Winterwolf Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Just stumbled on the IMDB page for this game. No Jennifer Hale, but Grey Delisle (Jeanette from Bloodlines, Handmaiden), Michael Bell (Raziel from Soul Reaver), Jim Cummings (Minsc, Winnie Pooh/Tigger), Kristoffer Tabori (HK-47) and Adrienne Wilkinson (Eve/Livia from season 5/6 of Xena) more than make up for this. It might be peculiar to get a boner from a voice actor list, but... this just made the game more cooler in my eyes. I haven't have heard Jim Cummings in games since BG2. SirPetrakus Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Oh wow! Mike is Victor Delacroix from Chaos Legion! I loved that game back in the day! Though Victor was the bad guy ... I'm pretty sure that Jim Cummings was in Warhammer Battle March ... but if it's not listen on IMDB then I am most probably wrong about it. If you can have romance with Uli Booi, I am SO there!
Gorth Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 It is very hard not to have seen James Hong on screen at some point in time... David Lo Pan is one of my favourite movie villains in "Big Trouble in Little China" “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Deadly_Nightshade Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Grey Delisle is back, awesomeness. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Pop Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Anybody got a line on who Josh Gilman was in CoD4? If we do, we might have some idea of what Thorton's gonna sound like. Mobygames and the like have him as "additional voice talent". This is gonna sound a bit odd, but I really hope AP doesn't have Mass Effect's problems when it comes to using the voice on a non-white, non-Canadian character. Also, come on Funcroc, step up your game. This should be your bag. Edited September 16, 2008 by Pop Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Hell Kitty Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Mary Elizabeth McGlynn has the sexiest voice ever. That is all.
kirottu Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Jean Reno has the sexiest voice ever... erm... I mean if he were a woman that is. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.
fastpunk Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 The list is pretty long, so we can expect many characters. Yay for that! A lot of the people on the list are experienced voice actors too, so the quality should be top notch. Good to see Grey DeLisle on board btw, haven't heard her voice since Tomb Raider Anniversary. SteveThaiBinh Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 It looks like Obsidian/SEGA have decided to employ professional voice actors rather than 'big name' film/TV actors. This is all to the good. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)
Dark_Raven Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Grey and Jim are awesome. Minsc and Nalia! Or Jeanette and Max. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Hmm, I'm not sure I follow. In Mass Effect you *could* create characters of other ethnicities, but it's my understanding that Thornton is confirmed white. Then again, there's the possibility of this: Edited September 16, 2008 by Cl_Flushentityhero
H Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Obsidian could cut the expenses down considerably by hiring Phil LaMarr and making him voice all black characters in the game. Nobody would even notice, proved by Bloodlines.

Cl_Flushentityhero Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Actually, the CB cast is in a lot of stuff (Samurai Champloo, Gungrave, Last Exile), including games. Didn't see any of them in AP though. Edited September 16, 2008 by Cl_Flushentityhero

Joseph Bulock Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I think it's pretty clearly less so. Since the late 90's there have been big(ish) name actors voicing video games. You won't see that in imported anime, with a handful of exceptions like some of Miyazaki's films that get a US theatrical release. The actor who voiced Niko in GTA4 had almost no previous experience, but his voice was played in ads for the game on network TV for months. Not say they aren't necessarily good actors, but their work is less prestigious. I'm sure they wouldn't have got the gig if they weren't talented But then again, the dubbed anime gets played on multiple networks, online, and on DVDs, where people are going to likely see at least a whole episode. Compare that to people hearing a snippet of someones voice on a commercial... As far as big names doing video games, I would argue those are as scarce as the big names dubbing anime. If you take out the GTA series and Miyazaki films, both sides get very short very fast. Back on topic, our VO actors are awesome. My blood! He punched out all my blood! - Meet the Sandvich

WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 AHMAHGAWD KRISTOFFER TABORI! I LOVE YOUUUUU <3 "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

WILL THE ALMIGHTY Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Eh-hem. *dusts himself off* Sorry 'bout that bit of fanboyism. I still haven't gotten over HK-47. "Alright, I've been thinking.
