I don't know about the WH40K rpg. If its story was planned for an MMO it already sucks in advance as a single player experience.

 

On the other hand, maybe it all works out.

WH, or 40K, just suck as an IP. They should bury that nonsense for good and better concentrate on good stuff. I still want that Homeworld 3.

What's funny is today, just for fun, I powered up a CoD MW game. Wow...as far as shooters go, that blew ME3 out of the water and MW 3 came out before ME3 and still rocks all over it.

 

Yeah...ME3 is an RPG...cause if it were a shooter it is epic fail.

 

I like it as an RPG...

 

Then again, people say I'm one of those who are part of the stupid masses instead of some of the elite RPG artiests here. Sometimes it's good to be able to play CoD though. I completely like the ME series as they are, and view them as RPGs. As RPGs they are just as fun as CoD...but not ME3 MP...that actually is pretty bad in comparison after I fired up MW.

 

 

I'd probably never lasted at ME series if it was pure shooter - I'm kinda hopeless with them.

Yeah, it's quite surprising.

Haven't liked any of the latest warhammer games. Maybe they will go more traditional out of desparation. Can't hurt anyway.

DoW2 Retribution was p.cool, though Chaos Rising was the better one gameplay wise.

They completely ruined it by making it a squad based combat game with an RTS viewport. I understand that there are people out there who like that sort of thing, there are people who love blue cheese, but recent events would suggest that they are not a majority.

I don't necessarily think the DOW2 change is responsible for THQ's troubles. I enjoyed both games, was fun to customize the squad and so on, loss of base building wasn't that big a deal.

 

That Takedown project looks interesting, world needs more 'tactical' shooters in any case.

If MS is that dumb and goes down the Ubisoft road, I predict Sony will have it easy. Unless they do the same dumb thing.

The whole anti-used games rumors suggest that both consoles will feature some kind of online checks.

I just don't understand how MS hopes to implement it - they sell thousands of consoles in countries that are not supported via Live.

Maybe those rumors are for dev-kits only?

I can see that they want to bind your game to an PSN/Live account to curb used games, but always-online?
