 Though its more like a tradition of incompetence and never ending excuses, where the mighty Russian always being raped, the Russian soldier is expandable and victories come by brute force. Like they were raped in the winter war, in ww2(thanks to external help they managed to keep it from becoming a route and eventual turning the tides), in Afghanistan and that shameful preformance in Chechnya.

Interesting, because I thought that you had a little nationalistic streak, grasping at straws since the discussion over equipment and better training. Implying that Russian army is better because its built on conscript army, that USA/UK armies aren't professional, immoral and only good against small backward 'Stans'(even though coalition invasion of Iraq was a perfect contrast to yours shame in Chechnya).

 

So no propaganda, at best little hyperbole for your sake. I intentionally, used your example of Israel to get my point across, without you being distracted by your passion to the subject. I assure you that many Israelis would fill and assume as you do after reading that: for the most of the war Israel had more people fighting force, more weapons, the initiative and their victory was due to large part because the arabs had no unified command, poor planing and separate goals and few other things about British intelligence estimate etc.. However, the intent is not to diminish their accomplishments, I think it was an amazing victory, regardless the point that I was making is that "every country has an ethos", its purpose is not historical details, but to inspire people, in their case its the story of the little guy who stood against the bigger guy and won.

 

Now, do you see where I was going with this concerning Russian Ethos about its soldiers spirit and its army strength? btw its not really unique, many nationalistic, "closed", third world country in your vicinity, has similar notions though in your case the sacrifice during the great patriotic war gave wings to its own myth.

Ah yes, oby demonstrates his ignorance once more. A Google search would tell you that Finn Wigforss was a Norwegian volunteer serving in the 5th SS Panzer Division Wiking, which saw heavy action on the Eastern Front. Furthermore, the uniforms are a pretty close match to real ones as far as I can see. But, of course, a page without incessant Soviet propaganda and revisionism wouldn't be complete, eh obs?

 

Note: And before you start complaining, note that no one disagreed that it wasn't propaganda. Only to you can that seem factual and accurate. To us, it's simply an interesting example of front art.

On other pic's situation is not better, Soviets wear on them "something" looks like beggars dress, but not Soviet uniform.

You're clinging to some misguided notion that he is imaginary because he got the details wrong. No one in this thread ever treated his work as factual, objective, or photorealistic. The ape-headed Soviets are enough, especially when they're juxtaposed with Nordic ubermenschen.

 

The only person claiming Wingforss' work might not be propaganda is you, in order to push some kind of weird agenda.
