"Valve has sent along a press release confirming Steamworks integration in the PS3 version -- the only console version featuring that functionality, actually -- providing the game with "auto updates, community features, downloadable content, and more.""

That with the liquid looks quite clever. I hope Valve sticks to it's original idea of using narrative without any cutscenes in Portal 2.

I'm hoping this means much more variety in puzzles.

Portal almost felt like a tech demo at times... this can be the real deal.

No kidding. The chick looks almost exactly like the one from Heavenly Sword.

Looks pretty cool, though.

Nariko was modeled after the voice actress and Fringe star Anna Torv. Might be the same case here?

Valve's not actually big on cutscenes in general, HL2 didn't have any either.

Depends on your definition of a cutscene. I think just standing there for five minutes while the Vances have a heart to heart and then you watch a cat fight counts .

Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Portal kinda reminds me a bit of System Shock. You have GladOS/Shodan who wants to kill you and no other living NPCs are inbetween for a little chit chat. It creates a special relationship with your antagonist and I love it. We need more games of that kind.

Space Combat. In Halo. This is just too good to be true, maybe their next game is going to be based on this sort of gameplay entirely. I'm even hoping this'll be a revival of the whole space sim genre.

@Morgoth: Not to mention GlaDOS is reaching SHODAN levels of creepiness.

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Anyone else thinks Enslaved: Odyssey to the West looks kinda sweet? Click

But then again it's from the same guys that made the mediocre Heavenly Sword.

No, I also think it looks awesome.. but I don't really know why. It just tickles me in the right way.

Oh, and it's also the commercial that plays before each and every video on Eurogamer TV for me.. kind of sick of it now.

Please note I'm not E3/game news expert....but does it feel to anyone else that the (big name) video game industry has a serious case of sequel-itis?

Not that that's inherently a bad thing, or something....but I do find it amusing. The way it goes...

No, it's not just you. I think in current IGN "best of show" crap there's 3 new IPs (Child of Eden, Rage and Epic Mickey) out something like 30 nominees.

Let's play Alpha Protocol

It comes down to taking the control away from the player. Not that everyone wanted to watch the Vance heart to heart, but there is a difference.

It's been happening for a while now, especially after Activision entered the scene in a big way.

But it's not just the publishers, just look at all the people begging for a Alpha Protocol 2. People are also into franchises in a big way.

The problem with new IP's is technology and exposure, its hard to get any exposure at all unless you have alot of marketing bucks... Usually its the first iteration of the technology aswell, so its alot more effort to create something totally new.

Plus, when the cow wants milking, milk it... *cough* CoD *cough*.

I came up with Crate 3.0 technology.

Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.
