Haha, true true. Well, the devs announced it on the forums last night because they said their community would know first. An alright day, still three weeks away, plus 2 days after Borderlands 2. Ugh.

Judging by it's boards, the news came out of NOWHERE and caught the developers by surprise too. They'd been still doing those "Well, in the future of the game we're planning to do this".

I get the feeling it was more of a Korean business man going "Ok, we've got these projects, we need to raise profits... and these four have the lowest profit margin/are loosing money KILL DEM!"

Torchlight 2 out Sept. 20th, finally. As reported on their forums by the deva.

Just squeaking by as a (US) summer release.

I'm liking the graphical look of Divinity:Original Sin quite a bit. Crossing fingers for the gameplay...

I completely forgot about CoH, surprised it lasted this long (that and FFXI).

FFXI is most profitable FF game for Sqaure Enix ever...

FFXI used to be an amazing game, the last bastion for hardcore players. too bad the devs have ruined it.

Of course it is, they recouped development costs long ago and I'd imagine a not too big percentage of the revenue they bring in from subscriptions goes towards bandwidth and a team to maintain the game and add content from time to time (since the game p. dated I imagine the team not being very big).

I played it ~ '03-04 when I was in middle school. I liked it then but remember the server economy being screwed up (hugely inflated AH prices for example), not that since the game was modeled after EQ in many ways (like low drop rates on pretty much anything worth selling) helped either.

Well then again, the economy of COH was basically worthless because most of everything you earned was from hamidon and effectively useless overall (enhancments that you bought from the in game stores were what most people rocked until Invention appeared)

yeah, Christmas of 2003, that's when all the RMTs (real money traders) decided to have discounts on Gil, and would sell it at half price. the game was flooded with excess money => inflation. it took 2 years for the market to recover

Not seeing why the keyboard and mouse not changing that much is a bad thing, it works well enough.
