DarthAdamRG Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) In the form of Elven Corsairs or Dwarven Seafarers, a faction, relevant to the game, I say why not!, but no blackbeard wannabe's or Cap'n Jack Sparrow's. Edited September 20, 2012 by DarthAdamRG
cyberarmy Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Hell yes! Nothing is true, everything is permited.
Flouride Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Yes, if it fits the setting. If not, then no. Not that I care a lot if they are missing either 1 Hate the living, love the dead.
Theobeau Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Voting yes because by 3 y.o. loves pirates. Seriously if done right etc.... - Project Eternity, Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera; quality cRPGs are back !
OldRPG'sAreGood Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 It depends on the setting. If there's a great amount of sea trade, there'd naturally be pirates. But then again, ships could simply be too well protected and sea routes effectively guarded. So, yeah, it depends on the setting, as I don't really want to see pirates but neither do I mind them if it fits in the setting. Dude, I can see my own soul.....
mkreku Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Ultima 4 had the best pirates in any game so far. You battled them on their (or your) boat, and if you won, you got their ship. After playing the game for a while, there were ships everywhere, and I used them to build bridges between the mainland and some islands (long rows of ships parked next to each other). It was great. I would love more pirates. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
dlux Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 AND another yes/no poll. lol I don't care if there are any in the game.
Muzrub333 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I'd prefer Viking Kittens, or maybe sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their heads.
Naril Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Yaaaarrr!!! (yes). preferably polymorphed into kitten form. Edited September 20, 2012 by Naril
Andre Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Why's everyone against the idea of the cliché pirate, yarr? Originality isn't always good I find. What I would like to see is having a ship and having ship-related quests. Kinda like a moving player haven, would be interesting.
Jaesun Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Voting yes since Josh confirmed the world has ship travel. While it is still very dangerous. Some of my Youtube Classic Roland MT-32 Video Game Music videos | My Music | My Photography
Playgu Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 What a silly question! The answer shall be: Yarrrrrr!!
Auxilius Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Of course. And make the pirate leader the toughest mofo in the game. Brownie points to those who understand.
molarBear Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 yes but not of human, elf, dwarf race "if everyone is dead then why don't i remember dying?" —a clueless sod to a dustman "if we're all alive then why don't i remember being born?" —the dustman's response
Stormcaller Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 No, not stereotypical "arrr" pirates. Sea bandits, sure.
Entropious Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I chose "No" since what probably is meant here are 17th century "Pirates of the Carribeans" types of pirates. Do you know about those Somalian pirates? Actually, the general picture throughout the Middle Ages was very similar, with most of the worst pirates on European and African waters being Muslim, both white and black. So if piracy was to be somehow included, I'd opt for this profile.
