April 11, 201213 yr Think this deserves its own thread. From Linkedin Past Lead Creative Designer at Obsidian Entertainment Lead Writer / Quest Developer at Zenimax Online Studios Lead Creative Designer at Obsidian Entertainment I truly think that Ziets surpassed even Avellone in some areas regarding video game writing. It's like a dream-team split apart and I really hope that Ziets lands a job in a team that caters to his talents. (I even more hope that I'm completly wrong and he just changed positions or something like that, damnit. Though it seems unlikely as it just fits too well.) Edited April 11, 201213 yr by C2B
April 11, 201213 yr Maybe he's now at Zenimax Online again? IIRC Chris L'Etoile is there too. I noticed recently in the Dungeon Siege 3 forcum section that George Ziets was no longer marked as Obsidian developer, but thought it was a forum issue... The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
April 11, 201213 yr I loved his work in MotB (probably my favorite Obsidian game, tbh) and DS3. Gotta say that I didn't have much interest in DS but his lore entries actually made me want to learn more about the DS universe. If he's not with Obsidian anymore...so sad to see him go.
April 11, 201213 yr Author "Past". Mmmmh, maybe he just got a new position. Unlikely though as he hasn't adjusted a new title but removed the old. Also what virumor said about his forum account.
April 11, 201213 yr Author This is true. I am no longer with Obsidian... All the best and the fans miss you. Will closly watch everything you do in the future.
April 12, 201213 yr I think "Crap" would be the best and most eloquent way to demonstrate my feelings at this moment. That's sad, I loved your work on MotB. Besides, Obsidian always felt like the best company to allow writers to shine. I hope your next position will permit you to make good use of your excellent writing.
April 12, 201213 yr Dammit, not the kinda news I want to see first thing after I woke up :/ Hate the living, love the dead.
April 12, 201213 yr This just goes to show you all what I have been saying for sometime now. If you trust person whose last name is shorter than their first first name, all you're going to get is heartache. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
April 12, 201213 yr That's a real bummer :/ Best of luck George! Hopefully we'll get to see you do awesome stuff at another studio.
April 12, 201213 yr My worst fears have been confirmed. Wherever you land, I hope we'll get to see another great rpg from you.

If you trust person whose last name is shorter than their first first name, all you're going to get is heartache. I wish you'd told me this a couple of years ago, it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Also, my best wishes on all future endeavours. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? April 12, 201213 yr I think I'll actually swing by. I've always thought you were ridiculously talented in video game storytelling, you bastard! lol You swine! Karate rap. hahaha Oh well, you got me. Still, good luck in the future, no matter where you end up. I think you worked on.... LotRO or one of the MMORPG titles. I don't know if that's where you go, but you'll undoubtedly do a good job no matter where it it is. April 12, 201213 yr Best of luck George, really enjoyed the work you put down in MotB and DS3! Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0

April 12, 201213 yr Where's George's Obsidian VIP tag that all former employees get when they leave?! "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
April 12, 201213 yr Seems like Obsidian really has trouble establishing a stable working environment. Maybe it's better for them to become super-small like inXile and only make Kickstarter games now, since it seems more games are getting canceled than released. Rain makes everything better.
April 12, 201213 yr Sigh. I is sad. Good luck on future endeavors. Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram. One day I suppose a game may inspire me to finally upgrade. Maybe.
April 12, 201213 yr Reading this made me sad. I always thought Obsidian was a perfect match for him. I hope to see more projects from you in the future.
