Well, the KQ games weren't point and click to begin with, not the early ones anyway. If they really want to stay true to the series' roots they should go with a text parser. Keyrock Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) I'm so insanely hyped for this game. On my list of games coming this year, only Wasteland 2, Project Eternity and Bayonetta 2 score higher on the hype-o-meter. The good new: Early Access launches tomorrow. The bad news: The Linux version is most likely not launching tomorrow, but somewhere down the line, so I have to wait a little bit longer. :sadpanda: Edited August 18, 2014 by Keyrock 3 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

HoonDing Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) New game from Remember Me dev http://eu.square-enix.com/en/blog/announcing-life-strange Life is strange, wouldn't you agree? It has a funny way of always surprising you, particularly when things happen that you just don't expect. You can change one tiny thing, but the consequences of that miniscule action can potentially lead to catastrophic results…There has recently been a lot of discussion on the merits and disadvantages of remakes or reboots in games and we here on the Square Enix blog have been keeping a keen eye on your opinions and responding to them where possible. But what if we now announced an entirely new IP in the official Square Enix family? What if this title was wholly different to anything we have ever attempted before, both in gameplay and narrative? What if this title was released digitally as regular episodic content, with each new chapter building and evolving based on the choices you made in previous episodes? What if we now gave all of this a name: Life is Strange?Max Caulfield has been absent from Arcadia Bay, Oregon for five years now. Upon returning home she discovers that Rachel Amber, a fellow senior at school, has disappeared under mysterious and rather uncomfortable circumstances. While trying to uncover the truth Max reunites with an old friend, Chloe, and makes a startling discovery: Max has the power to rewind time…Thus begins the story for a game that everyone here at Square Enix has fallen in love with. I know I've mentioned this before, but Life is Strange is something entirely different - we've teamed up with DONTNOD Entertainment (the guys and girls behind 'Remember Me') and they've delivered some amazing stuff. Each and every texture in Life is Strange is a hand drawn work of art and every action enacts a butterfly effect - but with the power to rewind time, what would you change? And would it turn out to be a change for the better or worse?Life is Strange is set to be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and is being played by journalists at gamescom this week, so be sure to watch out for their coverage! In the meantime, we'll try out best to keep you updated with news via the blog and the official Life is Strange channels Would rather have Remember Me sequel, but that story was finished anyway. Looking forward to it, DONTNOT are likely the most talented Euro devs after Cyanide/Spiders. Edited August 18, 2014 by HoonDing The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Raithe Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 ..Tsk. for fraks sake.. Gamespot - Shadows of Mordor DLC pass announced The game isn't even released and they're already hyping this.. Warner Bros. today announced that upcoming role-playing game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will have a DLC pass, but didn't answer all the questions gamers will probably have about it. The DLC Pass includes the exclusive Guardians of the Flaming Eye mission (and you can earn the Rising Flame rune by completing it), and early access to the "Trials of War" challenge series. Warner Bros. says your skills will be put to the test as you square off against Sauron's forces in these challenge modes, which also let you post scores to a leaderboard to compete with friends. Also included with the Shadow of Mordor DLC pass are new story missions that promise "hours" of gameplay. One is called Lord of the Hunt (you'll hunt wild beasts in Mordor), while the other is called The Bright Lord. In this mission, you will play as Celebrimbor (the forger of the Rings of Power) as you battle against Sauron and his forces. In addition, the Shadow of Mordor DLC pass includes "access to future content." This will include rune, skins, and "additional future add-on content." Warner Bros. did not announce pricing details for the Shadow of Mordor DLC pass or any of the content included with it if you want to buy expansions individually. Historically, these types of passes are offered from $20-$50 and represent a savings over buying the content separately. "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."

BruceVC Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 SJWs are already writing epistles on tumblr about her being a weak damsel-in-distress and Templar pawn. Nonetheless this is progress, well done Ubisoft for realizing the importance of fair gender representation in your games "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. sorophx Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Probably because of all the SJW going around. what's so bad about having female characters as protagonists? if it was up to me, all games would have female heroines 1 Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Malcador Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Probably because of all the SJW going around.what's so bad about having female characters as protagonists? if it was up to me, all games would have female heroines Well, when it's done as a result of foot stamping by those that see this an actual "social justice" issue and hand wringing game "journalists" lecturing it's a bit eye-roll inducing, as opposed to just being done by itself. And it looks good to people like Bruce, so good PR there. 2 Why has elegance found so little following? And it looks good to people like Bruce, so good PR there. I suppose the salient question we need to ask is '" would Ubisoft have been so concerned about gender representation if there wasn't such a furore in the first place around the lack of fair gender representation in there games" ? So I see the foot stamping as having a positive outcome, wouldn't you agree? Malcador Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Ah, probably not gaming related really, but there's some hilarious drama on with regards to Zoe Quinn (the Depression Quest person), even better as Walker and Fish are on the warpath for her A female PC in AC is good I suppose, I won't play the game but plenty seem to have an issue for that. But then I suppose the PC won't be the "right" kind of one. Why has elegance found so little following? HoonDing Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 The real question is, would the French prettyboy have saved Templar girl if she were fat and ugly? I think that warrants a tumblr entry. 4 The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Labadal Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) Probably because of all the SJW going around. what's so bad about having female characters as protagonists? if it was up to me, all games would have female heroines I welcome more female protagonists in games, heck, I am trying a female wizard in Pillars of Eternity. But I only want them in there if that's what the developer intended. I don't want a female protagonist just because someone demands it. I remember the complaints about Alpha Protocol. I have also read complaints about The Witcher, even if those games are based on an established character from the books. Remember Me had a good female protagonist. Kreia is one of my favorite characters in video games. Do them right and because you want them in your games and I will be happy. Ubisoft probably already had intentions for a female character in Unity, hell, there was a game with a female assassin already. Edited August 19, 2014 by Labadal 2
