Sand was so awesome.
Judge: And you, Sand? Anything more you wish to add that you did not say in the first three hours?

Sand: Only that the dress the ambassador is wearing is clearly out of fashion, a blatant attempt to distract the court from the matter at hand, and is more appropriate for a Docks prostitute than a diplomatic envoy. Thank you.

Anyone have the voiced link handy?

The grievances in that one forum post make me laugh my ass off.

Especially the "ZOMG this was in KOTOR." The funny thing is that both KOTOR and NWN actually use the same engine.

Yeah, the OC was as bad as Bioware gets.. never really understood what happened, they must have had some problems during development.

There were a couple of fun side quests, and that's about it.

They used only the "public" modding tools, I think that's what happened.

" The funny thing is that both KOTOR and NWN actually use the same engine."

Only half true. KOTOR uses a completely twisted version of the Aurora. Not really the same engine. Just looking at the two games should tell you that. they look, feel, and play completely difference despite KOTOR having extremely dumbed down D&D character system.

P.S. NWN > KOTOR

No contest.

DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

Alien Swarm is built on the same engine as Unreal Tournament 2k4, even though they look, feel, and play completely different.

Why did you PS this? No one was discussing it. Unless you're just trying to start an internet pissing match.

The example that always comes to mind for me is Civilization 4, built on Gamebryo. You know, that engine that Bethesda used for Oblivion?

Really? Wow. And to think we all settled for a house when we should have been demanding a nation.

He had legit criticism.

Damn.

This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Damn.

Not only that, but considering his standards he didn't even make the game sound that bad.

I know I'm a massive Obsidz fanboi, but that all sounded good to me. The main criticism seemed to be

1. He hates being forced to live with the consequences of over-specialising.

2. He hates being a bit thick and not being able to follow the plot. To which I respond: YOU ARE GETTING OLD, MATE. LIVE WITH IT.

tarna's dead; processing... complete. Disappointed by Universe. RIP Hades/Sand/etc. Here's hoping your next alt has a harp.

He's right that the overarching plot is unoriginal and the subplots are difficult to follow in just one playthrough.

Whether that's bad or good depends on who plays the game, and I think in the end, was a conscious decision on Obsidian's part.

... buggy AI on the other hand wasn't

Completely disappointed with the lack of hate, that's no way to rile up the Obsidianites

I totally agree on the dialogue system by the way. Adding the timer is nice, but having Mass Effect style short descriptions is much better than a vague generalization of the style. It feels like I'm kicking Thornton under the table instead of actually being him.

But the PMC isn't evil! Only one the guys leading it!

Have you read all the blackmail mails? They were...

Some of the Thorton's answers to Halbech though? Priceless.

For some reason, his description of the voice acting reminded me of watching his reviews

Funny how he calls "Sega" crafty ------- for the replay value when he probably has no intention of ever playing the game again.

Still enjoyed the review. It made me laugh, and it also made me want all those other options for getting the kitten out of the tree in my next crpg too.

I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God.

So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me?

Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

Actually he seemed a lot kinder to it and better about comparisons than most critics... which is odd.

Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition!

Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Because calling a game weak and broken is kind?

Compared to his usual treatment of games? Yes.

True, however that is pehaps the worst thing you can say about an RPG.

He called it weak and unbalanced, not weak and broken, and it was in reference to the boss combat. He praised the choice and reactivity, as well as the fact that you needed to skill up in a given weapon before being able to use it. His main complaint was that the game forces you into situations which can be very hard if you didn't choose the "right" skills, thus the weak and unbalanced aspect.

Maybe, but you can say that the game is badly balanced about.. well.. actually most of the rpgs I play.

Granted, in Alpha Protocol it's sometimes more pronounced since there are less skills and yet there are a handful or obviously better build (especially in light of boss fights)...

Just watched it again and your correct, my mistake. I wonder were I got the broken from.
