I wish I could get the bonus materials for BG... I already have like 3 copies of the game already :)

Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life

Also, all is forgiven.

Meh. Finished that game 8 years ago and have no intention to revisit it.

Also: IE looks ugly.

Blasphemy!!

How can you say that Torment looks ugly with Widescreen patch?

It looks gorgeous!

No it doesn't. 3D has now surpassed 2D by a great deal. Please stop this nostalgia bs.

Not really. Neither technology is superior only the artistic capabilities of the developers are what counts.

Planescape Torment had high quality artwork which looks nice with widescreen patches. Dragon Age for example - doesn't. It looks randomly generated 90% of the time. Its between passable and ugly.

So nothing has been "surpassed" because the essential quality - design - is a constant not dependent on technology but on talent. And its either good or bad.

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.

It's a novel on wheels. You should be too busy reading the game to notice the graphics.

"When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.

As I said, I played them all. I want something new and fresh instead. Any recommendations, dear Obsidian comrades?

Asking that in a thread about Good Old Games?

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Ug, thats what Im afraid of. Ill probably buy it "just to have it", and see what all the hubbub was about from you guys.

There are still people here who haven't played Torment? It's compulsory playing material, heathen!

Knock yourself out.

EDIT: Would be nice if they added NOLF next...

They should add Drakan: Order of the Flame & Tomb Raider: the Last Revelation + Chronicles. My discs are scratched.

Also, Rune & Heavy Metal FAKK 2. Those games are a ********* to run on Vista.

This is nice and all, but my original copy from 10 years ago is still going strong.

The wrench is your friend. :bat:

I guess this is less about us and more about the public at large being able to play it now and in the forseeable future(hopefully). GOG is kind of like the PC game museum.

At least GAF seems pretty enthusiastic about it >_<

What about, one of the best games ever?

my copy from 10 years ago works just fine, but doesnt it have a disc check? i'd pay 10$ just to get rid of that so i dont have to lug discs around with my laptop if i wanted some torment or bg on the go

No disc check on GOG games.

Oh, thats definately the vibe I get from almost everyone. Its just that certain comments weigh more, like Gromnir calling it "navel gazing", which is the worst possible reading for me.
