  1. I had this problem as well. What worked for me was remapping the keys back to the original layout, W A S D and space. Then when the race starts and the lights go from red to green before hitting the mouse button to accelerate I hit the space key and then the mouse button. The swoop hits the roof like always and then drops immediately back down and works perfectly after so I can finish the race.
  2. Gotta agree with him, short development time made Jedi Academy suck a whole lot of balls too. That quote above though, have there been any scripts released for the removed sequences? Or is that guy just passing on rumours? Even just reading what happens would be good, and would make that last level of generic hallways and random enemies tolerable. *Edit. Nevermind, found the thread. :">
  3. STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC II - THE SITH LORDS Update ReadMe Version 1.0a 11-Feb-2005 ############################################################## Thank you for downloading the STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC II - THE SITH LORDS Update This update includes the following: Manual pdf ##############################################################
  4. When I played HL2 I thought the engine could have been designed specifically for a Jedi Knight game. Force Grip gravity gun style would be outstanding, and free reign to tug anything about you want instead of the few things you're supposed to what be pretty good too. It would definitely need better characters though, Jaden and his/her whiny pal were the most irritating game characters ever. Jedi are supposed to be warrior monk style folk trained from childhood like shaolin monks. So why are so many Jedi in things lately such stereotyped whiny little teen ****? I blame Anakin Skywalker.
  5. That was one of the positives, as far as I was concerned. I don't like playing an existing character (Revan was an exception because, technically, he wasn't "existing" before KOTOR was made). Uh, did Kyle Katarn exist before Dark Forces? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Where? I thought he was invented for Dark Forces way back in 1995.
  6. Hey thanks people. The item crafting sounds interesting DarthDoGooder, for some unknown reason I really like pulling things apart and making new stuff :"> it's one of the reasons I like arcanum. The swoop biking, is it a proper race with other riders or still just a time trial with added obstacles? It's good to hear that they've improved the pacing of Pazaak, have they made it any prettier though? The awkward taking out of the game when playing pazaak was one of the reasons it lost it's appeal for me after awhile. It was like the game was saying "hey, stop being immersed in the Star Wars universe for a while, my old son, and be reminded of card games on your old mobile instead." Thanks for all the info.
  7. Hi, I've had a good look around on the boards and the various reviews but I can't find any info on the mini games in TSL other than the fact that they exist. Could anyone tell me what Obsidian have done to overhaul them, is pazaak better? Swoop racing more exciting? Turret game less tedious? Also how have they upgraded item upgrading? Being able to build things from scratch sounds interesting, can you build almost anything or is it only certain things? I'm not asking for story spoilers though, that's why I've posted here and not the spoilers forum. Thanks in advance for your time.
  8. Being able to play a "chessmaster" style villain would make Kotor2 perfect. Subtle dialogue choices to guide others into the path that most benefits me. Ahhh... Mission: You'll have to kill me! But I don't think you will. Revan: No, I'm not going to kill you Mission, but Carth will. He'll think you've joined me and he'll kill you without a thought. Mission: But... Carth's not like that! Revan: You think not? He's just abandoned you Mission. Would he have left you if he thought otherwise? He killed his son for being a Sith, what makes you think you'd receive any different treatment? That kind of thing would've made that whole scene so much better.
  9. I've got another question about the upgrades system. Will you be able to actually build things from scratch? For example get ahold of high quality components and build yourself a hybrid weapon (like a disrupter/ion rifle) or a very high quality ordinary weapon that has the potential to be more powerful than an upgraded one could be, because you're building it from scratch?
  10. PC, and with a vague hope it will be a little less.... x-boxy than the original. Peter Molyneux summed up the difference between console and PC games once while talking about fable. He said PC games are targeted towards people who actually want to play the game and invest time in it, while console gamers like something as simple as possible to play when they roll in from the pub. Don't know if it's true or not but it is the attitude of at least one major figure in the game industry, I just hope obsidian don't share his viewpoint. If they ignored it and made a more complex PC-style game for the X-box I'm sure it would delight the many Kotor X-boxers as well as the PC players.
  11. Rouge squadron? Isn't that the crack team of elite Jedi makeup artists? Anyway, just had to disagree with the mention of Jedi Academy. Speaking from a single player perspective Jedi Outcast was far better and even that paled in comparison with Dark forces and Jedi Knight + Mysteries of the Sith.
  12. I doubt you'd deflect bullets with a lightsaber. Just think about it: Bullet is fired, bullet flies, Jedi whips up lightsaber, bullet hits lightsaber, lightsaber melts bullet, high speed blob of molten metal formerly known as bullet hits Jedi in face. Ouch. Anyway, the only chance you'd have of playing a non-jedi in a starwars CRPG is if they set one during the time of the empire before ep IV, when all the jedi are dead or hiding and the only sith are vader and the emperor. Then you could have an entire game that didn't feature even one of the force wielding wee buggers.
  13. but isn't that the same thing as cheating? who'd want to play black jack if the dealer had his own deck with better cards in it... The Pazaak card game is definitely getting some love from us designer types and will have some changes. Rich (Akari) touched on some of them. It is still going to be an optional part of the game. But hopefully there will be even more to like for you Pazaak fans out there. -Ferret Is pazaak getting a cosmetic overhaul as well? I mean, the game was fun to play, but man was it ugly. Individual looking cards (ie. not plain boxes with numbers in) would brighten the game up no end.
