Where to find money for this? Torment is already eating me up.

Pledged. Then again, I was getting the game even if it was funded in any other way.

Ehhh... Haven't played Divine Divinity, have been playing Divinity II since it was on sale for $2.00 on GOG.com, and while it has its good points, it's pretty mediocre overall.

graphically I dig it. Don't remember really enjoying Divine Divinity and never played the others though. Will take a look when it goes on sale after release.

But Divinity II has action combat mechanics, whereas Original sin is tactical and turn based. I also gave up on DKS after the first town because having rolled a mage I just remember spamming fireball and magic missile while jumping and rolling (Garalt-style). Got old real quick and mana regen time was absurd. But Sven have done lots of interviews where they pretty much said they had to make an action game with DKS and their fans liked the game "in spite of the combat". This time they're doing what think their fans want, rather than what the suits think will sell the most.

Just watching videos of this title over the past few months has really got me excited for it because the gameplay seems fun, environment seems interactive and handcrafted, idea of MP within the game is hopefully implemented well, and they have a pretty good track record as far as making games.  The editor seems like it could have a lot of community contributions as well.

Been looking forward to this one for a while

I like what I've seen of this so far, and I really enjoyed Divine Divinity; Divinity II much less so. If they can recapture that original feel then it's a definite buy for me.

Hmm i'll see where i stand in 25 days but i'm sure i can give them $25 at least .

Et tu, Lariane?

Pledged $65 just to get Drag-On Dragoon Commander for free.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

Put in 25 for now, might go up to 40 if I can convince my wife that turn based is something that looks appealing. Would have bought it on release anyway, so why not.

Thinking the same. Not sure how my wife will like turn based but I'll see how it goes

Swen Vincke and David Walgrave made me giggle a lot, so they get +4. Also, pumpkin as a helmet! I'm in for $35  *clicks Back This Project button* **

--I'm in the same place as Spider...I'd bump it up if I thought hubby would play with me, but I think that's very unlikely in my case.

**...I was planning on buying this game already, too, but now I get a soundtrack and more importantly, a Kickstarter Potion!

Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.

I was only going to go for $35, but an extra $5 for another copy seemed like a steal.

Did a bit of paid overtime yesterday which neatly covers the $65(+shipping) boxed tier. Done. Shame there's really not much in the way of swag to make the $100 tiers appealing. Ah well, must remember to email the Shadowrun guys this week to up my pledge to them anyway.

I only played the first (which was enjoyable).

I'm a bit surprised it's getting anything but an indifferent reaction haha.  Were the subsequent ones more enjoyable?  Or am I just too hard on the original?!

My feeling is that the support is based more on what they're specifically promising for this instalment - the turn based combat, higher degree of roleplaying, the co-op play, the return to an isometric view, etc - rather than what was in the prior games. Not that I speak for everyone, of course.

Divine Divinity didn't have turn based combat, the later installments were pretty uninteresting to me at least. I don't see how this is a return to the roots.

Old 3d games really show their age and are often unplayable. The Isometric 2,5 D like the infinity engine with pre rendered sprites are still playable so that's a plus at least.

greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER.

That is all.

Divinity 2 was great fun. Not fantastic mechanics by any means, but fun and with the spirit in the right place. Didn't play the first one though.

I'm the opposite ... played only Divine Divinity, which I liked quite a bit. This new one seems like it has some of the qualities I liked about that one, plus all kinds of new features that make it even better. Just seems like my kind of game.

To be fair I didn't look at the kickstarter page haha.

Does look interesting in a 5 second glance, though money is tight so I suspect I won't be contributing.  The coop sounds interesting though and will likely be the catalyst for me.

I'll have to see how much I can contribute. Timing seems a bit off given there are two other big RPG kickstarters running concurrently. Supposedly they got a bit gazumped, but they probably should have waited the extra couple of weeks.

They've also done a good job of engaging with relevant communities ('Codex, RPGWatch etc), and have a pretty good reputation- rather similarly to Brian Fargo- in terms of populist stuff like slagging off publishers.
