Nightshape Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Tale is prone to opening wrong doors. But he should have been the last to die nontheless. Cowardice is in his nature. You were the first to attempt an escape, I think its poor form the game wouldn't let me retreat. I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!
Nightshape Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 So I've looked at the team mechanics and changed a few things around in order to aid this party of obsidianites in their quest for death by idiot gamer. Monte Carlo stays the same. The party alignment was Lawful Neutral, but I've since changed it to True Neutral to allow for a more interesting dynamic. Pidesco, has changed LN Fighter, and is now a NG Rogue. To later be DC'd with a Dex Fighter. Visceris, becomes Killian, a NG Halfling Rogue, later to be dual classed with Wizard. Kaftan Barlast, stays pretty much the same, but has had an alignment change to Neutral Evil. And Magical Volo, stays as a Cleric, but become NE I think dynamic should give them a fighting chance I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!
Oner Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I think dynamic should give them a fighting chance As long as they still die in the end... ..Uhhh... did I say that out loud? sorophx Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 ghm, I've managed to get the game running (I think), so I'm gonna try to beat it in the next couple of weeks. Night, are you planning on finishing this LP? if not, I could try and take over. I'll be testing the game for the next couple of days, check if the new Circle Of Eight pack is stable and whatnot. also, can't really get used to the combat system. anyway, if you're done with it, I'll try to give this thread a new life Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. Then getting a new job etc... I'd actually forgotten all about this. I felt ToEE Ironman was pretty damn hardcore. I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.Down and out on the Solomani RimNow the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!
Tigranes Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Oh yes, it'd be nice if we keep the LP spirit going. I'm entering a pretty relaxed period now (touch wood), so I might do another LP... but I don't have TOEE, so can't take up this one. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) ok, let's see what I can do I won't be playing Ironman, because Co8 says not to. actually, I already rolled the whole party, so I can show them off I didn't want to repeat Night's party, and I didn't want to make you all vote again, so I took the liberty of picking the first team myself. lo and behold. EDIT: gah, I wanted to wait 'til we were on the next page. but I see, that we are still 2 posts away from that, so I'll do it here. by the way, is there a limit on the number of symbols allowed in a post? sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 the first spot was reserved for Volo, but I couldn't figure out how to make a necromancer so I figured Volo would have to wait 'til the party'd lost someone. and then I recalled some of the earlier fights and realized I have no chances of getting through them without some kind of a tank. please welcome (imagine a boxing-match-type announcer, stretching the vowels in the names): Pidesco a neutral/good human fighter Esco is originally from the world of Athas, nobody knows, how she wound up in Greyhawk. well, the point is, she doesn't really speak common (or whatever language they speak in Greyhawk). so we'll not be hearing much from her next stop, the leader of the band: Lady Crimson a neutral/good dwarven cleric. I picked a dwarf for 2 reasons. first, for the constitution increase. second, because of C's New Vegas character's appearance (hence the avatar). somehow it struck me as a dwarf, if projected onto a fantasy setting C is of a noble origin (naturally), she comes from a long line of knights, she'd undergone the training since she was very young, she was knighted but due to her nature (she's always been drawn to broken down and miserable people), she decided to change her career and become a god's person. she brings justice to the world in the name of Pelor. time to move to the certified tunnel-fighter, the one and only: Monte Carlo a lawful/neutral elven rogue. I made him an elf to keep the party racially diverse. and I remember that he was a thief/fighter in Tig's IWD LP. so, you know, why fix something that isn't broken. Monte's background is a mystery to everybody in the party. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but there's a plot twist coming up. and since we already mentioned him, please welcome the party's heavy artillery: Tigranes a lawful/neutral sorcerer. it's my favorite class from the 3.5 edition, I think it suites Tig perfectly. I also made him a gnome, to have a nice height progression in the party. I like it when things are nice. consequently, Tig's role in the band is to sustain the balance, to keep emotions at bay, he's gonna be the one nice person in the party Tigranes, being very intelligent and charismatic, can resolve any conflict and find an exit out of the most difficult situations. if C is the party's heart, Tig's the reason of the band, helping Lady Crimson keep the team working. her authority is unquestionable. as for the party's muscle... you have probably noticed the trend, so far the party has been girls-only. I apologize to those, whose names I've used to create female