smitty1984 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I plan being aggressive in all my dialogue choices will that work playing aggressive through the whole game, or will i have to act differently with other characters. I would also like to know how you plan on playing your character.
WorstUsernameEver Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 According to the developers theoretically every choice is viable, though of course, I imagine that being aggresive with every character will mean that some potential allies will end up trying to kill you. As for my planned playthrough, I'd like to fiddle with the game a bit before deciding but I'm tempted by a stealthy/almost pacifist (meaning I'd try to go through a level without alerting anyone/just using tranquilizers) playthrough. Of course, if some jerk REALLY deserves to be killed.. eh..

Raithe Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Offhand, I think my first play through will probably be a mish-mash of choices... I'll play the dialogue system a bit like a a covert operative figuring the best way to "connect" with the people I judge important.... as in research them, read their dossiers and figure out how best to manipulate them to the benefit of the mission... Skillwise, I won't really know until I actually get hold of the game and play the start up and see how it handles and what really appeals to me.. but from what I've seen in the assorted trailers and intervies, I can be fairly definite in putting a lot of points in Stealth.. as for the rest.. I'm inclined to try a bit of martial arts, pistols, assault rifles, and maybe a bit of tech aptitude.. but I can't judge to what extent until I have it installed in front of me "Cuius testiculos habeas, habeas cardia et cerebellum."
kirottu Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I plan to play awesomely. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

smitty1984 Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 I plan to play awesomely. awesomely stealthy or what.
Enoch Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Thought experiment: Lockstep Moodswing Thorton-- A strict rotation of stance choices. Pick one to start with, and, at each subsequent decision point, use the next one around the circle from the option most recently used. Repeat until endgame. Seriously, though, on a first playthrough, my main goal is going to be to get as much information as possible before making decisions. Get tight with the info brokers, buy dossiers, and generally keep people alive to keep options open until I have a fuller understanding of where everybody stands. This probably pairs best with a stealth-based inconspicuous approach to mission tactics.

WorstUsernameEver Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 As for stances I guess I'll just try to be as manipulative as possible with third parties and enemies and strictly professional with handlers/allies (I'll probably end up without having romanced a lady ).
Enoch Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 (I'll probably end up without having romanced a lady ). This is also a goal of mine.

Starwars Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I think my first playthrough will mostly be going for the professional path with occasional dips into suave (and maybe aggressive some time). The skills I plan to focus on are pistols, stealth and the one that lets you hack and all that (technical aptitude?). I'll try to play as quietly as possible. Not necessarily going for no kills, but trying to do things professionally and quiet. If some dude needs to be shut up permanently, then so be it. smitty1984 Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Im thinking of playing suave now instead of aggressive unless im talking to a dude then ill be aggressive.
Flouride Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I think I'll go with stealth and try not to kill everyone I see Hate the living, love the dead.
Orogun01 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I plan to play as throughly as possible, the same way one plays with a thousand dollar hooker: all night long. Because she is worth it. I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
Tigranes Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 No romances (ugh), first time I'll probably just play without a set plan in mind and see where the game takes me, let the dialogue system do its thing. In terms of combat, stealth. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I will play this game the manliest way possible. Basically I'll be looking for the best one-liners and sporting a kickass beard. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Gorth Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 James Bond is the only one of the three 'B's I know Probably as good a starting point as any. Kill a few bosses, blow up their bases and sail towards the sunset on a raft with the current Bond girl “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Morgoth Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Stealth is usually so more fun than playing Rambo. Rain makes everything better.
macrocarl Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Suave ninja! I probably won't kill everyone. But we'll see......... I always plan on playing a murderous type but end up pure sugar. Oh and romance every chick I can get my suave ninja hands on. Edited April 30, 2010 by macrocarl

It's probably because you think "yeah, I'll try evil this time" and then as you play most games, the "evil" choices are usually really psychotic stupid choices rather then evil so you end up not using them.......
