But...I guess I agree with you then, since I have yet to see a good romance in a cRPG. Totally agree. Maybe someday we will be pleasantly surprised. Till then, keep them out of crpg's. kefka
Totally agree. Maybe someday we will be pleasantly surprised. Till then, keep them out of crpg's. A total waste of dev time. period. I agree too. I thought the Bastila 'romance' was especially bad since it wasn't really a romance at all, just inane flirting and cheesy dialog that made me cringe. And then bastila ends it faster than it began. hmm, no thanks. Truly a waste of time.

Frosty_V2.1
I'm indifferent about it really, I still think it's better to keep trying (and is probably expected being a sequel) to write full romances so at least they will have some more experience there, either that or don't do it at all for any games in the future (or near future anyway). KotOR was too short to make it seem meaningful or involving with the way that BioWare wrote it anyway IMO. Plus there is a certain cheese factor that I am constantly aware of
Akari
Will there be a new music score? And if so, is Jeremy Soule composing? It will be an all new musical score. I'm not personally certain who's doing it. -Akari
Akari
Lots of questions! I can take a stab at a couple of them that relate more to programming issues. - Will the game be moddable from the get-go? No more or less moddable than KotOR1 was when it came out. - Will there be new locations made just for this game? Of course. - Will ranged weapons be deadly? We're taking steps to make ranged weapons more useful. - Will the minigames be optional this time? I'm pretty sure one of the articles out there said that they will all be optional. I don't know any different from that, personally. -Akari

Meshugger
Romances need to be removed from crpg's. period. 1. One of the reasons why KotOR1 was so successful was the Revan/Bastila/Carth romance. 2. It's Star Wars So KotORII without romance, it just ain't gonna happen! Jonny_Evil
As the magazine articles are already wrong or unclear on a couple of points could you reveal whether the PC is Revan or if he/she is returning as an NPC? A dev answer one way or another would be nicely definitive. Thank you.
kefka
So KotORII without romance, it just ain't gonna happen! yeah, you're probably right. *sigh* It's true that many people enjoyed the romances in Kotor. I didn't, personally, but then, the game doesn't exist only for me...
newc0253
some questions for the devs: any plans to fix the inventory interface? is Bioware involved at all? or is it just you and Lucasarts? will i be able to cut someone's arm off with a lightsabre this time? will what remains of the jedi council in KOTOR2 be as pompous and annoying as the one in KOTOR1? is enlargeable breast size a force power? will there be ewoks in KOTOR2? and if i buy my copy of KOTOR2 in germany, will they still be killable? if mickey's a mouse, and pluto's a dog, then what's goofy? twilek porn - yes or no? dumber than a bag of hammers

kefka
btw, i've always thought it weird that fanfics are so popular. I mean, everyone has their own thoughts about the characters they play, so why on earth would they want to read someone else's? "keep my mental image of revan intact", they scream! Then promptly go and read a fanfic. hmm.

Then promptly go and read a fanfic. hmm. Eh, some people want to see continuations, and as it turns out, a lot of people's visions of Revan surprisingly concur. I've had a few people who tell me my Revan's almost exactly as they've imagined their own. Me, I read fanfiction because... 's always interesting to see other people's take on certain characters, ideas and such. Besides, some of the fanfics are phenomenally good, and good reading is always welcome. Meshugger
Yes, some more questions: 1) Will Character (mostly partymembers) & planetary info be revealed at/after E3? 2) Compared to KotOR, will Obsidian take more time to make more "fulfilling" endings?
