 1
Hiro Protagonist II Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I did both GOG and Steam. I'm an achievement whore and caved in to Steam. But also wanted a copy for my GOG bookshelf. 2
endruwiggin Posted March 25, 2015 Author Posted March 25, 2015 GoGalicious! My thought exactly when I saw it in my collection
Luckmann Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I did both GOG and Steam. I'm an achievement whore and caved in to Steam. But also wanted a copy for my GOG bookshelf. Except Lionheart, damn that was a disappointment. So much potential. So bad.
Deadly_Nightshade Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Except Lionheart, damn that was a disappointment. So much potential. So bad. The first city was alright (basically the only bit of the game that got fleshed out before it became a hack-and-slash fest). 4 "Geez. Lycaerix Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Steam, because I love hoarding achievements. I'll grab it on GOG again at some point because DRM-free always wins.
jaydee.2k Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 GOG is clearly the winner to me. DRM free all the way! And I love their catalogue.