characters without making sure it was alright with them first. I wanted to spice up the party, please indulge me in this little weakness (or don't). this is also the reason for the last addition to our band of amazons. Gromnir seriously, was there ever doubt in your mind? a chaotic/neutral half-orc. a machine. I'm not sure I even need to say anything. and I know what you're thinking, this avatar doesn't suit him at all. but I have another two Gromnirs waiting, with higher stats and other, fancier avatars. I want to show how Grommy grows throughout the story so there. I hope I can make this thread at least a little amusing. I've never tried writing a Let's Play before. I can only hope it doesn't turn out boring, or even worse, doesn't turn out anything at all. Anyway, there are a few things that should be mentioned. first, since Grommy is pretty much immortal, he's a permanent fixture in this party. everyone else is subject for replacement if they are to die. also, as of now I'm taking bets on who of the gals will fall for Grommy first. because if Bio has taught us anything, it's that we can't have a fantasy campaign without some wicked romance. besides, he *is* a Bhaal-spawn! who can resist? but really, this game demands some serious getting used to. the interface is horrendous, especially in combat, the radial menu is atrocious. I can't get past the first instance with the spiders in the garden, keep getting my ass handed to me... well, I guess this will make for an interesting experience. but the next update is probably gonna appear on the weekend at the very best. that means we can try and change something, if you guys REALLY want to. so, yeah, let's play Temple of Elemental Evil! sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 any objections or advice on how I rolled the characters? it's been a long time since I tried playing a D&D game. C's WIS is probably a little low, should I reroll? Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. HoonDing Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Worst. Avatars. Ever. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 (edited) sorry, that's the only thing I'm not changing ooooh, seems I'll have to reroll after all I need 2 Chaotic Good characters for the two swords (Fragarach and Scather). so, if anyone wants anything changed, let me know, might as well remake the whole party Edited January 11, 2011 by sorophx Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 ahaha does this mean you're perfectly satisfied with your role in the party? by the way, I don't think there's a good neverwinter nights-hordes of underdark screenshot let's play. maybe you'd be willing to do it? Tigranes Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I still have my nwn/hotu I think, but I'm actually not a big fan of HOTU. I'm still mulling it over... I'm always satisfied with any opportunity for some friendly fire fireballs. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
sorophx Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 you could start with the original campaign and think about HOTU later I loved HOTU by the way, what about it you don't like? Tigranes Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Are you serious? Play the NWN1 vanilla OC? I'd rather play with my cat, that **** is so bad it is offensive. HOTU was a good campaign and SOU wasn't bad either - I just don't think it's worth going back to when combined with NWN1, which is more cumbersome to play than, say, the Infinity Engine. Kind of similar to how I'd have played NWN2/motb/soz more if it was on a different engine. I was hoping I could sucker you into it, can't stand the game myself and I had very bad experiences with it, but I'd love to see someone else do it Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. sorophx Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'm gonna reroll you today, so I can change that. and your class, if you want to Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. I was hoping I could sucker you into it, can't stand the game myself and I had very bad experiences with it, but I'd love to see someone else do it I'd do it, but only with a cleric or druid. Also, HotU is pretty bad. 2/3 of the game is a watered down version of BG2 and the rest consists of literally following a breadcrumb trail on the ground, solving cringe-worthy puzzles and mowing down hordes of baalors (granted though, at least baalors are better than epic level gnolls). The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
sorophx Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'd do it, but only with a cleric or druid. I'm thinking of dual-boxing through the OC and making a let's play out of it. that is, if NWN can be played over LAN (the same copy). HoonDing Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I see you've decided to go through with the NWN LP. Would there be an interest here for a Drakensang: River of TIme LP? Almost nobody is going to play this game anyways, and I was planning on doing another playthrough. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
sorophx Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'd be interested. Walsingham said: I was struggling to understand ths until I noticed you are from Finland. And having been educated solely by mkreku in this respect I am convinced that Finland essentially IS the wh40k universe.
Tigranes Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I'd love to see one actually, I'm curious about ROT and might even get it if it looks fun.
