Guard Dog
to get welfare you need to prove you're actively jobseeking. Actually thats unemployment compensation you are thinking of. taks
i don't see how they're any less free. money isn't everything. oh my god, you're such a hypocrite. maybe you just don't understand the concept of theft? and, um, for the record, the definition of freedom does not require that you view money as important, only the person from whom it is being taken. if that weren't true, then what's to stop some arbitrary government ruling from labeling anything else as "not everything," and simply taking it away from you? besides, they don't have to pay for education or health care either. ??? they pay more for their "free" education and health care than you do. we've got plenty of poor people don't worry smiley? that's a good thing? but wait a minute, isn't socialism supposed to get rid of poor people? taks Edited December 21, 2009 by taks comrade taks... just because. taks
what's so funny, lare, is that ideologues such as you always expose your outright ignorance of even the simplest of concepts simply by posting what you believe. you did the same thing in the GW thread and you do it again here. you expose yourself, almost in comedic fashion. do you really walk through life with your head in such a cloud? it is amazing, but true, ignorance must be bliss. taks Edited December 21, 2009 by taks comrade taks... just because. lord of flies
Endemic poverty has been sustained via targeted government action and inaction. Don't try any equivocation bull**** on me; yes, it's possible for someone in very bad conditions to make a good life for themselves in the capitalist system. It is, however, much, much less likely, and since large groups closely conform to statistics...Boo ****ing hoo. Aye, that brought a tear to me eye, it did. I think I'm starting to see a pattern in your posts. You simply cannot deal with the fact that the world is fundamentally harsh and unjust. Maybe that's why you get a boner when you go on about all those mad totalitarian state utopies? Sorry, I'm not buying whatever it is you're selling... your antics are pretty amusing, though. Of course the world is unjust. Does that mean that you should just act like a **** and piss on the poor? Based on this post, I have to assume that it does. I've always thought it slight insane that people in Scandinavian countries get welfare for free (i.e. don't have to prove they are job seeking). Unemployment compensation as Guard Dog calls it makes a hell of a lot more sense. But overall I agree with you strongly.

Killian Kalthorne
I think the main reason it works in Finland as it does is because they have a small population in comparison to the US. If Finland had the same bloated population and same bloated government it wouldn't as efficient. Trenitay
That's why we need to have more power for state government and less at the federal level. Killian Kalthorne
The problem with having the State governments having more power is that our country becomes fragmented when it comes to policies even though we suppose to be the same nation. Personally, I think we should break up the United States into smaller countries.
